Boy of Mine

This book was on heavy rotation with my son - I love it!

This is the cutest, sweetest little book. My 2 year old loves it. He asks for it nightly and even sings the twinkle twinkle version from the book. I love the book because of its diversity, in addition to the sweet bedtime story. The baby boy in the book is ethnic but no particular race or background that I could easily point out. He represents many kids, which I like since it is hard to find books like this and because I believe it is extremely important for the images my child to see in books, pictires, etc. to represent him and who we are as a family and to start early doing so. I wish there were many other books like this. The story is easy to read, catchy, and I have the book memorized! Perfect nightime book at the end of a busy day.

We had “Girl of Mine” so I figured we needed this one too!Our son was 18 months when we got it and he LOVES both of these books.We read them constantly.

This is my favorite baby book for my boys. They each had me read it so many times that they had it memorized it!

We borrowed this book from the local library and every night since it's the book our 1.5 year old picks out to read before bedtime. And by read, we mean read over and over again. So we decided it was worth owning. The books he likes usually goes in phases but this one he still really loves us to read to him. He even picks it up randomly and tries to read on his own! Seems like he really likes the artwork. He notices all these little details that he enjoys pointing out. His favorite page is the peek-a-boo page. His smile and laughter when we get to that page is priceless. Great book, thank you!

This book is our bedtime closer. Our son has loved it for as long as he's been able to enjoy books. He'd giggle every time we'd open to the first page. Now he realizes that bedtime is imminent when this comes out so he tries to grab other books. Nice try, kiddo! The seque into the lullaby at the end is wonderful because he's conditioned to get very, very sleepy when he hears it. It's a beautiful book that allows you to celebrate your little guy while you're reading to him. I've purchased this as a gift for many friends. Highly recommend.

I absolutely adore this book. The rhyme scheme is cute and easy to follow along with. I recommend reading this book with a soft, slow voice. Combined with the rhythm, it knocks my son out within minutes. It’s such a wonderful book to read with my son and I enjoy the pictures, as does my son.

Both my son and daughter have grown up reading (and re-reading) this delightful bedtime story. Strangely enough, my daughter prefers 'Boy of Mine'; while my son is partial to the equally enchanting 'Girl of Mine'. I also HIGHLY recommend these other works by Jabari Asim:'Whose Knees are These' (boy)'Whose Toes are Those' (girl)I initially selected 'Whose Knees are These' because there are so (relatively) few books representing children of color. That being said, these books will entertain and delight children and parents of any background!

I love this little book. Perfect for reading at bedtime when my son is on my lap. Beautiful pictures. I will buy this as presents for friends in the future.

Such a lovely book for bedtime. We were given the 'Girl or mine' edition as a present when my little girl was born so when I had my little boy in May I just had to get this. Both books are equally as lovely and perfect for young toddlers and babies with beautiful pictures,

I absolutely love this cute book and so does my 10 month old boy! My girl has the girl version and it's extremely cute too, she used to ask for this book every night. One of my favourite baby books
