Perfect fit!
My 27 year old Milgard mortise had a piece break inside, and this was a great replacement. Smooth locking operation, fit perfectly in the door with no issues. Donโt be scared of the slightly rounded corners being different from the originalโs rectangular shape. I recommend this mortise to anyone needing to replace their Milgard sliding door mortise. And if youโre having trouble figuring out how to access the mortise itself in your door, remove the plastic cover from the end of your door. Took me way too long to figure that out. Use a pry bar or the claw of a hammer near the bottom of the cover and pull it up a little. Then peel it off all the way to the top. And just mash it back in when youโve slotted the new mortise in!

double check latch spacing on striker plate
This mortise is an OEM quality part but be careful with the spacing (vertical when mounted) on the latches- these are a bit closer than the one I removed, so I had to grind the striker plate down in order to get the new mortise to latch completely. I dont know why Milgard doesnt have a universal size for their patio doors of the same series, but at some point they changed the distance between the latch points. My patio doors are older but this is the only replacement part I could find.

If this is the right one for your door then get it
If this is the right one for your door, then get it. The spring in my latch had gotten so weak that it would fall down and lock every time I closed the door. This was definitely not good when you step outside for a minute. This was an exact match and all is well once again.

Perfect sliding door lock for Millard Sliding glass door
Excellent product! Fits and works perfectly! The hardest part was getting off the door molding that covers the part. We used a putty knife and a flat head screwdriver. The putty knife to create a little space between the molding and the door at the bottom, then the screwdriver to create a little more space then pull off the molding. To put molding back on start from the top and tap it in with a rubber mallet.
