I used these to push the break pistons back on an Audi Q5. The break piston assembly was quite big, and it cleared the thick metal housing to press on the pads. It was strong enough for this purpose and did not distort or fail. The paint finish did chip off after a few use, but if you are using it indoors and keeping it dry, it should not be a problem. I have had it for many years, and it did not rust where the paint chipped. This is not for smaller jobs because the clamp is heavy. It is not meant for projects like holding pipes since the pipe would loosen and be a hazard. It is not designed for this purpose. The stainless head is on swivel, so it can clamp things that are not parallel to the large C portion. The small thin rod for tightening and unscrewing the press is little weak. It you have to really force the clamp screw it might bend and possibly break. Use caution. It is great for clamping flat objects to a working table. That is what this is designed for. For the cost, I would recommend it.

Very high quality. Perfect doing brake jobs. Smooth threads. No sloppy play in grip.

I used this clamp to help with a brake repair job and it worked perfectly. I don’t know the exact name of the part I was pressing but it was the piece you need to compress to get the new brake pads in place. This clamp had plenty of strength and gave me good control without slipping or shifting. For a basic tool like this, it felt really solid and well-made. Definitely a handy addition to my toolbox and I’d trust it for similar jobs in the future.

I love Irwin products and own several. The build quality of these is what is expected of Irwin. Great clamps, easy to use, and get the job done. I'm leaving 4 stars only because the coating is chipped in several places, like others have mentioned. Not really a big deal but it makes it feel like it was used or abused before you get it. Does it affect performance? No... Do you really care if you have a pretty c-clamp? No.

I recently used this clamp when I was replacing the brakes on my SUV. I was able to retract the cylinder of my brakes with very little effort put into it at all. I plan to use this guy for a lot more tasks. It is sturdy, adjustable to fit almost any small job, easy to grip and even easier to use! It's not too heavy but feels durable enough to last for a long time. With such a wide range of functionality, I definitely believe the value for the money is there. Highly recommended!

I bought this to help me to repair shoes. I had several pairs where the sole was coming loose and needed to be re-glued to the upper. Using tape and rubber bands didn't work well. This clamp works. I got very good contact between the sole and upper which provided a strong bond and a professional looking repair. Very useful.

It technically does the job, but it was much too heavy for my purposes. I returned it and got a smaller one, and that's now working out :)

Resistente y buen recubrimiento anti arañazos.

Un po caro ma vale ogni centesimo..robusto anzi robustissimo, ideale per un uso intensivo do quattro stelle perché la vernice (molto spessa) di rivestimento è saltata via in qualche punto (credo sia colpa del viaggio che ha fatto). Altra cosa da sottolineare anche se non a tutti interessa a me non sono arrivati con la scritta bianca!
