I want to connect 2 of these monitors via hdmi and use a wireless keyboard. can i buy speakers that will play the sound if the laptop is closed?

I can answer some of your questions maybe with more info, I'm not sure about your speaker question. You can connect the monitors with HDMI cords but you need a PC of some sort to run them.

Can you flip the monitor to make it vertical?

Yes you can, it's in windows settings, click the monitor, then click portrait

Can i connect this monitor to my macbook air?

If it has a HDMI connection yes I don't know much about MAC I have used MAC in ages.
