BIC seriously makes some fantastic products! This speaker is well built and can be used for your Center Channel, as well as your L/R Front speakers! The Formula Line from BIC America is basically the Acoustech series without the Piano Gloss finish. Its has the exact same drivers and horn tweeter. It is also in the same size sealed enclosure. It's basically a slightly less attractive Bic Acoustech Pl-26 Center Speaker . This speaker still looks great, just not quite as nice as the PL 26. These speakers are very punchy and tight in the mid bass region, which is very important for those of us with a 5.1 setup with a LFE sub and an AVR with a crossover. I would say what impresses me the most with this speaker is the clarity of the dialog while watching a TV show or a Movie. The Horn Tweeter is drives the dialog and highs to your ears. The great thing about the horn in this speaker is the fact that it isn't overly bright or forward like some horns are. I would also like to point out that you can hang this speaker both Vertical and Horizontal. The wall mounts on the back can be switched and for easy mounting either way. Its a pretty awesome design! Overall, I am extremely impressed with this speaker. The overall balance of this speaker is quite impressive for a horn tweeter. It truly shines while playing an action sequence in a movie! The clarity and punch this speaker provides is very impressive for its price range! BIC continues to impress with there products, both in value and sound!

Incredible value for a well made, sturdy, hefty n' great sounding Left-Right-Center speaker (Like ALL speakers, give it 1-2 weeks break in/softening up period before a defining final judgement)... -I use the FH-6 as a center channel, sure, if ya tend to be brand loyal, youll pay twice the price for a similar Klipsch product, who manufactures wonderful products too. But B.I.C America/Acoustech 'jus flat gets the job done & doesnt charge an arm n' a leg for doing so! They merge wonderfully with my hodge-podge'd, miss-matched, totally patchwerk'd "Frankestein'd" home audio set up....;) For What Its Worth as to the overall system, one Im sure no-one should really care about? Im certainly not an "audio-snob" in any sense of the word, but the wife tends to poke fun @ my "Speaker-Fetish"...-Which I DO get...HA!...Nice thing about that 'fetish' being Ive been able to share & freely give away @ no cost my surplus(sssss) over the years to many a friend & fellow humanoid(s).... -Currently using the BIC-A FH6 as a center (Two 6-1/2 inch Mid/Bass drivers, 1" horn tweeter) -Two Polk Audio S60 Towers as mains-(Three 6.25" mid/Bass drivers & 1" soft dome Terylene tweeter per cab) -Two Polk Audio S35's (6 three inch diameter mid drivers, one 1" dome tweet per cab) as front height/Atmos channels... -Rear surround duties done by Fluance's excellent 'Reference series XL8BP' Bi-polar speakers (Two 5.25 mid woofers & two 1" dome tweeters per cab) -Subwoofer (Received today) being a powered/rated 500W 'Acoustic Audio PSW500' 12' inch woofer. Front firing. Which for me is 'jus fine when using the FH6 as a center, as clarity of voicing & film dialogue is what the center should do best, with your mains & sub(s) complimenting n' providing the lower end frequency bandwidths.... -Another 'Hidden' aspect the FH6 presents, one a few people n' buyers may be interested approaching in regards to overall sound dispersion, or 'Lensing' characteristics of the horn tweeter & its wave-guide enclosure. As the horn enclosure itself being: 4 x 3 inches in dimension. I'd found, either through another review here on Amazon IIRC? (Thank you Sir if so, Im yer Parrot-!SQUAWK! ;) Or on a forum, or poss YT vid review? -Caveat being: Unless worried about warranty issues of course. Being that if using the FH6 as a center channel (Or even as mains per left/right channels) Grab yo'self a common philips head screwdriver n' unscrew the horn wave-guide/tweeter itself from the cabinet (Its all one self-contained unit, just be easy on 'er & its wired connections when doing so, theres enough additional wiring present to compensate) & 'flip' or turn around the entire wave-guide itself 180 degrees as it DOES have an overall differing effect as to how the higher freq's are dispersed & broadcast within your listening room. As the horn wave-guide doesnt have duplicate, or equal dimensions on all its sides, being 4 x 3 inches. Even if 'Flipped' the original mounting/screw holes in the cabinet & tweeter wave-guide itself still all match up & fasten back in just like within its original configuration. So no Worries there!...;) ~Four thumbs up^ on this product as Hunter Stockton Thompson might say...;)

mine came very fast i was suprized.but all my ordersith amazon have been quick.these speakers dont look like much with the screens on but look fairly good with them off.the built in wall mounts are nice.while im not using the mounts its nice to have them just in case.they are being used in my bed room and are replacing a older pair of pioneer 3 way speakers with 8 inch main driver.the bics dont have as much bass as the pioneers but are tighter and cleaner.the vocals are cleaner and the high tones are good.my receiver has 110 x 6 and these work well for mains ive cranked them and they didnt loose sound quality .im sure after a month of use they will sound even better.some reviews here make them sound like the best deal on the market and sound as good as really high end eqt.well for the money 112.97 each shipped im happy and they do sound better than a lot of spekars in thier price range to double thier price range.but dont expect them to work miricles .they are good and a true all channel speaker .I may indeed as money allows replace the other 4 speakers in my bedroom system with them .they are a good performing low priced speaker .well made also.they dont offeer the soundstage of the polks or clarity for video or music in my opnion but are a lot smaller than the polk monitor 50 or 60 and wall mountable the polk monitor 40 isnt in the same class as the bic for rock music but the polk is cleaner .i rarely buy a/v eqt with out hearing it but i needed a sub awhile back for my bed room and ordered a bic sub and was very very happy with it it blew my sony away it replaced.ive got a oknyo system in the living room i plan on updating because i dont like the little speakers for mains probally add a set of jbl for mains but ill see if i can find someplace i can hear a set of bic floor speakers first .not because i think they will sound better but from a budget point the bics do offer a lot for the money.if you got thye money to buy better aand appreate good quality speakers spend it .but if your chedder is limited then these offer a lot of quality for the money.ive got a set of older bose 301 in a guest room and the bicks are better flat out .the bics need a sub but as far as im concerned most but the finest tower speakers need a sub .ive just never had the money for really good towers .for a small to med room unless you are very critical about music quality these bics will be fine .yea there are speeakers that are a lot better no dount but you pay several times what these cost to get it.215.oo for a pair of bics or 1000.00 for a pair of better speakers you decide cause thats what it comes down to. UPDATE ive had these for awhile now still very happy they did indeed sound better with timeim very happy with them and and buying more bic products.for low priced speakers these are a great deal.I just added yet another one of these for a center channel ive also got a bic sub and a dv5 for center back surround.over time ill add 2 more bics for my rear side surrounds for my 6.1 system.for the $ im very happy with bic.they sound good are well made and fairly priced for what you get if not plain out underpriced.

I have this hooked up to a $129 Yamaha V-365 (newer model is the 367). 100 Watts per channel. I am using this speaker as a center channel for movies, not music. I always thought of BIC as a cheap off brand but that was my uneducated opinion. After seeing how lovely the speaker was in the picture, the size of the woofers, the horn tweeter, and reading AN AWFUL LOT about BIC in forums I decided to try this speaker at the mere price of $111. Right after I bought this I noticed the BIC flagship PL-26, and PL-28 center. I wish I would have noticed them before I bought this as the PL-26 is not very much $ more. The FH6 dialogue is crystal clear, loud, clean, and I have to say clear again. I cannot believe how clear it is. The dynamic range is impressive. I've turned the volume up quite loud and the sound of the dialogue left me with a silly grin on my face. I do not think the tweeter is overly bright as some say with Klipsch. I do not have to turn the volume up very loud to hear dialogue, but this speaker sounds amazing at high volumes. The bass seems to be lacking (not bad at all though) for the size of the drivers. I have not done any tuning on my receiver though so this may be on my side. I've had a few center channels to compare this to: * Polk CS-1 - To me, the BIC is much is much clearer, cleaner, and crisp when it comes to dialogue. The Polk definitely has more bass than the BIC. The Polk is fully broken in which may be the reason it produces more bass. Plus I had the receiver tuned in. * Martin Logan Encore TF - The ML used to be my favorite. I'm slowly coming around to the BIC. The BIC produces an awful lot more bass than the ML, and the BIC's highs and dialogue started sounding more realistic and cleaner after a couple weeks. I switched back and forth between the ML and the BIC repeatedly for the past couple weeks, many times in one day playing the same movies to compare the dialogue. Week 1 was all Martin Logan. Week 2 and beyond was surprisingly all about the BIC. The Martin Logan is sitting on the sidelines now. It's a great speaker though. * Yamaha HTIB - No comparison at all. The BIC wins, period. * Klipsch Synergy C1 - Again, no comparison for me. The BIC wins hands down in all categories * BIC PL-28 Center - This FH6 speaker sounds so good I bought BIC's shiny black piano finish flagship center. I was not home when UPS came today so unfortunately I have to will call tomorrow. I'm curious to see if the horn tweeter on each sounds the same in the PL-28 as it does in the FH6. I will update once I break in the PL-28. Overall I'm impressed with BIC. I can't believe the value for what you get. I agree with others that this may be the best center I've heard for less than $500 (again, waiting to audition the PL-28 that cost a mere $177). Give it a week or more to break in before you judge it. I was actually somewhat disappointed at first but it impressed in time. Of course, from everything I've read you should buy the BIC PL-26 or PL-28 instead of this one. I'll confirm though... The PL's have more sensitivity and can be driven with less watts to louder clearer levels. A PL and 75 watt/channel receiver is supposed to be a potent combination (so i've heard). I have an Onkyo TX-NR1007 135 watt/channel THX Ultra certified receiver sitting in the box now waiting for the theater to be completed. I'm sure this speaker will sound amazing hooked up to that. Optimus Primes voice in Transformers is unbelievably powerful and clear with the BIC FH6. If you get this speaker, watch Transformers for the dialogue. I'm tempted to buy Klipsch RC-62 to see if there is any comparison. People seem to say a lot of good things about BIC. I would like to review and give an opinion that is not biased. No offense but sometimes I think people just want to mentally think there speaker is better than everything else for their own personal justification. I'm honest and would like to give an honest review. Closing statement - After a week of break in, there is no way you will be disappointed by the BIC as a center. 2/17/11 Edit: I just picked up my BIC PL-28 Center from UPS will call. All I can say is wow. I paused a TV show, unplugged the FH6-LCR and plugged in the PL-28. The receiver was at the same volume. Unpaused the show. The PL-28 was easily 50% louder at the same receiver volume. This is a very efficient speaker. The PL-28 seems to spread the sound out more. Otherwise, the dialogue sounds very similar between the PL-28 and the FH6. The PL-28 is near twice as big as the FH6 but the horn tweeters look identical in the two speakers. I really think they are the same. I can't wait till the PL-28 is broken in. I would be hard pressed to buy the FH6 again when the PL-26 is very close in price from some online retailers. I haven't heard the PL-26 in action yet. 6/17/15 Edit: I noticed something really strange about the FH6 the other day; it produces heavier bass and has better extension than the flagship PL-28 which I also own. The FH6 has rubber surrounds. I read a review that said the PL-28 has paper surrounds. I felt them and I don't know what they're made out of but its not rubber. Although the PL-28 is noticeably louder with the same amount of watts being pushed to it, it doesn't sound considerably better than the FH6 (it does sound a bit more tuned). The FH6 is a true steal. It's just not as pretty as the PL-28 if you're into that sort of thing. I've used countless speakers by many brands over the years, including speakers that cost well over $1k each. Although these speakers are not on par with $1k speakers by no means, I believe they are by far the best deal I've seen. In my opinion, they blow away low end Polk's, low end Klipsch Synergy and Quintet and anything remotely close to their price range (unless you buy something at an insane sale price). If I was building a budget system today, I'd by 5 of these and a decent subwoofer (HSU) to handle everything below 80hz. If you have the capability and know-how to tune your receiver or preamp, these speakers can be elevated to a level 3 times their price. I think one review mentioned that you shouldn't have to tune speakers, and that is true but, if you do, these sound just like speakers in a much higher price bracket.

Ordered this because I wanted a center channel to be able to stand out on its own and still sound good, and this speaker does this with aplomb. Some have said that horn tweeters are overly bright, but that is not my experience as they are clear, accurate, and bright but in a nice way and not shrill. I have a bit more than 30 hours on it and already have noticed that the speakers have loosened and mellowed nicely and there may be more to go, but they didn't sound bad out of the box. With 6 1/2" woofers this now matches the two 6 1/2" woofers and mid-woofers in my towers and the 6 1/2" woofers in the BIC DV62si surrounds and they all work very well together to bring a presence and projection that transcends their location. My sub-woofer is nothing special as it is an 8" Onkyo that came with the HTIB that I started out with, but there's plenty of bass to go around, even from the dual center woofers. What sets this center channel apart is the horn tweeter and overall sensitivity of the speaker so that I can now hear those soft spoken passages that in the past were muffled by all of the sounds coming from the other channels, and that counts for a lot in a movie where they seem to want to present overkill through every channel as a "wow factor", but in the meantime I'd be missing some critical dialogue -- that's a thing of the past now. Love their accuracy and that it can be clearly heard above all else. I will say that the cabinetry is nothing special and that may be where they saved a bit. It isn't horrible, but spartan might be a good term. If I am not standing up looking at it all I really see from straight on is the grill. Though the grill is generic looking it is OK, and I normally leave the grills on my speakers, but with the grill off this has a rather aggressive looking appearance with that big horn in the middle. BIC makes the PL-26 which is virtually identical to this one but costs more and has a fancy lacquered cabinet if looks are important. With the grill on this speaker it is so generic looking that nobody would expect the kind of sound that comes out of it until they hear it. Properly adjusted this makes a great sounding center channel that not only can easily be heard above all of the special effect stuff that movies are made of today, but can join in as well and still allow soft dialogue to come through loud and clear. Forgot to mention that it is also great with music, jazz, classical, and rock. Very satisfied and would recommend this to anyone looking for a great sounding center speaker that can clearly reproduce those soft passages to audible levels. Where else can you get a speaker this good for so little?

Just installed 2 Yamaha in-wall 960 speakers and realized that my outdated Infinity center channel was no longer a good match. The Yamahas have dual 6.5s so I needed to step up from the 4-inch drivers on the Infinity and started searching. I found that most LCRs in the sub-$300 range had anything from 3.5-inch to 5.25-inch woofers; I had recently added a BIC sub to my system so I checked their website and saw the FH6 that sports dual 6.5s as well as the horn tweeter, which would be a nice match with my Yammys. Unfortunately, I didn't want to spend the $329 price tag so I checked Amazon and found a listing for $107. Are you kidding me?!? Took me all of 2 seconds to order one. If you are looking for some sleek, updated look and an elaborate company logo, do not purchase this speaker. BUT if you are wanting to get a huge bang for your buck with a powerful center channel, I don't think you can do any better than the FH6. It can handle a range down to 40Hz (most other centers I saw were in the 50-65 range), sports 175 watts, and the performance of the horn tweeter vs. the dome is evident on the dialogue signals of 5.1 dvds. It's not a bass reflex design but rather a suspension (meaning there are no ports on the enclosure) so that gives you nice flexibility when positioning the speaker - you can hang it if you want and not worry about compromising any rear ports. Just to break this speaker in, I set my receiver to all-channel stereo and let me tell you, this speaker is very capable of serving as a left or right channel as well. Played some live Allman Brothers and some live Dave Matthews and it produced a nice crisp, warm stage which I'm sure will only get better as they loosen up; the highs are clean but not overly bright, and the woofers play low enough bass frequencies to blend in very nicely with the sub without having to set the crossover too high. The FH6 is virtually the same speaker as BIC's top-of-the-line Acoustec Series minus the lacquer finish. Great buy, whether you get one for a center or three for a matched front line on your home theater. BIC doesn't advertise or have a catchy slogan, but they do build very solid and powerful speakers that will not break your wallet...

BIC America makes many high quality speakers for affordable prices, but this could be the best value of the bunch. While not a part of the slightly higher end Acoustech series (for example this slightly larger BIC Acoustech PL-28 Center Speaker - Black ), this speaker shares many of the components you'll see there (more than other BIC America speakers). These welcome upgrades include a horn loaded tweeter similar to what one finds on Klipsch speakers (supposedly BIC was forced to forgo their orange drivers in favor of the new platinum ones on Acoustech speakers as they looked too much like Klipsch's reference series), attractive cabinets, broad range (40Hz-23kHz), and high levels of sensitivity (95dB). One bonus this speaker adds over the similar Acoustechs is the ability to mount the speaker vertically on a wall (thus allowing it to operate more easily as a left or right speaker). The included wall mounts work very well, which they need to, as this is a hefty speaker (16lbs). Look around for a similarly priced speaker that offers most of these features, and you'll start running out of luck. Try finding them all, and you'll either be looking at a 2nd hand Klipsch (if you're lucky) or this one. Others may seem similar, but lack the sensitivity (require more wattage for a given level of sound) or the range (you won't need to rely as much on a sub as with other speakers). Pair three of these (left, center, and right--what the LCR stands for in the name) with BIC America F12 12-Inch 450-Watt Front Firing Powered Subwoofer and some nice surrounds (BIC offers nice Acoustech PL-66 surrounds) or these sweet Klipsch S-3 Synergy Surround Speaker (Pair, Black) (my setup), and you're good to go!

I purchased one of these speakers as a new center speaker (to replace a much more expensive Paradigm 350LCR) since the center channel seemed too laid back and dialogue was hard to hear. The problem was solved quite neatly by the BIC. Its clarity (due to the horn loaded tweeter/mid-range) made a remarkable difference that the Paradigm simply could not match with its dome tweeter. The price is remarkably low, although it seems to have gone up a bit. My standards are fairly high (Oppo Blu-Ray player, Integra pre-amp, Denon amp, etc.) yet this inexpensive speaker made a world of difference in home theater use. I am beginning to wonder if I might replace my other 6 Paradigms with BIC speakers, but I am going to have to ponder that a bit. Although the BIC is designed to be mounted horizontally I use it, as with my other speakers, in a vertical position, since I believe that enhances their imaging. It seems counter intuitive that a far less expensive speaker could sound better than the Paradigm, but there it is. If I was redoing my system from the ground up I would use this BIC for my center and 3 pairs of BIC's bookshelf speakers (DV-62si) for the other channels plus my current subwoofer. Not only would that be really cheap (the PAIRS of DV-62si's cost a bit over $100 bucks) but it might actually sound better than what I use now. There is an old saw in Hi-Fi that you should spend about half of your budget on speakers (in a home theater perhaps a third) since the speakers are where the sound comes out. BIC speakers blow that idea out of the water. You can pay a whole lot more for a whole lot less, but why?

I had a different intention for these speakers. I was looking for a dual driver sealed speaker for my home dj booth. I’m running them through a dsp crossover to the eliminate the low frequency’s and focus on mids. I have to say that after getting them dialed in to my application that they do exactly what I wanted them to do. Extremely punchy with the mids. My ears will tap out before these speakers will. I do have a 1000 watt crown amp and I would suggest a decent power supply for these speakers since they are sealed to really wake them up. I would recommend them and will probably get another set in the future for a surround setup

Great sound for price

Beautiful listening speakers, I recommend for center channel, however, you can have 5.1 system with it as well. When I was looking for speakers for my home theater, I did a lot of research and for the price range, this fit the bill. These are US brand though, and unfortunately when i wanted it, it was out of stock on amazon dot ca, so I bought it from dot com. Shipping was quick. I bought 3 of the BIC FH6, to use for front, left and right in my 5.1 home theater. What I really liked about it was its clarity. These are superbly crisp and clear sounding speakers, making it perfect for center speaker. Its sound sharpness and brightness was not for my ears for using them for L/R, probably because of their horn tweeters. The music/background sound in movies sounded too shrill, hence I replaced them with KEF Q100, which are dome tweeter. I am extremely happy with this combination now, a perfect combo for my ears (and my family feels the same way). I highly recommend this speaker for -its price, -incredible clear sound -hanging positions - I was in the market looking for speakers I can hang behind an acoustic screen and there are not many selections in this price range and quality. You can lay it horizontal or vertical. You can hang them on your walls, again vertical or horizontal.
