What a powerful testimony!
I originally had this book lent to me by a friend of David's...so it was a signed copy I made sure I took excellent care of. I read it in just a few days, and could not put it down! I've since bought myself a copy to have and bought a few more for my family. David's testimony is so powerful and the way he gives glory to God for everything is incredible. David's story about how hard the enemy worked to keep him when he started growing toward God is a story I will never forget! Thank you David for this inspiration!

Amazed!
Who would have thought that this book would be about a man learning how to be a "Real Man?" This book shocked me. It was amazing! I read it in two days. David Tyree, I don't know you and I don't watch football, but I am so glad that I ran across this book. Your spiritual transparency was remarkable and needed. You shared your most personal and private moments with the world. You revealed it all...Wow! This encouraged me and challenged me. I now have a boldness to tell my story because of how you told yours. It is unpopular to so many guys to be a Christian and to stand for God, but you Sir have inspired a generation of men and made it cool to be a believer in Christ. I applaud you. I prayed for you when I finished reading your book that you continue to stay the course. Blessings to you Sir.

Must read book
Thank you David Tyree for sharing your journey through darkness to the light of Jesus. This book is inspiring for people who are not Christians to get saved and for Christians to walk a closer walk with Christ. David is a strong Christian, good husband and father. From addiction to alcohol to super bowel champion. David shows how God wants us to be successful when we trust him. This is a book for everyone who needs to see what God can do in our lives if we let him. God bless David Tyree.

Inspiring!
I heard about this book through Jonathan Cahn's video on the Harbinger. I had to get it afterwards, and loved the honesty of David Tyre's story, and his desire to honor God in the telling of it - so that he could be a help to others.

Spiritual book about the player behind the greatest catch in Super Bowl history.
In the autobiography “More Than Just The Catch: A True Story of Courage, Hope, and Achieving the Impossible” written by David Tyree, highlights the idea that miracles can come true. This is proven by the religious aspect of the book, where Tyree talks about his commitment to god.The book is told in the first person perspective by David Tyree. He is a backup/practice squad wide receiver for the New York Giants. David made a lot of mistakes in his life, but after a crucial one costs him his NFL career, he turns to God for guidance. After he commits his life to God, things start to go David’s way. The major event that Tyree praises and thanks God for amazing “helmet catch” in the Superbowl, which helped the Giants win. In the past David was more of a special teams player, who smoked and drank, and was not committed to his wife and son. After turning to God with his life, he is now a household name because of his catch, no longer smokes or drinks, and has settled down with his wife and children. In my personal opinion, I did not enjoy this autobiography as much as I thought I would . I am a New York Giants fan, and I was disappointed because Tyree barely talked about the Giants. Also it felt like I was reading something I would get in church, because of how much he praised god. Although the football aspects of this book were good, the religious part of it damaged my opinion of it. However, I did like how David’s life got better as he committed himself to God. The thing that stood out to me most about the author’s style was his use of biblical allusions. For example, David refers to himself as David from the bible when describing how his job on the field is important, yet overlooked. This autobiography is an okay read if you enjoy football, but would be appreciated even more if you are very religious.

I enjoyed this book as it gave insight to who David ...
I enjoyed this book as it gave insight to who David Tyree was and is, He does not take credit for his accomplishments but instead realizes a higher power in his life.

It's Both A Great Gift, And Yet A Terrible Let-Down To Own
This is a tricky review, as it has it's good side and it's bad depending on what you're looking for (hence my 3 Star rating) I had the benefit of knowing what to expect from this book going in thanks to David Tyree's interview on the old Opie & Anthony satellite radio show. And I hope I can somehow provide the information necessary for others to make a happy purchasing decision.First of all, as you can most likely imagine, this book shouldn't even exist. This catch would be solid enough for a NFL Films or ESPN 5 minute vignette, but not an entire book. This is made even more clear as the book consists of above-average sized font, a picture section that includes recreations of the catch along with the standard family photos and whatnot, a description of his diet/workout, and of course (with these types of books) a whole look-back into David Tyree's upbringing. That would be properly interesting if this was an autobiography (about a proper superstar) but when it's about a guy who made a lucky catch (1 of just 4 receptions that year) who would sit out the following season to a knee injury the following year before being cut from the team. As a sort of interesting book, this fails hard (to no-ones' surprise)But then why do I say it's good? First thing's first, I've purchased this book twice; once because my brother is a insane Patriot's fan; so to remind him about The Catch is just an amazing Christmas gift. And I have a copy for myself, as I'm a bit of a hipster who love's the fact that I own such a terrible book (I also own Sully Sullenberger's stupid plane crash book, as well as many other odd, weird, ironic, forms of media) Plus let's be real, if you're a loyal Giant's fan, you'll probably want another piece of NYG history. So if you keep this all in mind, hopefully you'll make the more informed decision of whether you want this book or not!
