Question 2

Is this good for rooting phalenopsis?

Accepted Answer

Question 3

What is the best way to water my orchid now that I have potted it in this mix?

Accepted Answer

Hello, thank you for your question. Only water the orchid when the top of the soil feels dry. You can water from the top of the soil. Allow water to drain out completely from the bottom. Do not let the plant sit in the water. You can also bottom water the plant, allow the plant to sit in water for 10 min or until top soil seems moist. You can then remove the pot from the bottom tray/saucer, throw away water in tray/saucer and place pot back onto tray/saucer. Another method to know when to water is the weight of the pot/plant. Feel the weight of the container; it will be heavy. Feel the difference between a freshly watered plant and one that has gone without water for a few days. As the potting mixture dries out, the planter gets lighter. The weight of the pot is an indicator of whether your plant needs water or not. Also, you can stick your finger down into the bark—go about two inches—if it's dry two inches down, it's ready for water. Hope this helps, BV

Is this all you need for repotting anthium?
