Review: Easy set-up for Samsung TV's with "SoundShare" - If you are expecting audiophile or surround-sound quality (for only $160), you won't get that, but it's a BIG improvement over the TV speakers. To sync the sub-woofer to the soundbar, you simply press a paper clip into a hole and then press MUTE on the remote for 5 seconds. The sub-woofer links up to the soundbar wirelessly. Put the subwoofer wherever you want. For Samsung TV owners: If your TV is a model that has "SoundShare", a window then pops up on your TV screen that says that it has detected an external sound device and would you like to connect it? "Yes". The soundbar hooks up wirelessly and takes over the sound. The TV's remote operates the volume, making the soundbar's remote unnecessary. If you have a different brand of TV, or maybe an older Samsung or one with fewer features, there are 4 other options for hooking up, but they may require a cable from the soundbar to TV and it is "possible" that your TV remote will not control the volume. Or maybe it will. I turned off the soundbar and the TV sound came back and you realize how much depth the soundbar and sub-woofer add -- much fuller, although this little sub-woofer "fills in" nicely but is not going to rock the room. But the tiny TV speakers have almost no base at all, so the improvement is significant. The refurbished unit I received looked new in every way - no guarantees, of course - and for the price, I thought it was a good value. If you have a Samsung TV with SoundShare. set-up is easy - no cables required. Review: Samsung HW-450 Soundbar - Refurbished - I am pleased to say that the Samsung Soundbar works pretty much as promised. It has the features that I considered important--Bluetooth connectivity and a Wireless Subwoofer. I am somewhat unusual in that I purchased it for use in a bathroom (not where it would come in direct contact with water, obviously, and had it professionally installed with a GFI outlet by a licensed electrician). I use this unit with a Samsung Galaxy G5 water-resistant telephone which has loaded my entire CD collection. I set the soundbar on BT and it remains at this setting even after turning it off. I turn it on, move the volume to level 23, and then go to my phone and find the screen that says settings, Bluetooth, and Samsung Air Track. It connects and then the music plays from the phone. (The phone cannot be taken in the shower as the water reacts to the screen and the music tracks to be played become unpredictable.) The phone is mounted on the wall directly outside the shower (using Velcro) where it can be reached to adjust the volume, album, tracks, etc. It is a pretty nice arrangement and works fairly well. The bass module is mounted near the ceiling as is the soundbar and the outlet to power the two units. The sound is pretty good and the volume is more than adequate to develop a listening level higher than both the exhaust fan and shower. I'm not sure as to what the humidity might do to the unit, however, but, if it fails, I will just go and purchase something similar in the future to take its place. Overall, I am satisfied with this solution to provide music and entertainment when taking a shower at a reasonable cost and without drilling huge speaker holes into the drywall with separate amplification, etc.

This Samsung HW-F450 280-Watt sound bar is great for anything you are looking to use it for
Product Review: Samsung HW-F450 / HW-FM45C/ZA 2.1 Channel 280-Watt Soundbar If you are looking for a sound bar to fulfill your needs and wants, this is the product to get. This Samsung HW-F450 280-Watt sound bar is great for anything you are looking to use it for. It surpassed the expectations I had when I bought it here on Amazon and think it will for you as well. I think that for reasons under the following criteria: set-up, sound, bass, Bluetooth, and cables to connect to the device of your choice (HDMI, USB, etc.). This product couldnโt get any easier to set-up. It takes less than 10 minutes to get everything going. Getting it out of the box and plugging everything in is easy and simple. You can be using this high quality product in no time. Another reason why I think this product is worthy of 5 stars is because of the sound and bass. The quality of the sound is perfect and is very clear when coming out of the speakers. The bass is very deep and complements the sound so it sounds smooth together. One of my favorite things about this sound bar is the Bluetooth. It allows you to play music on your phone and move throughout the room without any problems. Though it will cut your connection if you get to far out of reach. Overall this product is a 5 out of 5 stars and is well worth the money. I would strongly suggest buying this sound bar because you will enjoy using it. There isnโt a sound bar I have used that has compared to it for its price.

Bluetooth worked fine w/ my ipod touch
So version shipped was not the one in picture. I have a 50" samsung tv and hdmi would not work. Did not have a usb cable or optical to try that. Bluetooth worked fine w/ my ipod touch. Also worked fine hooked to computer via 3.5mm jack. Sub had just faintest sound. Tried repairing it mulitple times and moved it 5 feet from sound bar with no success. Honestly sound bar was not very loud. Was more ok id say. Packed nicely and looked fine just sucked that hdmi cable which I know work would not and that nothing evening following instructions on their website would get the sub to work. I rarely return things on Amazon but this one sadly is going back.

Great sound and feature set
This is great. It has dramatically improved the sound from our Samsung television. Setup was very easy - the subwoofer paired right away without the issues others seem to be experiencing. The sound quality is excellent without much configuration. The small remote gives quick access to all the features which can further refine your sound. The subwoofer volume buttons are particularly helpful when switching between talking head documentaries and films with lots action scenes. The compressor can be a bit aggressive and cause loud parts of a soundtrack to be much too loud relative to the dialogue. Some tweaking of the EQ presets and the dynamic range compressor fixed it, although I wish it was but more automatic for the novice user. The HDMI in/outs are great so you can set this up with minimal wiring. The additional inputs are useful. I have an Airport Express going into the aux jack so I can listen to AirPlay music through the system. Autoswitching of sources would be nice but manual adjustment is easy. If you're still listening to TV through your lousy onboard speakers, take the plunge and upgrade. You'll be pleasantly surprised at how much better your viewing experience is.

but better than the built-in speakers on my TV
Mediocre sound, but better than the built-in speakers on my TV, which is all I was looking for. The sub woofer is very weak, but again this did not bother me; I got a sound bar because I don't wish to disturb my neighbors in my apartment complex. Sub woofer died after 7 months, so I do not recommend this product. Update: After re-syncing the subwoofer, the unit worked perfectly for about a year and a half and sounded great, then the subwoofer stopped working again. It no longer syncs properly and cuts out constantly. I'm increasing my rating from 2 to 3 stars just because I experienced what it's supposed to sound like, but the reliability is still quite poor.

Great Sound for the Budget Conscious
This is a refurbished item. I was hoping for receive the HW-F450 model, but received the HW-FM45C/ZA model. From further research, they seem to be about the same. Other than that personal preference, everything is great. I installed it on an older Samsung Plasma TV. The speakers on the TV are terrible compared to this. I can finally hear sound clearly instead of muted. I don't have the volume set very high - usually only about 10. The sub-woofer doesn't do to much at that volume, but you can tell it is there. If I increase the volume to 15 or higher, you can really feeling the sub-woofer kick in. The setup was easy. The provided remote even controls my TV. It came with a digital audio cable. I didn't realize that and had purchased another separately. The only item included that you could tell was not new was a photo copied manual. It was also missing the Toroidal ferrite core on the unit I received. I am very happy with the purchase on performance of this product.

Very nice sound, scratches on the front of the bar
I'd give it a 4.5 if I could. I got this about 2 months ago and I love the sound. I turned off the sound on my TV and set it up so it automatically uses the soundbar and the subwoofer when I turn it on (I think this option is only available with the optical cable). My tv is 6 years old, so I liked that it has usb, hdmi, bluetooth, optical, audio cable options. I am connected with optical, since my tv doesn't have the right hdmi input (ARC). I can also play songs from my iphone/ipad with bluetooth and the sound is clear as long as the device is in the same room, otherwise it might also get disconnected. It arrived on time, but this refurbished soundbar has a lot of scratches in the front, glossy-glassy looking portion. But is not visible unless you go near it. I think it was a good deal for the price.
