FIRST CUT Polishing Compound [NA-FCT16]

I have a 2004 GMC Sierra which I bought brand new and has never been compounded or polished. I used 3M 9 inch one sided compound and polishing pads with a Craftsman 7 inch buffer. I did the side of the truck with FIRST CUT and it worked very well. Finished it up with COMPOLISH. The first cut worked well on the side panels but wasn't strong enough for the heavy weathering on the hood. ( see my review and pics of the HD compound. ) in my opinion this would be the product to use on much newer cars which have seen much less weathering as my 13 year old truck. But again it worked fine on the side panels. I am experimenting with these products to find out which exactly does what. So far so good. I used to paint cars professionally but have not since 1995 so I do have a background in paint refinishing and repair.

I had a small rub mark I wanted to remove from my new Honda Goldwing and I did not want to use anything that would be too rough and leave an unwanted scratch. I bought and used the sister product (ultra fine compound) which was perfect. I also bought this, the "first cut" compound and used it to remove a mark on my wife's car after this ultra fine compound was only able to remove about 50%. The first cut product finished the job. Together they are a great pair. Wish they sold this stuff in a bottle about 1/10th the size. These bottles are large enough to last me the rest of my life.

This product was able to remove slight scratches quite well. I would purchase it again.

For the $...I think it did a great job.... used it after 1500 wet sand on my boat with a 7" buffer! A small piece of advice...have a spray bottle with water and lightly mist the area you are working with....seemed to help.....

This stuff works great & the price was fair enough, I bought 3 different bottles , I started with the HD cut, then the First cut, Then the compolish. I resurfaced a pair of automotive Headlights & finished them with the nanoskin & the results were excellent
