Awesome looking bag, great way to carry DSLR and laptop
I bought this bag after I was left disappointed in another canvas camera bag. Reasons why I chose this are pretty simple. The canvas material looked good from the pictures, and also the leather straps were not the typical PU leather which are terrible. -First impressions are the size is good, I chose the XL size, as I plan to carry camera gear in it, mixed with a 15" macbook. So the size fits this purpose. -As a camera bag, this is unpadded, so it is not a 'camera bag' from the get go. If you plan on using it to carry just a body with a lens and maybe a couple filters/memory cards this will work in it's current state. I did this with a previous canvas bag until the straps broke from the bag. -As a real camera bag, the plan is to buy a rectangular foam camera case, that can allow me to organize my body, and two lenses. This will fit nicely in the bag. -Internally, the bag only has 1 zip, the zip is quite big, so I would possibly recommend carrying the laptop in a sleeve before sliding it in or out to avoid scratches. The zip pull is fabric so that shouldn't be an issue. -Externally, there are two pockets, perfect for filters, a small notebook etc, these are secured using two non magnetic snap fasteners per pocket. Good strength to them, compared to the magnet ones that hold main flap of the bag. -The main compartment is also secured with a big zip, however, it has open ends, so in terms of weather and loose objects, it's something to keep an eye on. Other than that, the leather straps and corner guards are nice, they seem to be weathered, and absorb scratches and marks, so it makes for a nice effect over time. The leather is also on the inner side of the shoulder strap. There is also a rear strap one could use to attach something to, I am still looking into what this could be. If there were two, the use would have been even better, say a tripod. I did notice some stitching issues, hopefully they won't lead to issues down the line. I think this is a little more expensive than the entry level canvas bags, but after having tried them, this definitely feels better, and seem so be better built, which is something to keep in mind when you are putting your camera or laptop in there. Would recommend 5 out of 5!

Great so far.
Great leather material that's looks a little rough. it gives it an older vintage look. The size is perfect for what i need for my laptop and books. its very wide and large enough for my 15inch laptop and some books and a pencil case. it has extra compartments inside and outside of the bag. the strap seems really durable. seems like it will last long. I'm still worried about how this bag lasted for some other customers but we will see. so far its the best messenger bag I've owned yet. update, it is a bit uncomfortable as just a shoulder bag and can get pretty heavy with one MacBook, a binder with a half package if paper in it, a not book, a very think gift bible, and a small pencil case. has a lot of storage though. but still holding up and i still love it. update (march 24 2017) still holding up very well. not only now fits my laptop, but fits a largish pencil case, a 1 inch binder filled with papers, and a journaling bible in a large folding case along with another book. i can it two water bottles on the sides. i can also fit a bunch of small tubes of paints (i go to an art college) in the front pocket along with brushes, earbuds, and my wallet. in the other front pocket im able to fit my charger and cord as well as some extras like chap sticks, pens, sticky notes, and a few papers. keeps everything dry as well. it gets heavy but is comfortable on the shoulder. the adjusting straps get a little loose every now and then but kind of to be expected. I still absolutely love this, if not love it even more considering how long it has lasted so far.

Great bag for the price
I got this bag to replace a Walmart cloth bag that I was using to bring my various vitamins and supplements to work and back home daily with me. My wife was telling me more and more that the Walmart bag was ugly and I needed to get something nicer. Initially I looked at leather messenger bags, but saw people having issues with them staining their clothes and generally couldn't find a style that would look good with the variety of work clothes that I wear weekly. I moved on to looking at canvas bags after I did some additional research and found that there are some great prices for very durable bags and ended up choosing this one. I love the color and it is the perfect size to hold all of my vitamins and supplements (about 8 bottles of varying sizes) on a daily basis. The color is a tone that works well with almost everything that I wear which is a huge plus. I've used the bag for a few weeks now and it's held up great and still looks like it did when I first received it. I also like that the clasp for the top flap is magnetic. There are only a couple of issues/gripes I have with the bag. The first is that he side pockets are very hard to access. They are held shut with a leather strap and buckle which I find more difficult to open than it should be. The other issue I have is that, while I love that the top flap clasps are magnetic, it is hard to get them to lock to the magnetized piece on the bag if you aren't looking as you have to be exact on placement. For the price and performance overall I'm extremely happy with the bag and am considering getting another for my wife to use. I will be picking up a Surface Pro in the next month and am happy to know (a coworker has one that I was able to test) that it will also fit in the bag with everything else with ease.

Amazing bag with great looks at an even better price
Not long ago I tried a cheap $7 shoulder or “ammo” bag instead of my backpack for everyday carry of small tools, medical, and concealed carry in some cases. The shoulder bag was ok and very easy to carry but lacked the room of my backpack so I set out to find a vintage styling satchel or messenger bag. In comes Berchirly which I found on a top 10 Youtube countdown, and so far I am not disappointed at all it has a beautiful canvas and leather look which I love as I enjoy this type of rugged look. But where this bag excels is space there’s a ton of room I carry a journal, bible, agenda, tool pouch, med pouch, electronic pouch, pens, pencil, small dop kit, during the winter some gloves and a beanie and it’s not even half full; I fit a GoPro with multiple accessories on occasion and still have room for hopefully a dslr some day. Everything stays organized and easy to grab thinaks to the open setup and I could still easily slide in a small laptop but I am old school and enjoy pen and paper. There a small inside zipper pouch perfect for a small lotion tin, altoids tin, and chapstick. There’s 4 outside pockets the two large on the front you can see that have a ton of room and two small side pockets for lint roller, cologne, sunglasses cleaner and really anything you like. The two large from pockets have snap buttons the two sides are secured with leather straps that are beautiful. The front flap is secured with an easy access magnetic button that opens to a zipper to keep your belongings safe. The strap is rather comfortable even with a little weight as my bag goes everywhere with camera gear and odds and ends. A small pad is attached that you can see in the pictures, while looking good with a leather accent it is actually very comfortable. I typically don’t carry it long distance as it goes from house to vehicle to work or stays in my vehicle if I’m running errands but I wouldn’t hesitate to keep it keep on my should for extended periods if I used it as a camera bag as I plan to I’m the future. This bag has changed my whole outlook on shoulder bags.

An excellent choice for a messenger bag!
This bag is wonderful! I was in search of something to replace my backpack in order to look more professional and mature in an actual job, but desired something casual enough to use outside the office space. I settled on purchasing this bag and I am loving it so far! The aesthetic of this bag is great, I've received numerous compliments from friends, family and co-workers, curious as to where I got it. My work computer is 15.5" and about 1" thick, and there is room in this bag for the laptop as well as many other things, so there is no worry about space. The front pockets are not the largest pockets in the world, but I found they have enough room for everything I would carry on a day to day basis. The materials used on this bag are excellent, not a tear as of yet and I can be rough with it sometimes. The real leather is a great accent to the look of the bag, as well as feeling sturdy and not willing to break on me anytime soon. Outside of the office I have taken this bag on day/weekend trips as well as longer vacations and for what I have put it through the bag really holds up and still looks good enough to take to the office. Whatever use you may have for this bag, whether it be casual carrying or more professional work related, I would highly suggest this bag to do it. It will hold up to whatever you put it through while still looking great. Well worth my money!

Good but not great
If you look around Amazon, you will find a lot of very similar style bags sold by different merchants for different prices. I chose this one for the price, size and reviews. I wish I can give the bag 5 stars but the awful smell that came with it was such a turn off. The first order of the medium size one had a really strong chemical like smell on the inside and a bit on the outside. I had to return it but ordered another one, hoping it would be better. Shipping was fast with Prime for both orders. The second medium still had a smell but was much less than the first. I was torn about to keep it or not. I had to air it out a few days but that didn't help much. Then I decided to hand wash the inside lining with scentless soap and warm water a few times. I couldn't submerge the whole bag given its leather parts. After that, most of the smell was gone except for the top part near zipper where I couldn't wash. I felt I could live with it since other things about the bag was nice. The canvas material is nice. It is thick so it has some structure to it and can actually sit up on it's own without anything in it. The overall stitching looks sturdy. The zipper is metal instead of nylon which I feels is better and adds to the vintage look. The magnetic snaps are decent though I have to fumble to get them snapped most of the time. As some people mentioned, the side buckles are a little annoying to get things out quickly but the straps look great. So what I do is unstrap and insert the flaps inside the pocket. Then I put my phone into the slot for quick access. For the medium size bag, I treat it more like a purse. It's perfect size for my height 5'2". I also use it for a small camera bag sometimes by putting a camera pad insert that I have from other bags. It fits my Canon Mark III with the 35L lens attached and room for another medium size lens. When I use the bag this way, I put my wallet on the side pocket strapped. Then put my toiletries in one of the front pockets. The second front pocket is used for additional camera accessories. The strap isn't padded. It's just a leather patch attached to the strap. Looks nice but not all that comfortable if you wear thin clothes and have heavy items in the bag. I ordered the army green and it didn't look like the picture. The leather straps were a dark leather instead of the pictured light brown but I actually like darker better. The army green is more like a light olive color. The flaps on the top sides by the zipper are annoying. Tucking them down doesn't always stay and when they're up, they look ugly. It would be nice instead of the belt strap on the back, there would be a large pocket. It's an overall good looking mostly functional bag. But the smell and some cons, I give it 3.5 stars.

Stylish, portable, easy access, low maintenance, tolreable to weather, and can be used with formal & informal wear!
Stylish, portable, easy access, low maintenance, could be used with formal & informal wear; these are all the things I was looking for in my couple days of research and I found it here with Berchirly Canvas. I am a college student and was looking for a new back-pack over the summer, since my old one broke, and then I decided that switching to a satchel might be a better option. A satchel has always been a dream of mine to own; however I had to do a lot of research to figure out what kind. The leather satchels offer a very professional and very classy look to them; however, leather material (as I already knew) was going to take a lot of extra work and when I saw how much as well as the cost it was a bit much for me. The Berchirly Canvas quickly became an excellent choice for me because it was $80 (right at around what I wanted to spend), it wasn't weather proof however it is a lot more tolerable to weather than leather (especially when leather gets wet). Now another factor for me was size. I needed something that could hold my: 5-7 folders, 2 books, a calculator, agenda, spare supplies, school wallet, and a laptop all at once, and this baby did so phenomenally! Even with all that stuff in at once the bag was still very portable and not too heavy. Now I will caution you on a couple of things: 1) I bought this bag with every intention for it to be something I could replace in a couple of years and not shed a tear. And it most certainly is great for that purpose as well as long term use. 2) If you wear jeans and allow it to rub up against your side for a long period of time, the jean color will rub off onto the bag a little. Not a lot, yet it was enough that I found it easier & smarter just to carry it in hand with one arm (even just ever so slightly so that it didn't touch my side). I especially did this when it was light weight & I would switch arms every now an again; and after doing so the jean color faded away almost entirely. Even with those cautions this is a phenomenal satchel and I would recommend this to anyone looking for a change from the traditional back-pack or anyone looking for a stylish and efficient means to carry their stuff. Thank you for reading and have a blessed day.

Very useful, large enough without being overwheming
I am very pleased with this bag. I ordered the XL size, which is perfect for my 17 inch laptop. I'm a bit of a bag enthusiast, and I can tell this is definitely a higher end bag. I saw some of the reviews were questioning the quality, so I'm thinking some of those people got inferior copies. I bought mine from Kim's Republic, the vendor you buy from matters a lot on Amazon. This is a great bag to hold a laptop, a notebook or folio case, and a few pens and other smaller items. I have managed to store a Springfield Armory XD(m) 3.8 compact in a kydex pocket holster in one of the front pockets, but it was a little tight. I like the look of this bag, it is a classic military look that looks fashionable instead of tactical. I don't generally like it when people are wondering if I am carrying a gun (as bags with MOLLE tend to suggest). I could see someone using this in place of a briefcase in a day to day office environment (big meetings and other more formal events might require something more traditional). The strap is very comfortable. I didn't add a lot of weight, but what weight I did have in it was barely noticeable on my shoulder. The buckles have magnetic holders on them, so you don't actually need to buckle and unbuckle them every time you want to get in a pocket. Overall, I am very pleased that I bought this bag. It is just the right size for me to be useful without being overwhelming. It has a very decent quality to it. I have added pictures of how my XD(m) fits, as well as a 17 inch laptop with a folio and a spiral bound notebook, all three of which fit easily with enough room for more things.

Rugged, Stylish, and Built to Last!
I’ve been using this Berchirly messenger bag for a few months now, and I’m seriously impressed. The canvas is thick and durable, with a rugged vintage look that’s perfect for both casual and semi-professional settings. The leather accents give it a premium feel, and the stitching is solid all around. I use it daily to carry my 15.6" laptop, notebooks, chargers, and a few other essentials. It easily fits everything with room to spare, and the compartments help keep things organized. The shoulder strap is comfortable, even when the bag is loaded up. If you're looking for a practical, good-looking messenger bag that can handle everyday use without falling apart, this is the one. Highly recommend!
