WTB Venture Gravel Bike Tire (650 x 47) Tubeless Folding, Light & Fast Folling, Gravel & Adventure (Iconic Tan Sidewall)

Good for gravel, especially when it's steep and chunky... Capable of handling some hero single track on a "road" bike. Not too bad on the road (especially if you crank up dat PSI) when you have ride to the gravel/trail/fun stuff. I normally rock one of these bad boys on my front wheel and a WTB Bypass on the back. I’m running these on a gravel bike. They work well on pavement and dirt roads, light singletrack but start to get out of their element in mud.

I've been running either WTB Bi-Ways or WTB Sendero and swapping them based on anticipated conditions. Of the two, Bi-Ways were my preferred as they were fast and worked for a lot of gravel in NE Ohio. However, as soon as anything was slightly dicey the tires got very slick. For example, if you hit some damp singletrack or light mud the slick center would skate all over the place. Its then I recognized that my tire choices were too extreme, either super knobby or slick. I needed something goldilocks right in the middle. I tried the Venture the first time out on an organized 47 mile mixed surface ride: gravel, smooth tarmac, and chip & seal. I was blown away. Not only where the Ventures nearly as fast as my Bi-Ways on the road, they provided a ton of confidence in the gravel. I was able to more aggressively navigate around gravel road ruts and holes without fear of washing out. The ride was super supple at 28 psi (650b). First taste and I love these tires. Also, these were the easiest WTB tires I have set up tubeless yet. The Senderos made me want to cry trying to stretch them over the rim, Bi-Ways as well the first time I set them up. The Senderos continue to be a PITA to mount, while Bi-Ways loosened up over time. The Ventures were perfect first time.

These WTB Ventures were what I was looking for in terms of tread pattern and capabilities. Most of my riding is a mix of pavement and gravel roads with slight logging roads mixed in. They handled everything with ease and confidence. Look out for sandy sections though. I hit a couple of them and they did not perform well. I was not expecting too much though since they aren't really built for sand. There is no hesitation with taking turns at high speeds do to the slightly aggressive outer tread pattern. Even riding leafy sections, the tires would slip slightly but then get right back on track. On pavement I am even more confident due to the tight inner tread pattern. The one flaw that I experienced, and others have stated, Is that I'm having a tough time with them in a tubeless set-up. One of my tires may lose about 5psi over the course of a week, (which is fine for me) but my other tire loses around 15psi over that same time period. When I spray it with soapy water I do notice bubbles forming along the side walls. I can deal with having to fill the tire with air, since you should be checking tire pressure anyways before rides, I just wish it would hold better. {I currently have around 200 miles on these tires.} Overall WTB makes great products and that one issue would not deter me from continuing to use their product line.

First got these tires 2 years ago for my 650 wheels, lots of gravel rides and no flats! I run 28/26 psi and they handle loose terrain great along with singletrack. Just got a new set of wheels for my current gravel bike and found these skinwall tires. Highly recommend!

Sad to say I won't ever buy another WTB tire if this is the quality they're going to be putting out. Bought in February, kept indoors until I installed in March. Sidewall is cracking wide open all over the place after a couple hundred miles. WTB tires used to be just fine, now they're junk in my experience/opinion.

Not as easy to set up tubeless as hoped. They do stay inflated pretty well between rides though.

Admittingly I have only ridden on Panaracer Gravelking SK's 650 x48's before but these tyres have actually changed the handling and performance of my bike on all terrain. Not sure if I'll ever change from these.

The first one i order is fine.. The second was a nightmare!!! Pin holes on few spots!! Supposed to be for tubeless use!!!
