Better than expected, works great.
Used on a Canon 5D.The surface of the sensor is in clear, sharp focus at full extension of the lens. Looking at some of the reviews, I was skeptical. Now I have to wonder of the users removed the protective plastic film from the lens before use! (LOL). The nature of the lens causes a significant pincushion effect, and the sensor lacks detail or contrast for your eyes to focus, but the dust on it's surface really stands out. I use expensive wipes and have often had to use 3 or 4 (nearly $20 worth). By being able to see the dust, it took less time compared to snapping a white-photo for verification AND I used 2 swabs. Battery life: I am tempted to run the included batteries down to time their duration. I think I had the lights on for maybe 90 seconds for one good cleaning. The tool comes with a cap, base, and a bag which should help keep it clean between uses. Plastic, yes, but appears plenty durable. If you clean your own sensor(s) you really do need one of these types of tools. This works great for 1/5 the price of the "standard".

Expectations
The first thing I will say is I thought this would fit over the frame lens opening of my Pentax K-r. It is slightly bigger so the lenspen will not be fixed. If you are not careful it will move all over the place so you have to hold it in place. Still, I'm able to use use it. It does illuminate the sensor to enable you to see the dust particles. Using a sensor swab takes a little work and getting use to. I actually had to lift the lenspen a bit to be able to access the sensor. The battery life is awful as it doesn't last long. Other than that, it does the job.

Doesn't really work well at all
This item really didn't work at all. The LED lights were so dim that it barely lit up the sensor area at all. The lens has a screw mechanism that allows it to be raised and lowered to focus, but no position had a really clear focus point. I was able to see the sensor better with my 1.5X magnification glasses than I could with this item. Maybe my unit was just defective and had bad LEDs and/or a bad magnification lens but the overall build quality wasn't very good so my guess is that this was just not a very good purchase.I tried using this item on both a D700 and D7000 and I tried using it both at night and during the day (in case the amount of ambient light made a difference). None of this made any real difference.I ended up returning the item as defective but my confidence in getting a replacement that is any better is very low.Andrew

Does the Job
I checked out all the sensor viewing loupes on Amazon and settled on this one because of the included light, 6x power and low price. It does the job of finding dirt on the sensor. In my case I used it on a Nikon D300 and D7000. I placed it on the camera, but I couldn't get a sharp focus. I found that holding it slightly above the camera brought the sensor into focus. I also found that to avoid the reflections and bright spots from the light, I had to move it around to see all the sensor. the batteries lasted for the entire cleaning, so I did not have a battery issue. I would find the dust spots, then work with a brush or wet swab to remove them and then use the loupe to see if the sensor was clean. As I final check I took a picture of a blank wall. It took about 3 tries to get use to using the loupe and finding dirt.In my opinion it would be difficult to remove dirt while the loupe was in place. Access to the sensor through the opening is not all that great. As I had to lift and hold the loupe above the camera and then move the loupe to see all the sensor I don't think I could remove dirt at the same time.

Tried it on D600
To start off I will say I did not like this loupe. It did not seem to get focus close enough on the sensor to see dust. I don't think it is powerful enough. The opening was way to small and awkward to leave the loupe on during cleaning. When the sensor looked clean through the loupe I would take a test shot and see more dust. Now I believe these were very fine particles, but they showed up in the images so I would think I would be able to see them through the loupe.Lastly, and this is the reason I am returning this product the batteries are tiny and do not last long(maybe 10 minutes of use) and the switch/battery compartment connectors were not working correctly. I would switch the unit off and set it down and the LEDs would come back on. I would push on the battery cover and they would switch off and go back on when the loupe was set down.PS-The sensor pen worked pretty well though when you know or can see the dust.

Great product for checking your sensor during cleaning
Did exactly what I needed at a good price. After inserting the batteries and a simple focus adjustment, it easily allowed me to see the dust and other objects on my sensor both before and after cleaning so that I could confirm it was clean before taking a flat field image to ensure there were no problems. The LEDs were bright enough and at the right angles to light up particles and other problems on the sensor filter surface. The opening on the side of the loupe was good for inserting a blower to clean off the final objects left after swabbing with Eclipse. I found that I could not use the opening to allow the brush to reach the entire sensor surface for pre-cleaning before swabbing, but this was not really a problem. It was just as easy to pick up the loupe, brush the sensor, then put the loupe back down to ensure the larger particles were gone. The package of six button batteries that comes with the loupe provides backup since the unit only requires three batteries to work. I also liked the covers that come with it for both ends of the loupe to ensure it isn't damaged in storage, as well as the draw-string bag that it stores in.

Fait son travail
Bonjour,La loupe est très pratique et facilite le nettoyage du capteur. Le grossissement est correct et la vision est nette on voit bien les poussières sur le capteur. La loupe est en plastique, mais parer solide elle est livré avec 2 piles.

Exceptional Customer Service from Lenspen
The retailer supplying this product supplied a version of the product that was out of date and because the batteries did not fit the product did not work. I emailed Lenspen in Canada and received a reply almost by return offering to replace the product, no questions asked, which I gratefully accepted. The Sensor Klean Loupe was sent out from Canada on Tuesday and arrived this morning Thursday. I regard this as exceptional customer service and definitely unexpected but very welcome.Oh, and the product works great and I now have a clean sensor.

bien

Invaluable but a little expensive
I bought the Lenspen SensorKlean Pen separately believing that I would be able to see all the dust specs on my sensor with the naked eye. I was wrong! While using the pen on its own undoubdtedly got rid of the worst of the dust there remained an annoyingly large number of very small dust particles and it wasn't until I'd used the Loupe that I found these and dealt with them. The Loupe is a well designed and very useful piece of kit and one that I'd recommend, however it is somewhat over-priced for what it is so gets a star deducted for that.

Excellent product.
I was very pleased with this. It arrived on time and does the job very well. I am much happier using this than the sensor wipes. The loupe is essential, it lets you see every bit of dust on the sensor.
