Question 1

Would this product be useful to help transition African-American hair from relaxed to natural?

Accepted Answer

If I understood your question, you want to know if your chemically relaxed hair can return to its natural texture...? As a user of coconut oil and as a hair stylist I can tell you that other than moisturizing, this oil cannot revert a chemical hair process... In order to get your curls back you need to be evaluated by a professional because it will depend on the product used to relax your hair.

Question 2

Coconut oil is coming up as a great treatment for oral health. Do you brush your teeth before or after a rinse with coco nut oil.?

Accepted Answer

Hi Main Line Mama,Oil pulling is an ancient practice in Ayurvedic medicine, shown to naturally accelerate the body's detoxification process. Place 1 tablespoon of coconut oil in the mouth and swish for 20 minutes. Swishing activates enzymes and the enzymes draw toxins out of the blood. It is recommended to complete this process on an empty stomach, best in the morning. After 20 minutes, spit out the end product in the trash can and brush your teeth following this step. This will rev up your metabolism for the day and promote healthier gums and teeth due to the health-promoting saturated fatty acids found in coconut oil. Keep in mind that refined coconut oil, derived from dried coconut, does not reap the same benefits as unrefined, organic coconut oil. Viva Labs Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil is 100% pure, unrefined coconut oil, retaining all of its nutritional properties. Question 3

Is this non-hydrogenated?

Accepted Answer

Hi Min7, Coconut oil is naturally a hydrogenated fat so it does not need to go through a hydrogenation process. This is what makes it stable! Question 4

I s this a liquid or creamy texture ?

Accepted Answer

Ours arrived in a liquid form and has remained a liquid. Previous purchase was more of a soft solid which we prefer.
