Cloud Star Tricky Trainers Soft & Chewy Dog Treats, Cheddar, 5 oz. Pouch

Do you love your puppy (I don't care how old your furbaby is, they're puppies forever)? Do you care about what goes in his/her tummy? Do you want your puppy's full attention like never before? If you answered yes to any one of those three questions (hell, even if you said yes to just one of them), then BUY THESE TREATS. First off, from when you rip off the top and open that bag for the first time, be prepared for that meaty, cheesy smell to explode in your face. Seriously, sit down before you open this bag or it might just knock you right on your ass. I had to fight my husband off so that he wouldn't just dig in and eat the entire bag (he did try one, though, like he does with all of the treats that we buy for our babies, just to see first-hand what we're feeding them). Secondly, the puppies will smell these things from 2 miles down the road, underwater, with muzzles on. Be prepared for their sudden madness. And lastly (but most importantly, for me, as their mommy), these aren't chock full of nasty additives or harmful chemicals like many other treats are. We try to get the best for our babies, including fresh raw meat from time to time as well as fruits and vegetables and such, so we try to be good about treats, too. As a BONUS: these things are smooth and dry on the outside, but moist and chewy on the inside. Great for the pups, awesome for non-sticky hands and fingers after training sessions. These aren't the cheap, by the bulk treats that some people may prefer to buy to be frugal, but in our book, they're worth every cent. Tricky trainers are far and away our favorite training treat. They are small and soft, and can be broken down into even smaller bits as desired. They can go straight into your pocket without leaving a mess. These have lots of value for dogs, too. We've used them to train a leash reactive dog to first sit while other dogs pass, then to walk confidently past other dogs. We've used them for basic obedience training and for more advanced "trick" work, as well as for scent work. They are a constant staple in our dog supply cabinet and they've never let us down! More to love: -They are corn and wheat free, with a common sense ingredient list you can pronounce. -They aren't high in calories. They contain some maple syrup but aren't as crazy sweet as many treats. -They appear to be made in the USA. (Label says "Manufactured for Cloud Star, St. Louis, MO" - so not 100% clear.) -They donate a portion of their proceeds to animal charities. -The cheddar flavor is perfect if you'd rather not carry meat products around in your pocket. -They come in a resealable zipper bag and stay soft and fresh as long as it is sealed between uses. At our house, "cookie" has come to mean "Tricky Trainer", and our dogs will do just about anything for these "cookies"!

As long as this company is in business and I have a dog I will buy their treats! My yorkie puppy LOVES these treats! He is 12 weeks old and 2.5 pounds so I had to find a low calorie treat (he gets 179 calories a day!). Plus his breed is know to have sensitive tummies and this all natural treat is perfect for him! Each treat is a bit tall, so I use a pill cutter and cut them in half height wise and then cut them into 4ths so each treat ends up being 8 pieces (see 2nd photo) which is the perfect size for him AND I don’t have to feel bad for him eating a bunch. Plus they don’t crumble when I cut them which is AWESOME! The cheddar flavor is his favorite, the scent is great and smells like Hickory Farm sausage which I love the smell of! He will do ANYTHING for these treats! Day 2 when he came home (2 weeks ago) he learned to SIT, WAIT(about 8 seconds), lay DOWN, and SPIN just to get a treat! They are also perfect to put into any learning toy you have. It’s perfect if you need a way to distract your fur family member for a bit. I can’t say enough about this treat other than BUY IT!

Puppy loves these. I'm glad you can break them down to smaller pieces. Takes her to long to chew a whole! Great for training! I get these out she is already sitting!

These treats are fantastic not only for training, but for most interactive toys. A lot of interactive toys have size constraints, and larger treats won't fit. These fit in just about every (I say "just about" because I'm sure there's a toy out there somewhere that won't work) interactive toy there is. They're on the small side, so they will work well for most puppies too. We buy every flavor for our three dogs, and they seem to like the Cheddar and Liver flavors the best. I would note these treats would probably be categorized as "mid-value". They are high quality treats, with good ingredients, made in the United States. We currently buy every flavor we can on Amazon through Subscribe and Save, if that says anything about how we feel about them. However, if you're working with a fearful dog (which tend to be too anxious to take any sort of treat outside of meat or cheese), these may not work. Every dog is different, and you would have to see what your dog likes in stressful situations. Two of our three dogs have sensitive stomachs, and they have had no problems with these (any flavor).

My dog is food motivated, but has a sensitive stomach. She loves these and they have never upset her stomach.

For people who go through a lot of treats trying to train your dog, these can be really helpful. I think the treat is appealing to dogs and makes a good ‘medium-value’ treat; it’s not chopped hot dog or anything, but still much more appealing than dry dog food. I think the price for the quantity is pretty good. Nutritionally, I admit I don’t know much about dog ingredients. I can’t with good authority weigh into the subject of treat ‘quality’. The treats are moist and appealing to my dog, though he is incredibly good motivated. I put these into my dog’s treat dispenser and the treat loses its moisture after long, but that is to be expected. They’re the perfect size treat for anyone using a treat dispenser as well.

We usually get these from our local natural pet store, however it's about 12 bucks for one of these packs (this comes with 2), so this is a super deal! Our dogs love them, so I know we will keep buying as long as they are available! As far as the treats themselves go, they are nice and soft (just don't leave the bag unsealed white not using or they will get hard) and they really are good for training because your dog doesn't really have to stop and crunch a treat and get distracted, and they are small enough that you can give them a lot in a short period of time and it won't make them fat. We tried even low fat pupperoni and it gave our minpin an upset tummy :( But these have never made him sick! We have tried other flavors but these smell the best to humans! We also treat them to go potty outside and these are perfect since they are so small as well.

Her highness is a big fan of cheese, so I thought this would be a good alternative as cheese itself doesn't really have long shelf life and portable in Singapore weather. You can watch her highness rejecting it. My quest for an appealing 'trainer treat' continues. Its packed in a good quality resealable bag. Ingredients wise, not the best treat out there but its priced accordingly. you get what you pay for. No shockers here(what and corn free doesn't mean grain free). For a 18-20 kg dog, I would suggest further splitting the treat size to 1/2 or 1/4th to use this for training . PS: so far from all the chewy treats I have tried, Wellness core soft well bites is the only one that has received the royal seal of approval.
