Update: The things I stated based on my initial feedback were true, but after a few months, the hinge broke and the wood shredded. My husband "fixed" it, but it happened again. Others seem to have had the same problem, so I don't recommend, especially for the price. This stylish toy box holds many toys and the two drawers on the bottom allow for organization. I even put dividers in the drawers for more organization. My five-year old can open and close the toy box without any trouble or fear of getting her hand smashed.

I'm really not the review type, but this box! That's what it is!! Your paying for cheaply made layered paper mache. I should have known better. What can I say. I got tired of the toys everywhere, all day, everyday! So I gave it a shot. I promise by the time your done with this box. Your A: gonna take it outside and have expensive target practice. Or B: you're gonna clime inside, and lay there defeated and dead. I would NOT recommend the latter. Because it is barely deep enough. Better pray your kiddo enjoys miniature toys, because it must have been built for fraggles! It scratches easily. I went with white to match the dEcor, my bad! Boy, i'll end up spray painting this sucker or kid rocking it up and down the street! I'm not to sure yet. I am sure it will last a couple of months before it just pancakes apart when I sneeze or fart one day. It probably will happen just by looking at it! So don't stare to hard at your bad choices. Not to mention if your doing it alone, FORGET ABOUT IT! And if you do manage to make the same mistake I did. By the time you reach the end, if you haven't taken your own life with your own tools, and you better hope, you are using power tools. Because it's been 75 years since you decided using that there screw driver. Would be a good idea! When assembling the lid, DO NOT DROP IT LIKE ITS HOT! The boards are like what osteoporosis does to bone. Assembling them looked like the scene when Mr. Glass falls from his wheelchair. It will shatter and splinter much like your soul is at this point. Good thing most of the damage that occurred was on the back side. I can at least hide the SHAME against my wall and not have to face it. Now at this point, theres no going back! I'm not gonna take it apart! It nearly is complete, complete-ly- making me miserable! To put this box. back in the box. To return whence it came from. I would have been better off using the box it came in, as the toy box its self! At least that box looks decent after it's been past around like a hot turkey on Thanksgiving. From delivery driver to delivery driver. That just might be having a case of the Monday's, that day. Nope my pride is as deep as the Atlantic ocean and unlike Rose I am not trucking my million dollar turd box back to UPs. No! Not I, sir or madam. I'm gonna shove the emotions way deep down now. Because it isn't over yet. You haven't even begun to try to assemble the tiny cheap aluminum looking hardware inside your cheap box....so you can have a fancy lid that goes up and down, as to where it supposed to keep the lid from Montague and Decapulet-ting your next of kins fingers off! And you better hope, you have barbie size hands too! Now as you struggle to get up off the floor after becoming a floor person. You finally.... stand up! To take a look at all the time and effort it took to put this expletive word or phrase together! Just to realize that the hardware, you just assembled.... may or may not match the picture book instructions. And in a couple of months you know that hardware is just gonna snap. Just like how you will by the end of this project! And all you can do is blame yourself because you knew better! So point being, if you like the smell of toast or expensive campfires? BUY THIS!

Easy to put together super cute, but the wood came a little bit cracked and warped luckily it’s on the inside so it should hold up. Will update my review if it does not.

I love the soft close hinge on this toy box - it actually stays open until the child manually closes it. It does still have points where it can catch a toddler’s fingers if the toddler slams it on their own fingers. My toddler immediately because obsessed with the noise the top made when it was manually slammed shut. You can guess how that went. I was worried about eventual damage, so I added some rubber bumpers on the edges (the kind you would put on cabinet doors) to prevent the wooden top from slamming down straight on the frame. In my opinion, it should have come with these. Luckily I had some laying around. Overall this toy chest is adorable, modern, spacious, and comes with drawers to organize toys. It has a large, flat panel on the front that would make a great space for children’s names or a decoration of some kind.

I really like this. Works perfect for my kids and doesn’t slam so no hurt fingers. Warning: keep away from walls. The corners will damage your walls! Otherwise I really like this.

My very handy boyfriend put this together for my granddaughter on Christmas eve and it was a challenge for him, which has never been an issue before. The pre drilled holes for both the hinges and one of the divider pieces that creates the cubbies in the bottom were way too big, not allowing him to tighten them down at all. He had to use toothpicks and wood glue to shrink up the holes to allow it to tighten up. The pieces, themselves were not labeled, however, the instructions had each piece labeled, if you could possibly identify which was which. This made assembly a bit challenging, and take longer than necessary. I bought a Badger Basket versus a cheaper one, hoping for a higher quality toybox and sadly, I did NOT get that.
