Has anyone compared this one (having tried both) to jovan's island gardenia (not jungle gardenia)?

Having tried both, I much prefer Elizabeth Taylor Gardenia. It's a truer scent, very lovely.

Is this an old lady smell? Like other elizabeth taylor perfumes? Or is it lighter for younger people? Not to be rude

You are not being rude. I understand what you mean. As I said, my bottle smelled like kerosene. After I received the bottle, I looked at the other negative reviews, and others had the same problem. I have no idea what it smelled like. I had to throw it out. I'd love to find a gardenia perfume that smells like gardenia.

I keep seeing reviews that say the scent doesn't last at all, then opposite ones that say it lasts all day. Please let me know about lasting power?

The scent does last. Smells exactly like gardenia and you can't beat the price. Everyone's body chemistry is different..So whether or not their body carries all day depends on alot of things. I would buy again.

what perfume would you compare the scent to?
