Arbitrarily plot-driven
Uplifting? Not for me.During the first half of the novel, all the characters stewed in their juices, repetitively. Then a miracle occurs! and all of a sudden, everyone does a sea-change for the better!!! In a day or so!!The characters were not actual people- they were cardboard cut-outs that had no coherency, but just floolowed the directives of the (very simplistic) plot.Look, I am a sucker for a happy-ending Christmas novel- but this was just unsatisfying in every possible way.

Dragged and then rushed
This story was stunning. I really loved both Holly and Ivy. You could really feel Ivy’s devastation and Holly’s despair and confusion. I felt like they were never going to intermix. And then when they did, everything happened so fast. Too fast. I would have enjoyed a little more of Holly and her friends….maybe getting a little more involved in getting Ivy and Daniel together??? And I hope there are plans for a book featuring Sarah so we can see more of the girls and adults in this one. I would love to see something beyond ‘pilot error’ to bring a more positive ending for Margaret. At any rate it was mostly a good read for me.

Not Up to Her Normal Standards
I normally love her books. The writing always is lively and the characters are more than one dimensional. However, this felt to me like a cookie cutter book. The characters were flat and the dialog was that way also. I almost thought this was one of her early books before the sisterhood that they had issued in Kindle Format. Almost thought about returning it

Christmas comes
With the title of Holly and Ivy one immediately thinks of Christmas , not the names of two totally different people. How the two lives are brought together is Fern Michaels at her best. I enjoyed a look into both of their lives and how they weave their stories together. The adult and the child - both in need of the other without knowing it. Thank you Fern for another delightful story.

A fun read at Christmas time
With similar losses that have forged their lives this far, Ivy, Daniel and Holly learn to change their futures through sharing.

Holly and Ivy
Disaster struck eight years ago with the crash of an airplane. Ivy lost her husband and three year old twins and Daniel lost his wife, Holly's mother. Holly and Ivy meet bringing Ivy back to life and then Ivy met Holly's father, Daniel bringing him back to life. Christmas is magical, Holly is discovered by a big producer for her gift of singing and Ivy and Daniel start a relationship. And to all a good night.

Christmas saga
While I enjoyed the book, I found it to be predictable. A "Happily Ever After" was not the issue with predictability . The entire plot announced itself far to often and early. I have read other books of Fern Michael's that I really was able to sink into. Will try another at some point.

Another good read by Fern Michaels.
I always enjoy Fern Michaels's books and this one didn't disappoint. It's a feel good story and an easy read. I read it at one sitting and wished she had another new book for me to read. Having experienced loss in my life, it was comforting to see someone come out of a deep depression by thinking of others and ultimately find happiness herself.
