This is an excellent quality, perfectly padded, all cotton mattress pad. There was no smell when I took it out of the package. Even though the instructions said that washing was optional before use, I washed it. It held up beautifully. It fit snug on the bed. It is more breathable because there is no waterproof backing. I would recommend a waterproof mattress protector to go under this.

In a word, FABULOUS! Completely breathable, high quality, washes well and makes for a really comfortable night's sleep. I've always wondered why anyone would go to the trouble and expense of buying a nice quality natural fiber mattress and then negate the purpose by putting a synthetic mattress pad on top. This cotton mattress cover is an excellent addition to what is aleeady a quality breathable mattress. Enjoy this nice cotton cover with a nice wool or down feather bed underneath it and on top of mattress itself. And, voile! You then have one heck of a comfortable night's sleep! Enjoy!!!

I’m a hot sleeper. Summers are brutal even with central air & 3 fans on. I was desperate to get a decent night’s sleep. I purchased this 100% cotton pad & it’s easily the best bedding purchase I’ve ever made. I can’t recommend it enough. There isn’t much padding, but we have a Sleep Number mattress, so my side is soft. This washes & dries nicely, no bunching up in the quilting, fits the Sleep Number mattress well, no sliding. And most importantly, it doesn’t add to your body heat during your sleep time. Totally Recommend!

This organic cotton mattress pad is lovely. It is thick, smooth and soft and beautiful and just the weave is tight enough to be water resistant. The pockets are deep enough to actually fit my mattress which is a joy unto itself. It has already proven to protect my mattress from spills, soil and general dog dirtiness. Because it is organic cotton. It is noiseless. It is such extraordinary quality. I can't believe I found it on Amazon. If you wanted a tree bed, like I do, I highly recommend this product.

I received our king mattress cover. When I can, I try to get quality. This was a bit of an expense, but I thought it would be worth it. We also try to have only cotton or natural fibers. Off the bat the mattress cover seems to be good quality. Worth $165? Not sure, but I think it's a matter of supply and demand. Most are made with polyester so if you make yours of 100% cotton, you're in the minority and can charge more. This was kind of a splurge. After all it goes under the fitted sheet. You don't even see it. It's about comfort, but still quite expensive. Okay, I know what I was getting in to. So, it's not unreasonable to expect a high quality product and service, right? I open the box and there it is in a plastic bag, which was obviously already opened and then taped closed with clear scotch tape. It was also taped over with the wide clear packing tape. It was a bit of a mess. I was disappointed to see this LACK of quality considering what I paid. Come on!? Whisper Organics, couldn't you at least repack it in a descent bag and not tape it up like some elementary school art project? After that negative first impression I didn't know what to expect to find inside the fancy bag. I'm happy to say that the actual product seemed good. I opened it and spread it out on our standard king mattress which measures 80' X 77'. On the the amazon page, the king mattress cover measurements are 82' x 78', so I thought that was good. Out of the bag it was exactly what they said. It was bigger than our mattress by a few inches, but no problem. I washed it following the directions exactly, in warm water and dry on low. I put it on the bed and it was a little small. But not terribly in my opinion, but yours might be different. I measured it post washing and drying and the new dimensions are 76.5' x 73'. So it shrinks in length about 5 inches and in width 5 inches too. Sounds pretty bad but it still looks good on the mattress and covers it pretty well. I appreciate that they make them extra large knowing that they will shrink, but they needed to add a few more inches to that. What I don't understand is, why don't they prewash all the fabrics and pre-shrink them to avoid these problems!? Come on, it's not rocket science. I noticed too that the top surface of the mattress cover is square, but most mattresses are not perfectly square, but have rounded corners and are wider in the middle of the sides than they are near the corners. So this exaggerates the shrinkage. What's most important is that it covers the mattress mostly very well and it definitely seems like good quality. I hope, like a good pair of jeans that it will relax with use and fit more comfortably over time. In spite of some of the issues I do recommend this pad but I would recommend washing in cold water and dry with absolutely no heat or hang dry, which could be tricky. It's large and you will need a very dry sunny maybe breezy day. I might update this review after we actually put it to the test. I guess if I haven't updated, that's good news.

Well made product! This washed up nicely and was then tumbled dry. Instructions recommended to dry thoroughly so I put it on low dry for two full cycles. There was little to no shrinkage which was a concern based on a previous review. It fits our king size bed perfectly, and even improved the comfort of our mattress.

My family is extremely sensitive to heat while sleeping. The smallest bit of plastic, vinyl, synthetics will cause tossing and turning all night. Our bedding must be 100% cotton from the mattress pad, to the sheets and down comforter duvet. Finding 100% cotton mattress pads is impossible at retailers and like a needle in a haystack. Sellers advertise their product as "100% all cotton" only to find the cover is cotton but the fill is synthetic. Or the sides or backing synthetic, or 95% cotton and 5% synthetic fill. Sheesh, why not just make it 100% cotton? Because cotton costs more. Yet nothing can duplicate the unrivaled sleep you get with 100% cotton mattress pads and sheets. They also last for many year's as no plastics to melt. Cotton naturally wicks away moisture, it breathes and you sleep cooler. No, that doesn't mean it's going to magically cool you off like an air conditioner or make you uncomfortably cold. It means it will keep you comfortable yet cozy - and less likely to sweat/overheat. I've ordered several of these in King and TwinXL. The pads arrived sealed and wrapped, the pad has a reusable dust cover. The high-quality pad is tied with a bow. I mean how can a mattress pad be so high-end? It's also Organic cotton and because it's unbleached it's a beautiful ivory color. No chemicals and dyes. I washed in my front loader, dried as directed then the true test. It fit my 15" king mattress perfectly edge-to-edge and corners on the entire top, and the elastic went underneath the mattress. The cotton is cushiony with a honeycomb-like pattern which creates raised areas for air to flow, and prevent the cotton batting from bunching. Everyone sleeps soundly. The quality is easily the best I've seen for pads twice as much like Lands End. Another great thing is a TwinXL will fit a Split California King mattress, which is impossible to find a 100% cotton mattress pad for. I hope the manufacturer continues with this quality product! If you have issues with it being too large/small for your mattress and need it to fit more snug. You can order sheet straps for each corner to prevent shifting.

This mattress pad is worth the price - all cotton, including the batting. Thick and soft. It arrived in a covid-reasonable time and was beautifully packaged. It also smelled clean, no chemical smell, and has a tag Made In India, which I prefer over Chinese made products. I put it on the bed immediately to check the size. The quilted part was slightly larger than our standard king sized bed, about 2-3" each direction. I debated about washing it in warm or cold, and opted for warm. Then dried it on low. The quilted portion did shrink - and now fits the bed perfectly. In the future I will wash on warm and dry on very low, to retain the size. A word about the fitted edging part that goes around the mattress (is there a term for that?) - it is very generous and would fit a mattress much taller than our 10" mattress. Consequently it fits a little loose on our bed. However I tucked it firmly under the mattress, and the pad stays in place very well. Overall I am very, very pleased with this mattress pad, and I am very picky when it comes to bedding. Now a suggestion to the bedding industry: please find a way to mark the fitted products "END" or "SIDE" so we don't have to get out the Sharpie to mark our bedding so we can make the bed easier!
