Modway Engage Mid-Century Modern Upholstered Fabric Accent Arm Lounge Chair in Azure, Armchair

I bought two beige chairs. They arrived packed very well and a few days earlier than expected. The fabric is great, not rough or scratchy. The color was exactly as pictured. They seem to be well made and very solid. They are large. As most other reviews have stated, they are FIRM. Like 10 out of 10 firm. I don’t mind this at all and still find them pretty comfortable, but I do hope they break in just a little more as they are used. I’m happy with them!

This chair is pretty and big. It is also hard and not so comfortable. The seat is so firm that it makes you sit up higher than anyone else in the room. A pillow is needed to soften the back. I have a love hate relationship with this chair. I love the look but hate how uncomfortable it is.

These are absolutely beautiful chairs!!!! They are a little stiff to start but after sitting in them they soften up. The back height is perfect as it comes up to my shoulders (I am 5'4) and my son and I can sit in one chair and read his books. If seating is tight (we had a New Years party) adults were even sitting 2 per chair. Color is very rich looking and assembly is a breeze. I get compliments on these chairs all the time. They are mod, but modern at the same time. Absolutely beautiful! Please don't mind the baseball in my photo below! It was long winter!

It was really a good looking nicely made piece of furniture but not at all comfortable. It was probably as comfortable as the box it came in. Seriously! Also definitely made for tall people. I didn't keep it long enough to see if it ever softened. The return was so easy with Amazon. I vowed to never purchase a big item like this again without being able to try it out. I felt guilty about the return.

I was engaged by the rhapsodic reviews of this chair. It is very stylish and seems very sturdy. It looks great in my mid-mod living room. It was simple to put together, however, once done one of the legs caused the chair to be out of balance. I overcame this by removing the floor pad on the bottom of the leg and adding some washers and a different pad (in part because the original one broke when I removed it), and that solved the balance issues. A minor inconvenience for me, perhaps not to others. The chair itself is a VERY firm sit. It's not uncomfortable but there is almost no give in the cushion. Additionally, I am 5'4" and this is a very deep sit. I cannot sit in the chair as configured and have my feet on the floor, so additional pillows are warranted either way.

I am so in love with this chair. It is firm, but it holds up well and it is a large chair I can curl up in with a good book. I have three pets and the hair is easily vacuumed off and even though it’s a light color it is pretty resistant to muddy paws. My only complaint about this chair is I bought one to make sure I liked it and when I went to buy the second one the price increased a pretty substantial amount so I waited to see if it would go back down in price but it never did. I ended up waiting a few months and the price never went back down so I sucked it up and bought the second one. Other than that, I am very happy with these chairs.

Let's cut to the chase: I am pleasantly surprised and extremely pleased with this chair. Given the reviews and for the price, I had expected it to be kinda chintzy but I am pleased to report it has the quality of a Crate & Barrel piece. Everything from the packaging to the way the legs are stored to the wrap it comes in to the velcro protectors indicates this piece was made to last and modway takes pride in their work. The very first thing I did was open the box up (from the bottom is easiest) and inspect the leg holes, and they were fine. There's a very faint white scuff on the top of it, but that might have been my doing getting it up the stairs. I think it says 60lbs but it doesn't feel that heavy. I got it through my front door, up the stairs (easy to roll up), and through my office door (which is a little narrow) without any problems by myself. The sit is firm, but I think it's just right. I feel well supported and there's no way this cushion will ever sag, although I do think it will soften slightly with time. The fabric feels very nice and warm to the touch, it could be mistaken for a more expensive material. Be sure to take good measurements of your space as it is a wider chair, but that's what I love about it. All in all, I'm very satisfied and would order from modway again.

While the chair itself is a great size and heft, the cushions leave something left to be desired. They're fairly hard foam where padded and almost hard wood in other places making for an experience that really just needs some more softness. Chair is fairly easily assembled and disassembled through for moving.
