Annual or perennial? Description says sugarcane is perennial, them after direction for planting in a pot it says annual.

Sugarcane, like tomatoes, is a tender perennial. They are perennial in the tropics but treated as an annual where winter temps drop below freezing. Many of the flowers and vegetables grown as annuals in the north are actually perennials in their native lands, simply because it doesn’t freeze.

How have these grown long term? Are these actually sugar cane?

I bought these a while ago and was skeptical at first because when growing they look a lot like corn, but after harvest I can assure you that they are indeed sugarcane.

This variety can be grown in southern California. These seeds germinate and grow extremely well from my experience.

How many months do need to grow before you can make cane suryp?

Unknown I planted it in June up in Rhode Island mine go to about 6 feet tall, doubt it was ready to make syrup but my goal was just to watch it grow. It did come into head with seeds however.
