Just arrived, unboxed, assembled.
It went together well. plan to use it installing Modin 9" x 0.28" SPC. I heard this may be the hardest SPC to cut. It worked pretty well on a test cut., but took more force to cut than in the videos where they only show LVT cuts. May want ear protection as it makes a very loud bang when the board is split. It did make a perfect cut, though I had to pull the 2 pieces apart since the blade didn't touch the attached rubber underlay . My concern is that although the manufacturer recommends honing the blade after every 40 cuts, a sharpening stone is not included (like it is for some other similar products like the EB). And if I purchase a stone separately from amzn, it will add another 20-30 to the expense of this purchase. Will try to f/u after project is complete or something unexpected happens. Update: Flooring is in. GREAT PRODUCT! I made 40-50 cuts, all straight 90 degrees with no problem. All cuts were perfect. Much faster, cleaner and less effort than a knife or saw. (Though I did use a circular saw for rips and a jig for u-cuts.) I wasn't expecting it to hold up to stone-poly composite type of "LVT". I would buy again for this job, and highly recommend.

Perfect for cutting XL sized vinyl plank flooring
I am so glad I made this purchase. Perfect for cutting XL sized vinyl plank flooring! The โscore and snapโ method worked perfectly fine on the smaller less expensive vinyl plank we installed in the basement. When we bought the much larger XL planks for our main floor I knew we were going to need something to cut the giant planks as they were not only thicker but much wider. This tool saved me so much time. It makes extremely sharp and precise cuts which is perfect for those ends that may be visible because you have no way to hide the edge. Those spots may be places that butt up to something like a patio sliding door or a marble transition between a bathroom and another room. The cuts were be so precise that the ends of 8 boards we cut to end at our sliding patio doors line up so perfectly and make super clean line. So why did we choose this tool? After doing some research we chose this over the ones at the big box stores because it was cheaper, shipped and arrived much quicker, and it came from a company in the US. As a bonus it included free extras which were very helpful. One word of warning, donโt use the included free tapping block if the handle is broken. The knob on my block was shattered exposing the threaded bolt on top. I emailed support for a replacement and never got a response. I liked the included block much more than the one I already had so I went ahead and used it. Well about 3/4 through the project I was in an odd spot trying to tap in a plank when the hammer missed the block and I whacked the pad of my index finger into the treads of the bolt. OUCH! The damage to my finger was severe and permanent. Please donโt use the block if itโs broken!

Sent me the wrong product twice but Standard is good enough
Just a heads up, I ordered the Extended version with accessory kit and recieved the Standard cutting tool instead (with no accesories). When I started the return process, I explained the issue and guess what... They sent me the wrong version a second time. So this review is actually about the Standard edition, not the Extended since I have no experience with that version. This tool probably cut the installation time in half for a flooring job. No need to take planks outside to cut them unless they were long way cuts or odd cuts. So almost no saw dust. You can perform the cuts in the bedroom your flooring so it speeds things up. My planks have underlayment foam (2mm) under it which this also cut through. While it doesn't perfectly cut through the Mohawk 10mm laminate flooring material I bought from Costco, the upper most visible part of the plank is a nice straight cut, which gets sloppier and more ragged toward the bottom of the cut. Since in most cases your cut edges are hidden under baseboard trim it's not a big deal at all. Anyone complaining about this is probably installing their flooring wrong anyway. My 16 year old daughter could not perform a cut on her own, so you do have to use a decent amount of force to perform the cut. I'm over 200lbs so my weight was sufficient to cut 10mm plank + 2mm foam. But you light weights out there might want to consider this. Also, before I started, I adjusted the blade height per the instructions. This was fairly easy to do. Just unscrew two screws on the footing side that needs adjustment, and rotate the round footing piece clockwise or counter-clockwise to lower or raise the blade on that side with the provided hex tool. Once you have the blade height set perfectly on both sides reinsert the two screws in the footing and tighten. Norske's instruction booklet says it doesn't need adjustment from the factory, but mine did need adjustment to be even height. I found the blade was square with the guide, so not adjustments needed there, although the version I received didn't look like there was a way to adjust that anyhow. Since the construction is plastic and aluminum I recommend using hand tools to not strip any parts for assembly. For the room I floored, I probably did over 60 cuts and it performed well. I imagine it could handle hundreds of cuts more with no problem. Norske's instructions say you can hone the blade for additional use. Anyhow, two thumbs up! I would recommend this product.

VERY LITTLE RESIDUE AND DUST USING THIS METHOD; WATCH OUT FOR THE HANDLE RETURN!
The guillotine feature is impressive and cut through the 12mm Aqua Seal product used in this first project; when the handle to initiate cutting begins, there seems is a hesitancy to cut and it feels like the operation isn't going to work; however, once the downward pressure continues, there is the snapping of the product. Oftentimes the edge of the cut was chipped, but the cut side would be hidden by floor molding.....it just isn't the clean cut one might like. BEWARE.......THERE IS THE WARNING TO KEEP THE HANDLE IN YOUR CONTROL AT ALL TIMES AT IT WILL RETURN TO THE UP POSITION AND WHACK YOU WITHOUT DISCRETION! PAY HEED!! Some models have a chain to prevent this quick return feature. A hydraulic return feature would be far safer. The VERY BEST FEAURE IS THERE IS NO FINE DUST CREATED AS THERE IS WITH SAWING MATERIAL! While a few chips from the cut will go flying with the HDL material used in this project, the option to use the guillotine method is far superior for straight cuts! The test will be to use it for additional jobs.....the 13" blade is impressive but with narrow material [6-7"] only half the blade is used; would be great if it were reversible to use the entire length. NO NEED TO PURCHASE THE KIT WITH THE INSTALLATION ITEMS, I.E. Rubber mallet, spacers, pry bar, knocking block: these were very cheaply made and not work the additional cost.

I could have rented one...
I can't help it, I'm just the kind of person who has to have my own tools, even though I may only ever use it once. Having the tool actually makes me more likely to use it again (at least that's what I tell myself). This is a great tool for engineered hardwood. It made the job very easy and fast. It's a big cutter with a long handle...and the flooring was no match for it. Makes an unexpectedly loud noise when cutting the boards, but the cut itself is smooth and didn't require any further effort or sanding/filing cut edges. I did this 8 x 10 room in just about 8 hours (first timer) using Bruce engineered hardwood and cork underlayment. So yeah, I could have rented one from HoDepo, but now I have the tool and the days are numbered for that carpet in the bedroom...

Speeds up the job!
Overall, a great tool to lay wood laminate flooring. I used it to cut 12mm w/attached padding. As some customers stated, it will leave the edge somewhat ragged. But the top edge of all my cuts were clean to about the halfway point of the cut. Doesn't really matter since this edge ends up under baseboard. Made the job much quicker than using a miter saw. I spent $65 on a blade to use, specific for laminate flooring. After 2 small rooms, the miter saw blade will barely cut through the boards. So this tool is a welcome addition to the tool chest.

Works awesome.
Bought this because my daughter was putting down all new laminate floors in her new house. At first we used a saw. What a mess it made. Was told about this type of tool. Had good ratings on Amazon so we bought it. What an easy convenient tool to use. We just love it. It cuts perfect with no mess at all. Anyone whoโs looking to put down laminate floors should definitely own this. What a difference in saving time and clean up. You wonโt regret buying this.

Cutting is a lot quicker and cleaner
I used this to install LVP and it was really nice. It just does a quick cut, doesn't make a mess and in the middle of a square room you can get a lot of work done with it quickly. I also had some angle areas, which this helped with. Knowing that my wall was at 45 degrees, I could do quick cuts as I went. Having to do the long lengths with a jigsaw really shows how this product shines because when you use a saw of some sort it takes longer and makes a lot of mess on the floor.

Works well on 12mm laminate
I choose the version with the extension table and the tools pack. Is worthy for the little price difference. The tool is easy to assemble. Please follow ALL instructions from the manual when assembling and using it. It cuts well a 12mm laminate. The cut distance marked on the side comes handy. Considering that the cut gets covered by the wall trimmings, I have no problem with the little rough surface left. All guillotine cutters will do the same but this one leaves just a little of broken width. I wish the handle would by more rigid. Overall a very good tool for the price. Make sure you hold the plank steady with your foot during the cut.

Amazing tool,and time saving!
Tool was very easy to assemble. We covered 900 square feet of surface with LVP (luxury vinyl plank flooring) and it was making sharp, precise and easy cuts up until the very last piece! It makes a very clean cut each time. We experimented and cut 1/8 inch and 1/4 inch off the end of a piece and it did it with absolute accuracy! I don't know how other buyers could possibly complain about this tool. We have renovated our entire basement from floor to ceiling and this is hands down my favourite tool !
