11 Ounce Safari Charlie's Lube Plus Gun Lubricant & Protectant Deep Surface Cleansing, 11 oz

I live in the high desert of New Mexico, where the dust is so fine that vacuum cleaner companies do testing here for their filters! OIl and fine dust or sand make an excellent abrasive. So good that the Indians used that combination to drill turquoise. Needless to say, that wreaks havoc on wearing firearm parts. This product solves that issue. The lubricant dries and lubricates without the oily base. Parts are easy to clean. It works great on bores and in my opinion reduces bore fouling. If one uses an oil base protectant here on blued metal, by the time one gets to the end of the road one can see where the dust has collected around the oiled parts, especially fingerprints, regardless of how much one attempts to wipe the oil off. This product does not do that. Lubrication and preservation is at the microscopic level. I shoot long distance (1000 yards) as well as own a ranch where I carry pistols and lever guns frequently. As a firearms instructor, I also teach shooting at the ranch and my firearms see a lot of use. The only time one will need another cleaning product is if shooting black powder or chemically cleaning copper from a bore. I highly recommend this product, especially for firearms used in desert conditions, although I think it will work good in more moist climates as well. I also use Super Slick Slick Stuff by the same manufacturer for my equipment, vehicles, and tools for the same reasons. To avoid the combination of oil and dust, a combination that will increase wear. Oh yeah, it does have a citrus smell and my wife does not object (as much) when it is too cold to clean guns in the shop.

The product is real good. Not to greasy. Break up carbon deposits fairly well. Not sticky to use, hence no carbon sticking. Cleans action well. Tube clear with minimal effort.

I'm a serious hobbyist shooter. I found Safari Charlie's (SC) Lube plus at a small gun store and thought I'd throw the store some business and buy a can. Didn't try it for 6 mos, then one day used it on a really dirty 22 pistol. WOW! The carbon and soot, after sitting for ten minutes, just rolled off. I sprayed it on a Government 1911- same result. Truly cleans and lubes like it says, AND it smells like oranges to my old nose. I started using the SC on all my firearms and am really happy. Turned into a 5 star purchase! Then, I ran out. When I returned to the store it was gone from their shelves. I went online and found it; whoa, the price increased to the point my eyes blinked. It went from around 12 to 20. Ouch. I sucked it up and purchased my second can. I think this is a great product that would benefit from some solid advertising and a price that entices someone to try it and become a regular customer. Nevertheless, strongly recommended as a fantastic cleaning and lube product. The price cost it a star.

Cleans well and does not have a bad odor

I like the multi use lube and cleaners. This one smells awesome, so you won't offend your wife. It doesn't harm any of your composites, so you don't have to stress about where you get it. It does a good job cleaning and is suppose to leave a coating that makes it easier to clean every time you use it. I'm not sure if I see that, but I like the product. Then it is also an oil or lube so you don't have to swap over, just put on a clean coat and wipe dry. It may have some issues with really hard built up stuff, but I usually don't get that because I clean my guns regularly. I always have hoppes around if I want to let something really set and soak. I honestly haven't let this sit and soak for a long time.

This product performed more and better than expected. Will continue to keep some around.
