great sound at a small price
Good small speakers for my 20$ marketplace 80's turntable. They are very loud for their size.

Surprising Output for Price
You're looking at a pair of $16 speakers for a reason, right? Maybe you have a small room. Maybe you have a smaller budget. Maybe you want to try something out before committing to a larger investment. Maybe this is a component that complements you current audio setup. In any case, you're reading the reviews because you have one question in your head: Can a pair of $16 speakers possibly be any good? The answer is yes. These little speakers perform remarkably well for the price. And in some cases, you may even be able to remove the caveat "for the price." I bought these to upgrade my home office. Listening to music through my Amazon Basics computer speakers just wasn't the experience I wanted. But for the smallish room (maybe 12' by 12'), I also didn't need something that was going to blow me out the window. I already have two turntable setups, and I didn't want to invest in a third system. The price tag, as well as the quick shipping, sealed the deal for me. I have them connected to a Pioneer receiver I had lying around after an upgrade a few years ago. I added a (very old) center speaker, mostly because why not? Honestly, these 3" speakers do most of the lifting. I was surprised by how loud they can be. And while you certainly wouldn't expect a lot of bass with these, they still hold their own. I listen to a lot of fuzzy, low-end riffs, and these speakers performed much better than my computer speakers. I like that I can still keep these even if I upgrade my system. They're small an inexpensive enough to move to a garage or other exposed space. If you're like me, you have a box of old AV stuff somewhere (noteworthy - these don't come with speaker wire) - you can toss these speakers in and use them in your front yard for Halloween or give them to your niece when she goes off to college. The cost, size, and versatility mean you're not overcommitting yourself. I'm in that narrow space where I'm not an audiophile, but I'm still picky about audio quality. These get the job done for me.

Solid for a low-rent atmos approximation
The bad: they're a bit hard to drive, I have them sourced from pre-amp out from a Marantz slim receiver (the output voltage is a bit low in these, maybe 2 volts) into an Aiyima A07 Max class d amp with the supplied 36v 6a power supply, which powers the Pyles. It's basically a pieced-together quadraphonic system, and I have the Pyles in the room's corner facing upward. (The Marantz doesn't run four channels very well.) That said, even with the low input voltage into the Aiyima, it should still be pushing 50ish+ watts. Their lack of low end makes the sweet spot of their response right in the range of the human voice, which definitely helps me hear dialog in movies. It's an affordable trick that makes the sound more atmospheric, and the speakers' small size makes them unobtrusive. For this specific use case, I like them. I wish they were a bit more efficient, but I imagine a more powerful surround receiver could get more out of them than a class d amp. Or . . . my setup with a preamp out that's more like 4 or 5 volts would probably solve the issue with driving them. These things are not standardized as much as you might think.

SEAL! More bass than was expected
These speakers are odd to say the least. Out of the box they looked fine, sound was as expected from a 3 inch speaker. BUT after I turned them up a bit I'll start to hear a small chuffing sound coming from the back. These speakers are supposedly sealed tight but after a closer inspection the solder joints of the speaker terminals on the back were not sealed with a gasket but rather just plastic on plastic sealed. Took the speaker out of the speaker housing and dripped hot glue down over the terminals to seal them. The spring loaded clip on the back also leaks air so I ended up just removing that entirely and hot glueing it in as it wasnt needed for my purposes anyway. On one of the two speakers the dust cap was partially removed and was rattling when playing but I put some super glue around it and it sealed up. Now to the sound quality after sealing it up correctly - Sounds pretty good all things considered. They can get surprisingly loud with no distortion and have great imaging across the board. If tuned right they can push a small and I mean SMALL amount of low-end. They will throw a little more low-end then you'd expect from a sealed 3 inch but again don't expect immersive bass. I don't know if i'd suggest these for audiophiles but then again I think if you pair them with something more bass heavy that these will help bring more clarity out. I have these paired with the Micca RB42'S and I hate to admit it but combined they sound really good, especially on a desk. Still gave these 5 stars just because they are cheaper but with a little glue and time they sound pretty good for (what I paid at the time) $16.

Great Little Speakers
These are nice little speakers. I have them hooked as the Center and Rear channels on my Denon AVR-E200 165w x channel 5.1 Surround system (each pack of these has two speakers). They provide excellent sound and are great for watching 5.1 movies. They do not provide much bass, but I have some larger speakers for my Front Left and Right that provides the bass. These are really high quality and well made. They are like one piece of plastic (thick high quality) with a nice metal cover. They are small and sit nicely by the TV stand (so small you do not even notice it) and have the nice push in clips that are easy to use (strip the tip of the speaker wire and split it for the Black and Red). --These do not come with speaker wire, which is normal for most speakers, you can buy a large roll of it for near nothing, so remember that when you order these, and buy accordingly if you do not have any spare speaker wire). In the end these are nice speakers that provide excellent clear sound with great support for the surround and center speakers of my setup. Highly recommend!!

Nothing Special, Nothing Terrible
I bought these initially to use with a t-amp for my own little smart phone music center on my nightstand. They are so lacking in the bass that they proved unsatisfactory for even background music. However, they do produce nice crisp mids and highs. They do shine as speakers for my old CRT television. The internal speakers are so rattly at this point that it is extremely annoying to listen to them. These fit neatly on top of the television unit, and work well to provide nice sound WITH THE SUBWOOFER turned on. I do not believe that these babies go all the way down to 90HZ as the manufactuer states....sorry. The best sound was achieved when I adjusted my sub's crossover to the highest possible frequency. Overall, I can recommend these if you pair them with a reasonable subwoofer...in that case, they score a solid 4 stars. If you plan on using them solo, look elsewhere (in this case, they score 2 stars at best...hence my 3 star rating). There are plenty of reasonably priced small speakers that actually produce a bass line.

Small with a lot of power. I love these speakers. I would definitely buy them again.

A Waste of Sticky Feet
Like many others purchasing these speakers, I was hoping to upgrade the sound quality of built-in speakers on a flat screen TV. Initial impressions were generally positive, the speakers arrived quickly and securely packaged. Overall fit and finish was not too shabby. The heft and feel contributed to the good vibe. I would not be embarrassed to have them in the living room. Unfortunately, things went downhill quickly from here. I put some little sticky feet (not included) on the speakers to keep them from bouncing around and hooked them up. Powering them with the Lepai LP-A68 Digital 2 x 15W Amplifier with Remote/USB/MP3/SD/FM , I was unable to drive them to adequate listening levels. By comparison, the Lepai amp easily pushes my Micca MB42X Bookshelf Speakers (Black) , leading me to the conclusion that the Pyle cubes are not terribly efficient. The sound quality was not all that spectacular either - though marginally better than the built-in speakers. Curious as to how they would perform using more capable amplification, I lashed them to my Yamaha RX-V475 (80W per channel) receiver and tuned to my favorite classic rock station. I immediately noticed they weren't as loud as the Miccas (which I had just disconnected) at the same volume setting. I increased the volume in small steps to reach a moderate listening level. The bass output, as others have noted, exceeded expectations for such a small speaker. The treble, however, was harsh and tinny. Further evaluation (at least in stereo) was unceremoniously cut short by the abrupt failure of the left channel speaker. Post-mortem examination (with my Fluke multi-meter) revealed that the three inch driver's voice coil windings had opened (melted), resulting in loss of cone excursion (silence). I estimate the Yamaha was hitting them with about 10 watts of power at the time of failure - well within their advertised 100W power handling capabilities. This disappointing failure did create an opportunity to (unfairly) evaluate the surviving speaker side-by-side against the MB42X. Trust me, the Pyles don't even come close to the efficiency and silky response of the Micca. The harsh and hissing treble characteristics became unbearable to me within just a few more minutes of listening. The very best part of my experience with the Pyle PCB3BK speakers came in pulling the wires and hooking up something decent. At this point, I'm not sure pursuing a warranty claim is even remotely worthwhile. My advice: Skip this disappointing offering, save your pennies, and buy yourself some real speakers.

Amazing small powerfull speakers when used the right way.For indepth review of them keep reading.
If your looking for a full comprehensive review for theses speakers.I'm talking about a review where i have fully tested theses with the proper equipment and with different sources properly keep reading and you will find a very fair and comprehensive review of theses small but powerfull speakers.I could have reviewed theses like many people very quickly as soon as i got them but i wanted to wait after like a month of proper testing in different ways.First of all i bought theses speakers not because its really the speakers i wanted in the first place. But for some people theses could be the speakers right for you.I wanted a certain speaker brand to acompany a receiver i was getting a deal on.But turns out the speakers i wanted werent available when i bought the receiver so i needed at least one set of cheap price bookshelf speakers to test out the new receiver until my choice speakers became available.Plus i figured it wouldnt be waisted cause i could always use theses small speakers either as atmos speakers or surround speakers down the line cause from the reviews they seemed decent enough for that.First thing to say when i got the pile speakers and i did the unboxing was that i was impressed at first glance.First theses speakers have a very good weight to them.Theyre small but there a bit heavy wich usually is a good sign of quality sometimes. Then also the connections arent 5 way binding posts.Theyre just spring clips like you often find on cheaper speakers of course i knew that before buying them but i was impressed at how big and solid the spring clips felt.In no way did i feel that theses wouldnt last a long time. They feel very sturdy even if its partly plastic. The speaker casing is also plastic but its not flimsy. The grills are also sturdy enough. Then i hooked them up to my receiver with a 16 gauge quality cable from amazon.By the way the receiver i used for them is just a basic surround receiver.Probably 80 watts 2 channel driven at 8ohms.Theses speakers are 8 ohms wich is good cause most receiver wont have problems driving them. And speaking of driving them i had heard a reviewer on youtube say they were very easy to drive and he was right. When i plugged in theses and started using them i was amazed at how loud they got easily at low enough volume with no distortion at all.The whole time i tested theses i never heard distortion even when volumes where a bit loud. The only time that things might have gotten distorted was when i put on 2 movies that had a abnormal amount of bass and thoses movies are 'Tron Legacy' and 'Tenet'.During some of the scenes where the bass gets ridiculously low and out of this world bassy the frequency sounding a bit weird on the speakers but i'm sure thats normal given that theses speakers are not meant to play that sort of crazy bass.I think the speakers simply didnt know what to do with all that huge amount of bass.Other than thoses 2 movies i never heard the speakers distort again with anything else i fed it.And while were on the subject of bass theses small speakers are not suppose to have a lot of bass but i was stunned when i listen to certain movies with theses and i heard some crazy amount of bass frequency that could only come from theses speakers since there were not others connected.Among thoses movies are the ones i mentioned above.I tested theses speakers with a bunch of movies that are known to have reference audio mix modern soundtracks.I put the speakers about 50 inch apart wich i found was the best distance for sound.I also noticed that they worked better just sitting on the bottom of the tv cabinet instead of mounting them on stands.Of course when you put them on stands theyre more at ear level so you get a different sound but i found they seemed to perform better when just laying on the tv stand.Maybe its because it helped with creating more bass given theyre small size.Like i said i tested them with movies known for theyre reference audio mix or just thoses that just have good powerfull modern surround mix like 'Blade runner 2049','Tron Legacy','Tenet','Bad Boys for life','Top Gun:Maverick','Fast and furious 9','John wick 3','Dune(the remake)...ect...When watching thoses movies with the speakers i was amaze at how i was never reminded that i was watching thoses movies with small inexpensive bookshelf speakers. Most of the time it felt like i was listening to it on regular bookshelves speakers next to the tv.The sound sounded full and luxious and bigger than the speaker actually are.Now don't get me wrong.More expensive speakers sound better but for theyre size and theyre price theses speakers are still an amazing value on how they sound and on how loud they get with no distortion except maybe when the bass gets too crazy. The bass part is what really surprises me from theses speakers.when listening to movies like 'Tenet','Blade Runner 2049' or 'Tron legacy' theses speakers gave me some bass that i simply couldnt believe came from them for theyre size.Especially Tron Legacy there was some moments in that movie that with just theses 2 speakers it gave an amazing sounding experience with a boomy layer that was simply surprising.I also tested theses speakers with different genre of music and they also sounded very good with all music i used them with.I tested them with country music like Luke Combs,Jason aldean and the likes and they sounded great with them playing in stereo. At first when i used the speakers with music its like i didnt trust the speakers could sound full enough so i was upmixing the music in surround to make it sound better but then i realised than even with just normal stereo mode they sounded great and actually better that way. From then i kept just using them in stereo mode 2 channel playing like you would with normal size bookshelves. When playing movies i would mostly used the speakers in some upmixing surround mode on the receiver wich might be why the sound sounded so great and full too.To come back to music playing i also used the speakers with pop and dance music and they performed great with that too.So to finish this review i'm not here to say that theses speakers are the best speakers you can buy.I am not a audiophile snob like probably some other reviewers you could find on here that will put theses speakers down just because they only buy thousand dollars speakers all the time and can't appreciate what budget brands have to offer that still perform great for the price and size.I'm just a regular guy that is wanting to get into good sounding audio stuff.I didnt buy theses speakers for that reason but to my surprise they still perform really well for temporary speakers for me and i can easily recommend theses to someone who would want to make theses speakers theyre permanent choice for a super budget set up.For example if you prefer small speakers like theses for a full 5.1 set up i can easily see someone buying 5 of theses and using 1 for a center 2 for fronts and 2 for surrounds.Pair it with a cheap small subwoofer and a cheap receiver you can find second hand and you got in my opinion a surprising good sounding cheap home theater set up.Like i said earlier the strenght of theses speakers is they are pretty easy to drive. They get quite loud with little power and little to no distortion. And they seem durable. If you don't want to make a full setup with just them i can also recommend using them as either small atmos speakers or as surround speakers.Whatever you use them for i am sure you will be pleased given that you use them the right way and with the right equipment like i did. Before i finish this i will say that probably the reason why many people on here gave theses speakers bad reviews is because they didnt used them the right way or didnt test them the right way.I'm sure some people have used them with tiny amps feeding them like 3 watts per speaker lol and listening to music from the 30's and 50's that sound bad already and have used them with movies that have dated sound mix from the 70's and place the speakers right next to each others instead for spacing them 50 inch apart. And when watching movies they probably didnt have a receiver that could upmix the sound listening mode to something more imersive and all that.Only when you do all that then can you truely give a good acurate review of a cheap speaker. And thats what i did.I can say that even though theses speakers werent my first choice they have been a great experience while i have used them, have impressed me for theyre price and size and i will definately keep them even if replace them with better sounding ones.----- ---------UPDATE to REVIEW------AUGUST 2024------- Tought i would ad an update to this review as of now august 2024 i still have theses amazing small speakers.I am now using them as the back surround of my system for now and they perform really well as back surround speakers. My 3 fronts are bigger speakers but theses small ones in the back blend perfectly with the fronts and you often can't tell theyre smaller. The sound that comes out of them is much bigger than you would expect from the size.Of course to make them match better with the bigger fronts i have put the volume of the small back ones higher wich makes sense but still they impress me everytime since i had them. They worked well as temporary fronts at first and they still do a great job as back speakers for the ambient sounds in movie mixes. You really can't go wrong with theses small speakers. They still work great also after several months of using them.Never had any problems. They seem built to last.
