This is good, but...
I gave this product 5 stars because it is what it says, and does what it says, and seems to be of high quality. After using it I think that it will be very helpful in eliminating or minimizing trigger points (muscle "knots"). That said, I think it is overpriced, and I think most people could do just as well with a lacrosse ball. I picked up a couple of lacrosse balls at a local sporting goods store for a tiny fraction of the Tiger Ball price, and they work great. I keep one at home and one at the office, so I don't have to carry them around. So while I give the Tiger Ball 5 stars for usefulness and quality, I would give it 1 star for price. The instructions that come with the Tiger Ball refer to the triggerpointbook.com web site for more information. It was very informative. Clair Davies, the author of The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook: Your Self-Treatment Guide for Pain Relief, Second Edition recommends lacrosse balls for the same purpose that the Tiger Ball is intended. After using the Tiger Ball, I don't think the rope is necessary (at least for me). Presumably, the rope is to help you get the ball to hard-to-reach spots in your back; but I can just put the ball between my back and the wall, then move my body to maneuver the ball to wherever I need it. The rope is more often in my way than useful. If you buy a lacrosse ball and you need help getting it to a particular spot, you can put it in a long sock and use the sock like the rope. I wish I had known about lacrosse balls before I bought the Tiger Ball. I recommend taking a few minutes to look at the information on the triggerpointbook web site. It doesn't just promote the book. There is a lot of information about trigger points and how to treat them. I peeked inside the book here at Amazon, and the technique Clair Davies recommends is slightly different than the instructions that come with the Tiger Ball, and more complete than on the triggerpointbook web site. I have since bought the book, and recommend it highly. It is very informative, and I find it easy to read.

5 Stars! Excellent product!
I have shoulder problems; rotator cuff tendinitis. While in physical therapy at the Hospital for Special Surgery in NYC, my therapist prescribed several cuff release maneuvers for me to do at home. One was laying on my back with a tennis ball placed beneath the infraspinatus / teres minor area. I was to then use my body to manipulate the pressure and location of the ball. The goal was to massage and release trigger points. This process was beneficial but very difficult to control the movement and pressure. Then I found the Tiger Ball; wow what a difference!! Using it while standing and leaning against a door suddenly I could easily accomplish what the therapist wanted me to do. Manipulating the pressure and movement of the ball became easy and the effectiveness grew exponentially! When I turned my therapist on to the Tiger Ball he loved it and wished he had invented such a great common sense product! I love my Tiger Ball and easily take it with me when I travel.

works well for specific trigger point relief
bought this on recommendation of physical trainer for trigger points around my scapula after rotator cuff surgery. the cord allows me to center the pressure on specific areas without worrying about the ball dropping on the floor. however, sometimes the cord does get in the way, not often. first time ordering, the cord was 47 inches, advertised at 55 inches, way too short for what I needed. company customer service was exemplary, I was sent another product with the correct cord within days.

Not A Ball Gag
This relieves the knot/spasm in my back. Had another and can't find it so I had to purchase another to get some relief.

Nifty Piece of Exercise Equipment
I was introduced to a Tiger Tail ball at the physical therapists, and in order to continue my therapy at home I purchased one. When my daughter was visiting she tried mine and loved it. So I bought her one too. They are great to target areas of your back that you canโt reach, what a great invention!

Can't go a day without it!
I have bought 4 of these: one for home, another for work, and 2 others for friends at work who tried it out and decided they could not do without it. Great for the back, shoulders, neck, buttocks . . . . anywhere you can lean on it against a hard surface. My boss had an ache on his side just under his armpit, and he lay on the ground with the Tiger Ball beneath the site between the floor and his body. 30 seconds later, he felt much better. And it is also wonderful that the pressure applied is totally up to you: ease up for less or really push in for the deeper aches. I have tried using tennis balls in long socks but they were cumbersome. The cords on this one allow it to be held where I need it without slipping out of place. Construction is sturdy. I recommend this unreservedly.

Not so good
The idea seems great, but the execution is poor. The ball is too small for under thighs and some other areas, though itโs good for the back. I also find the ball a little too hard and unforgiving. The rope keeps the ball from falling which is good, but the ball also slips very easily on the rope, making it hard to keep in place. All in all, I wouldnโt recommend it, especially at this price point. A tennis ball will do better.

Massage ball on a ropeb
I found this very useful,I have used standard massage balls to target a muscle in my upper back, theball keptdropping out. Where as the ball on a string, you can place it just right. I'm very happy with it.

Amazing
I love this for that hard to reach knot in your back. I get it between the shoulder blades area! I sit on couch and place it where the knot is and it does the rest.

Make the ball white!!
While a really great idea and definitely works to help Massage knots out of back against a wall, the greates flaw is having a BLACK rubber ball - it leaves scuff marks on the walls!!
