Recommended for Ford Explorer 2005
Works for 2005 Ford Explorer. There are many out there that claim to, but this is the real deal.

Good connector
I was about to return this connector, but, I was making some research and I took the chance and I have to say that this connector works very well to install aftermarket stereo on 2001 Lincoln Executive, very easy to install, good quality

This is all you need for a 2004 Ford Ranger
Fit perfectly in my 2004 Ford Ranger XLT with no unused wires. The Illumination wire (orange wire) properly dims my aftermarket touchscreen when I toggle the headlights. About as plug-and-play as it gets! Hard to go wrong with Metra brand, Iโve used their products for years! Three things to note about the install: 1. The Metra brand double-din install kit for this vehicle positions the radio too far into the dash for aftermarket radios with volume knobs, so I went with the PAC-FMK552 kit ($10 at BestBuy). The new radio sits flush with easier access to volume knob and controls. 2. The dash bezel will need to be trimmed, regardless of which brand of install kit you get. The Ford factory radio is slightly smaller than the standard double-din, so trimming is a result of the factory radio being smaller than standard. I removed the bezel from the vehicle so I could sit in the garage with the aftermarket radio and test fit it as I worked on it. You only need to remove the 1/8โ lip on the top and bottom of the radio hole in the factory bezel. This minimal trimming is made easy with a Dremel tool equipped with a routing bit. Took me about 15 minutes to get a perfect fit. 3. After several hours of searching forums with no answer, I found out that you DO NOT need an adapter for the AM/FM antenna on this vehicle. The factory antenna plug in the 2004 Ranger is the standard Motorola plug that most antenna adapters adapt to. So, the factory antenna plug fits directly into most aftermarket radios.
