I bought this amplifier for use with headphones on our new 60" Sharp TV, as I often watch late night programs and my hearing is now "less than perfect". I can reduce the TV speaker volume to zero, and use any volume preferred on the headphones, or both can be used at the same time, independently of one another. I have found this amplifier to be perfect for this purpose, with ample volume without distortion, and it has bass and treble controls. It is a very nice, compact unit that is reasonably priced, and connecting it to your TV is an easy project. Connection of the amplifier to the TV is via an inexpensive two conductor cable that is equipped with RCA (male) type connectors from the red & white "audio out" (female) outlets on the TV, to the matching "audio in" outlets on the amplifier. As all headphones are equipped with either a small 3.5 mm or standard size stereo phone jack; you will need a matching (female) stereo phone jack with short connectors, as the Amplifier is equipped with finger pressure release type "wire in" connectors. I ran the three conductor head phone extension cable from the amplifier, that was placed on the TV support cabinet, to the recliner chair that I normally use; under the carpet for a neater installation. In summary; I am delighted with this amplifier powered audio set up! A word of warning however, is that some of the large screen TVs now being sold will not allow an amplifier powered headphone system to be used! None of the presently being sold 60" & larger, LG Insignia, some of the Samsung TVs, and perhaps others, will not allow this type of audio connection! If you are considering the purchase of a new large screen TV, and the use of amplifier powered headphones with it; it would be wise to confirm that the TV you are interested in purchasing; will allow this type installation. Be forewarned that many TV sales personnel are not aware that some of the new large screen TVs will not allow this type installation to be used! Some of the new large screen TVs do have a built in headphone jack; however it is an "either/or" type connection where either the normal TV speakers can be used, or headphones, but not both simultaneously!

Ordered on August 31, 2013 I like the treble and bass controls. The old 2000's boombox in my garage died. The kind that everyone had in their bedrooms. The big side speakers were still good and could be repurposed. This amp drives them no problem. The amp doesn't get hot even in my Florida garage that exceeds 105F ambient temperature during summer. 20 watts per speaker at full blast is still plenty loud for a garage. Didn't want to lug in an expensive home receiver to have it fry in the hot garage, this is absolutely perfect. It's small, doesn't get hot, and drives quality sound. A good little amp. Update: June 23, 2019 6 Years and still working. The potentiometers in the knobs are worn from years of use. There are small dead spaces in the volume adjustment. Pretty sure the amp is dying because the volume is getting lower as time rolls by. My setup: PC 3.5mm to RCA to the amp. Mostly used to listen to youtube videos and music from the garage PC. I have a 3.5mm splitter between the PC and the amp going to a Trond Rx/TX bluetooth module. I highly recommend them. With an RX/TX module I can do 2 things: 1. TX mode: Play audio from my PC to a bluetooth headset. 2. RX mode: play audio from my phone to the amp/speakers. I get the best of both worlds with that setup. No need to go looking for a bluetooth equipped amplifier when you can add an external bluetooth module with a splitter cable easily. The Trond line of RX/TX have excellent sound quality too. Want bluetooth with this amp? Easily done. When this amp eventually dies I'll definitely replace it with the same or more powerful model from Pyle. I've been very impressed with it's thermal performance. In a Florida garage during summer electronics lasting more than 1 summer without overheating is impressive enough. I have used this amp pretty much every single day for 6 years. To me, this amp is a champ.

Pictured: From L to R: mp3 player, included remote, Ipod, USB stick. Shown inserted into unit: 8GB SD, 16GBCruzerFit. All inputs connect and function as expected. Of course, the bluetooth mode, connected wirelessly to an ipod or other music player is the most convenient since you have full control. The SD card and USB play one after another. Not a problem for me since I play music continuously and don't constantly hunt around choosing certain tracks. To play the next song on the SD card or inserted USB you simply press the "NEXT" button on the PCA2 or on the remote. Choosing next scrolls through the SD card and then the USB. The sound is good for mp3s which is what I primarily use it for (set it and forget it). Plenty of power that's for sure. There are 10 volume marks around the knob; I only need a 2 or 3 to play at a nice volume that I can hear fine in several rooms. For soft background then even less than 2 is enough. I have the PCA2 hooked up to 2 well made circa-1980-1990s Bose 4 OHM indoor/outdoor bookshelf speakers. Yeah there's a very slight hum but only if you put your ear right next to a speaker with nothing playing, no matter how high I turned the volume up to test (with unit on pause of course). There's no hum or noise with any of the switching as long as you turn the volume knob all the way down, which I also do when it's time to shut down power, but even if you don't it's slight pop. For comparison, my Lepai LP-2020+ (is a nice unit just no BT, SD or USB) but it made a loud pop whenever I turned the power switch off even with the volume was at zero. Also, this Pyle PCA2 has more than double the amp power. I just wish the darn FM worked more "normally'...The PCA2 does pull in FM stations after they load like a cable TV box, but you can't "tune" into each one to select (this is just an amp with no tuner- only an FM receiver); you have to remember their designated number and select it on the remote. I didn't buy it for the FM function anyway; I wanted a unit that could play USB and bluetooth ... so I took off one star for the less than perfect FM function (but this is the way FM works in units like this- remember this is not a "tuner" just an amplifier, but it has the right functions for today's most popular use which is to listen to your own personal music collection (having the capacity for pulling in your favorite FM station with amps like these is a nice quirk even though to work it is a bit wonky). Overall I would recommend this PCA2 as a good value if you need or want to play continuous music via USB, SD audio files, or seamlessly with a Bluetooth music player. X-tra TIP: To easily get all your mp3s to be the same listening volume I found a free program called mp4gain; maybe it will work for you too.

I read the amazon reviews for the Pyle Home PCA2 amplifier while searching for an amp to use with my new fifty-eight inch HD television. I have good quality Yamaha speakers that I formerly used with my, about to perish, stereo receiver for amplifying and processing the TV's audio in my average sized home living room. I was concerned about the Pyle amp due to reviews that spoke of overheating and premature burn outs of the PCA2. I purchased the amp and received it. I am not an electronic technician or expert, so don't do what I did unless you are sure you know what you are doing and it will be safe. Without plugging The Pyle am in -I removed four screws from the right and left sides (eight total screws), and was able to remove the black cowling. There are air vents on both the left and right sides. On the inside of the cowling there is a black fiber material covering those vents. That fiber might have been meant to prevent dust from getting inside of the unit. I felt that that fiber was not very porous, and quickly became clogged, restricting proper ventilation. I removed that fiber from both the right and left sides - probably voiding the warranty. Included with the amp are four, small, rubber pads/feet with a peel and stick adhesive feature. I put those rubber pads/feet on the left end of the amp, one on each corner. I operate the amp with it standing upright on it's left side. The air vents now allow air to travel underneath the amp, and rise via air convection currents through the amplifier, probably helping to keep it cool. Remember, the Pyle PCA2 is a 'home' amplifier - not an auditorium amplifier. I set and leave the volume setting on the Pyle PCA2 at about sixty-five percent the total possible volume of the amp. I adjust my volume/loudness needed for listen in my living room. I've found that I need to use less than half of the full volume of my TV's audio controls to power the Pyle amp. I can turn-up plenty of volume this way, and never cause the Pyle amp to overheat or burn up due too much wattage being put in from the TV, or too much wattage blasting out of the Pyle amp. I have checked the Pyle amp several times for over heating and the amp has never had any heat above room temperature. It obviously is not heading toward a burn out. Consider this: do not run too much wattage from the TV's audio control into the Pyle amplifier. And don't turn the Pyle volume above about seven and a half or eight, and never to eleven! I also turn off the amplifier and TV when they are not in use. Also remember to occasionally disconnect the amplifier, unplugging it first, and remove the cowling to inspect and clean the internal components of dust and debris that could cause over heating. I feel the PYLE PCA2 is a fine piece of equipment when used in most ordinary comfortable volume, not extreme, home or office purposes. It is not a 'the house is a 'rocking' piece of equipment. It is a good value for the price!

I purchased this unit (PCA2) for my office desk. I wanted an inexpensive, but functional unit. I hadn't looked for such a device before so I didn't really know what I would find. I did look at several units designed for more karaoke functions with dual microphone inputs on the front, so I filtered those out. I just want to say I found it! This unit is the perfect size and has all the features I could want (plus some I was very pleased to discover). Observations: - Size: Perfect for my desk. - Case: Black Metal case, solid. Seems well constructed. It does have some weight to it for the size due to the components required inside. - Sikscreening: Looks good, all words are clear and crisp and straight and aligned where they should be. Both front and rear. - Potentiometers: Feel very smooth and provide a good resistance while turning. There is no discernible audio loss while moving them, no crackling or static. Very pleased here. - Buttons: The buttons do depress with a click and they do bottom out when fully depressed. They don't sink into the unit so there is some backing here which is good. So they feel solid and you get a good click. - Knobs: A little cheaper. The white location marker looks to be painted on a bit hastily. it is not as crisp as the silkscreening on the case. Although nothing wrong with them functionally. - Rubber feet: A good thing for my desk - LCD display: Blue. Neat feature is it provides volume level when using the remote. Shows Aux , Blue for BT. properly switches to the new function as expected. Doesn’t seem overly bright. characters are crisp. - Heat: there is 'some' heat but the top vents seem adequate and it never gets what I would consider 'hot', or excessive. - Dual, or even triple volume controls if connecting a device that has volume controls (Alexa has volume controls) plus the remote's volume control plus the master volume control on the unit. Just make sure all are at a suitable level in such cases. I have to turn down the master volume then adjust as necessary once playing music. Rear connections: - Speaker connections are tension type (and just as described). The actual wire hole is a bit small, but this is a reminder that you do not need heavy gauge wire based on the Ohm rating for this unit. - RCA-R/L: A bit disappointed in the RCA connection. Rather, disappointed more so that there is not a built-in 3.5mm input. But, I will say there is nothing wrong technically with the RCA connections, and they do work as expected to provide stereo (left and right) input. If you really needed to you can get a RCA to Female 3.5mm adapter if your device outputs using this type of connection. Function Testing: - My primary focus: Connecting my Alexa via Bluetooth. Works perfectly! I am grateful for the Bluetooth card in this unit! I also used Alexa's 3.5mm output jack and tested the RCA connection. (I had an RCA cable on one end (to this unit) and the 3.5mm connection on the other end (to my Alexa). This also worked. I am not currently using the RCA as I wanted to simply confirm the RCA ports worked. - I also found that the buttons on the front of the unit worked with Bluetooth. I was able to advance songs using the next button. - With the Bluetooth functionality there are a lot of device connection options for me and this was one of my main requirements. Additional features: - FM: I connected the supplied FM Antenna and switched it to the radio. (The antenna has a plastic end to it which fits over the center 'post' inside what looks like a coaxial connection. ) The buttons on the front of the unit didn't allow much functionality here for using FM other than advancing station presets once I figured that out. However, the remote provided 35 channel memory (I ran the scan a few times and it ended up only finding 25 the first time through, and on subsequent scans after I adjusted the antenna, found 35 channels!! Don't know what the limit is, and does not seem to be listed anywhere? While there is no specific button labeled to start the scan for the memory, I found it by accident. I used the [Play/Pause] button. There is station seek up/down, and a number pad for direct frequency tuning. I was pleased to discover these functions from this priced unit. I would almost say 'additional' functions since I didn't see anything in the description about this, or I just missed it? And, nothing in the manual about it either. - I presume these same buttons on the remote and on the unit control the SD card and USB similarly. - Remote: As mentioned, the remote provided additional FM functionality. It also provides volume up/down which shows the volume level from 0 to 32 on the LED display. This works independent of the master volume knob on the front. (Does not turn the knob when using remote). - Oddly, you can power the unit off with the remote while the toggle switch on the unit is still in the On position. Just have to flip it to off and back on, or use the remote again. - Remote is a bit less expensive, but given the price point of this unit I'd rather not pay more for a better remote. Functions on this remote work fine. I believe the receiving 'eye' is next to the LCD and since the remote is Infrared, you must point directly at the unit. No issues there for me, just observational. - You can change the mode with the remote, as expected. - Equalizer: Normal, Rock, Jazz, Classical, Pop and Cut (Cut could be country?). Only controllable through the remote. - I also wanted to try and understand what other reviewers noted about hearing a buzz or the '60hz' noise... I tested this by connecting to bluetooth with nothing playing. I turned the master volume knob all the way up, and used the remote to turn it to 32. There was nothing. I plugged in my Alex using the RCA cable described above and performed the same test. Still nothing. To be honest, that sort of noise usually comes from a faulty cabled connection. I typically hear something like that when using a headphone jack that isn't properly connected, or my thumb touches the headphone jack while the other end is plugged in.... but did not get any unwanted/unexpected noise from this unit using RCA or Bluetooth. Perhaps this issue was corrected with this model versus a previous model? Options not tested: - SD Card and USB. Honestly, I don't have any music anymore stored on data drives. So I likely won't be using these functions, but I'll definitely give a nod for the availability. (I'll give the benefit of the doubt and presume these both function perfectly and the remote provides forward/back, pause, play features here!) (Side note: the USB port does provide power. So a potential charging port? Not sure the exact output volts/amps, but it did charge my phone-although very slowly.) Bottom Line: 5 stars - I am seriously considering purchasing additional units. Another for my garage would be great. I am extremely pleased however with the features of this 2 speaker unit. The sound is great for my needs and with the unit's size and the 2 desktop speakers it fits my space. I am not a hi-fidelity junky but what I hear out of this unit sounds great to me. I've cranked it as loud as I am comfortable with for my speakers and was not disappointed. I could also connect my phone (via BT) if I have anything not available through Alexa. I still have the RCA connection available for any other devices I want to connect via wire. Overall, I give this a solid 5 stars. I cannot find anything that is sub-par to what I purchased, and only found good surprises on functionality once I began playing with this solid unit. ++Update: The picture at the top of the listing is correct for the unit I have. The lower pictures which show a red, bright LED indicating Power, as well as the description which calls this LED out as one of the features is not present on my unit (thankfully that massive, bright 10mm RED LED is not part of my device as I would have covered it with tape! ) .. It appears the seller updated the case and removed that LED on this unit and added 4 additional buttons but did not correct the lower description and some of the additional pictures. Or, they just mixed two of their units into one listing? - Also, I recommend to the seller to include a better manual, as well as call out some of the additional features available to this unit that are not mentioned anywhere!

I bought this with high hopes, as it was a Pyle product and I've heard good things about them. It started off with the provided remote, which was entirely different than the one pictured. The one i recieved was one of those crappy chinese remotes with the buttons that look all too much like bubble wrap. When I got everything set up, I tried to adjust the volume with the remote and while it would change the value on the LED display, it would not change the actual volume. I had originally bought a MOUKEY amp at half the price (the price has sadly raised since then), and even that came with a remote that actually changed the volume. It gets better, though. Fast forward about a few weeks of usage when I realized that the speakers would start to peak whenever there is too much bass. This thing peaks ALL. THE. TIME. Also, I have had my speakers for years and they work perfectly fine. So unless you like the buzz of cheap electronics every time the THX intro plays, save your money or just go with a different brand at the same price. Plus, it doesn't even have a headphone jack! When I saw the "passed quality control" sticker on the back of it, I just laughed. Never buying a new Pyle product again. Almost forgot to mention, when using Bluetooth it peaks even more because the sound is very low, forcing you to raise the volume. TL;DR - Remote changes volume on display but doesn't change actual volume, speakers buzz whenever overloaded with bass (it doesn't take much to overload it), bluetooth is noticeably quieter than aux. Save your money.

I needed great sound on our closed in back porch. Space in a major issue. I needed something small, convenient and not a boom box. This system is outstanding for the size and price. I built a 7" × 7" shelf to hold this unit on the wall. I have 2 bookshelf speakers hidden under 2 end tables. Non stop quality sound with a 32 GB SD card with all my favorite mixes. A USB flash drive has all my holiday music installed. An aux input if I wanted to add a CD or Tape Deck through the RCA Jack's. Bluetooth capability if I want to stream from my smartphone. Then a top notch radio which pulls in weak stations also. You have separate volume, bass & treble controls plus a remote to control everything; For less than 40 bucks! I thought they misspriced this little dynamo! My friends can't believe it either. Get yourself a good pair of bookshelf speakers, buy this amp and you'll have all your music and programs you'll ever need in less space than a shoe box!

after reading the other reviews on here, I knew this wouldn't be a five star product. It was built down to a price, and it shows in the final product. When my unit arrived there was a distinct rattling sound of a loose screw inside the unit. after disassembling the unit, I found that it was missing one of only two bolts which hold the transformer to the chassis. It seems it must have been over-torqued at the factory which stripped out the threading in the chassis. It would have worked without fixing it, at least for the time until the loose screw shorted something out and blew up the internal fuse, or worse; I feel better having taken this apart and replaced the bolt. This is a failure that really shouldn't happen but we're talking about a Chinese product made with almost zero quality control or warranty. Apart from that issue however, this thing actually sounds /Really/ good! The unit is bit larger than I would have imagined, and a whole lot heavier than I thought it would be. That's a good thing. There is an adequate amount of bass/treble control and all the rheostats move slowly without static. They feel like high quality components. The Power LED is red, which earns bonus points from me for not being that horrible shade of overly bright "Black-Friday Blue" which is common with cheap electronics. Still, I put a piece of electrical tape over it with a very tiny pinhole. I'm still glad it has a power LED, but a dimmer one is always best. The PCB looks very easy to service if something goes wrong, and based on other reviews I wouldn't count on manufacturer warranties being very helpful. bottom line: If you're techy and don't mind getting your hands dirty, this might be a great amp for computer speakers or something simple. If you can afford something better or want the peace of mind that comes with a quality product with a warranty, look elsewhere. Overall, I'm happy with the performance of this product.

Found a pair of Sony speakers in my basement and didn’t want to throw them out. Bought this receiver, hooked it up to the speakers and I now have a system that I can put it in my garage or workout room. I love how I can stream music from my phone to the receiver via BT. Alternatively, you can put your entire music library on a thumb drive and hook it up to the receiver and play your music from there. All in all, this is a good receiver. I don’t play my music loud, so I don’t notice any sound distortion. I just hope it will last😊

La verdad me sorprendió la calidad de sonido de este amplificador lo conecte a 2 bocinas de mi antiguo minicomponente y encanto total, tanto el bluetooth, el auxiliar (aquí conecte una pantalla) memoria usb, memoria sd y radio todo funcionando excelente, lo que también me sorprendió y que en la información del producto no lo dice es que incluye un control remoto por lo que esto facilita su manejo, apenas hoy lo recibí y ya estoy encantado, pero, creo que aun me faltan cosas por descubrir, pero sin duda por su calidad de sonido y su bajo precio lo recomiendo ampliamente.

This device its worth every dime spent on it, the sound is clean, it delivers a bass so deep that I had my neighbours coming home home to ask me to please low the volume because the vibration is too strong! I have it connected to another oldie Technics radio amplifier so I can profit the bluetooth capabilities on this one with the output power of the other one and the results are amazing! there is no annoying humming that bothers on the background of the playing music, so if you want something small to play music in your home parties this is the guy for the job.

Precio y calidad muy buena. Lo uso para 2 bocinitas y suena súper bien. Trae control remoto, y en mi caso siempre que lo prendo entra en el modo que lo dejé, y mi celular se conecta de inmediato. Muy de vez en cuando tengo que apagar y prender el switch, y me ha pasado cuando se me va la luz, que al volverlo a prender se pone en el volumen máximo. Pero de ahí en fuera todo muy bien, lo recomiendo.
