Great Satellite Radio With A Few Additions
This is a good satellite radio that is a great satellite radio with a few additions. The radio itself has a full color display, can store up to 20 preset channels, and can rewind and replay live satellite radio. The radio can be played through an existing radio using an AUX cable or by using the built-in FM transmitter. I play mine using the built-in FM transmitter which works flawlessly once you locate an unused FM frequency. I leave the car mount in my car and remove the satellite radio and store it and a remote control in a No Snooping Allowed Faraday Bag (2 Pack), RFID Signal Blocking Bag Shielding Pouch Wallet Case (sold on Amazon) when not in use. The Onyx comes a car installation kit, however I purchased a different mount than the self-adhesive mount included in the kit. I opted for a Low Profile Drinks Cup Holder Mount for Sirius XM Onyx Plus from Charger City sold on Amazon. It provides a really good grip in any cup holder and securely holds the Sirius XM Onyx in place. The installation instructions for the Onyx Plus recommends mounting the antenna outside the vehicle. Unless you are a professional installer, most people are not up to the task or thrilled about routing the antenna wire through moulding and weatherstripping in order to mount the antenna outside the vehicle. Not that I couldn't do it, but my biggest concern is the antenna getting damaged or tampered with and having to go through the whole installation process again. The Car Windshield Suction Cup Antenna Mount for Sirius / XM Radio from MFX2 sold on Amazon is a great alternative which provides a neat and professional looking way to mount the antenna inside your vehicle. The suction cup on this antenna mount provides a strong hold and the magnetic strips included with the mount do a great job holding the antenna in place. In most areas I get full signal strength, including the rural area in which I live. I recently traveled from Virginia to the U.P. of Michigan and back and had excellent reception most of the trip. I also bought a SXIR2 Universal Remote Control fit for SiriusXM Onyx Plus from PERFASCIN sold on Amazon. The remote works perfectly with Onyx Plus. The Onyx Plus is a nice package for anyone looking to add satellite radio to an existing vehicle or for anyone wanting to be able to move the radio from one vehicle to another. I recommend another vehicle mounting kit, a cup mount, and windshield antenna mount if you plan to move the radio from one vehicle to another. Sirius offers several introductory priced subscription packages and also offers a student and military discount.

The best Satellite Radio out there!
This is by far the best Satellite radio out there. This thing has alot of features that other radios do not have. Some of the key features that I really like are: #1) It will save up to 100 songs or artists of your choosing and recall them when they come on a station while you are listening to another (at which point you can just go to that song at the push of a button). The cool thing about this is, if you like a lot of songs of a particular artist, you can choose that option and it will display whenever any of that artist's songs come on and it only uses one of those one hundred saves available. #2) You can hit the "rewind button" and listen to whatever song you are listening to at the time. You can skip back to as many as 30 minutes worth of songs. This applies to both saved songs and whatever is currently playing live. #3) On stations that are saved on presets 1 - 9 on Bank A, when you go push those presets, it will start at the beginning of the song playing on that particular preset instead of at the point it was playing when that preset is pushed. I believe this is the only radio that shows album art. This is cool, but if I have any kind of complaint at all about this unit, it's that the album art is smallish and can be hard to see depending on the art. This, however, is a non-issue for me really. Especially when you consider the display shows the artist and song name on the sreen at the same time. Overall, it is an awesome radio and you won't find it at a better price anywhere than Amazon.

Easy Install
I installed this in a Honda CR-V. Installing the antenna and running its wire from the rear of the vehicle up to the front was a breeze. I ran the wire around the rear hatch rubber weather strip until it met a piece of vertical plastic trim that had a seam right at the interior roof line. From there it ran along the seam were the roof liner meets the side trim - slipping the thin wire in the small gap was easy. I ran it along the length of the car along the roof line, and then followed the seam down until it met the dash. For now I just ran the wire across the dash. For mounting I used the included vent mount. I did find that the pre-installed clips are too short when you account for the wire connections that will protrude from the rear of the dock. I substituted the included extended clips and it easily snapped in place in one of my center vents. Eventually I'll likely switch to the dash mount for a more secure installation. The radio is quite small so it doesn't take up much space. For audio I used the auxiliary connection provided in my vehicle. The unit fired right up when powered on. There were a few settings to select upon first use, such as time zone and DST. From there it was time to set up an account online and provide the radio ID number displayed on the unit's screen. Setting up an account took about 5 minutes and went through without a problem. My radio was immediately activated. The display is nice and easy to read. The inclusion of album art is a nice visual addition, although not really necessary. The unit does have a "guide" that allows you to scroll through channel names with a brief description and select which to listen to. There is a bit of a lag scrolling through the channels. There are 20 channel presets, which is more than enough for me. The unit powers on and off with the vehicle's auxiliary power - no need to ever press the power button. Sound quality is good using my vehicle's auxiliary port.

About as easy to install and use as it could be
I'm very pleased with this unit. It was relatively to easy to install, though I wouldn't consider that as universal praise. Depending on the vehicle, your experience may or may not visit you with the same conclusion. I already had an active account with Sirius/XM, so activating the unit was easier than it might be for some. The antenna (magnetic) works fine, with never a hiccup from the start. Fortunately, my vehicle (2020 Nissan Frontier) has the ability to add an auxiliary feed into the sound system, so it was just a matter running the cable from the antenna, plugging in the input from the XM radio to the auxiliary port, connect the power supply, and I was off and running (after calling Sirius/XM and activating the satellite feed). Overall, the whole installation (and use of) was much less onerous than for what I was prepared. I wish I'd done it years ago. I would definitely recommend this unit and would buy it again.

Great device; vent mount not too stable when pressing buttons; Need grounded noise isolator to get rid of whining from engine
The vent clip holder is OK, but not the most stable when you press the buttons. You really need to hold it when you press the preset buttons, particularly the ones on either end. Also, there's a whining sound when I rev my engine. I understand that this can be fixed with a grounded loop isolator which I've ordered, so we'll see. I really like that it's pulling in all the songs for 10 channels and you can go back and forth and find songs that have played on any of those 10 channels in the last 30 minutes and play any of them. The interface is pretty decent for the size screen and the buttons that are available to work with in such a small device. The antenna wire is really long which is great if you're looking to put it on the exterior of the vehicle, but I just put mine on my dash, so I have to tuck a BUNCH of excess wire behind the unit to hide it. Would've been nice if they could have made it modular with a short wire for dashboard mounting and an extension wire for exterior mounting. And there's no issue with reception with the antenna on the dashboard. From a functionality standpoint, the ability to move around to channels, pause/play, play songs that have already passed on other channels, See what is currently playing on other channels, it's way better than any reasonable priced in-dash unit I've found and is 1/10th the price or better. And DO NOT get service that costs you more than $5/mo. Find the $5mo for $25 deal and then when it's close to expiring, call Sirius up and say you're going to cancel... then they'll offer you cheaper deals off the list price until they get to one that costs $5/mo... that's the one you want. However Sirius charged me $15 to switch my subscription from my old radio in my old car to this new one, which I thought was pretty cheap/scummy of them. But I like the service and I had 4 months left on the old one, so it was the better option.

When All Else Fails, Follow the Directions! :)
(please excuse the dust on the dashboard in the photos, I was not expecting company, lol.) Finally broke down and bought this during the Prime Day sale, after trying to decide whether to upgrade from my streaming only package that I've had for the last year or so. Been playing it via FM receiver in my car via the bluetooth on my phone, and that WORKED but it just wasn't all that convenient, and the sound quality was acceptable but sometimes a bit iffy. So when they reduced the price of this unit down to lower than any other time since I've been tracking it, I went ahead and got it. Converting over from my streaming only service to the regular radio service was easy, I did it via chat on their website, and while they tried, naturally, to upsell me to a more expensive package (I did NOT use the offer on the box; via their website, they were offering the $16.99 service for $4.99/month for the next year, less than what I've been paying for streaming only, and a better deal than on the box), they made it very easy to change service plans and did it all for me while we were doing the chat. Re the installation: Saw online that while the instructions say to mount the antenna on the roof outside, and run the wiring underneath the weather stripping on the windshield and into the car that way, people have been just attaching it to the dash or windshield from INSIDE the car and having it work for them. So given that it's the middle of summer and the mosquitos eat you alive any time you step outside here, I opted to at least TRY putting the antenna inside the car. Attached it to my rear view mirror so it was really only a few inches away from where it would be if I had it outside. And it worked, kinda. While I was on the freeway during my work commute. Sounded fantastic there. But there are so many trees here in Raleigh that the signal kept breaking every time I'd drive in my neighborhood, or in the neighborhood right close to work. Sounded absolutely awful, like listening to a record skipping on a turntable. After a week of that, decided to battle the mosquitos outside, and mount the thing per the instructions on the roof and see if that fixed the audio dropouts. Made All The Difference In The World. Been driving here there and everywhere, and since I put it on the roof over the weekend, for the last three days since then, the audio has NOT broken even once. So yes, now that I followed the concept of "when all else fails, follow the directions", I am LOVING having proper satellite radio in my car. Sounds much better than the Bluetooth FM receiver version, and the extra features on the dock, like artist alert and all those presets, are awesome. Still learning what all the extra buttons do, and went ahead and picked up a remote for it on ebay, so I don't have to reach quite so far to work them. Just really impressed across the board with it now.

Good upgrade radio
Decent unit - had a Roady several years ago and was ready to come back to sat radio again. Regular FM radio and Pandora and other internet radio isn't always cutting it for me. Was able to use the existing antenna that I had installed for my Roady which was nice and can use the existing mount, although had to do a little bit of a modification with my Dremel so that the connections could be made, simple fix. Not easy for me to do a manual tune, although it is available as I have found out. Takes a little bit of learning to use it but nothing too hard to understand if you are patient. Only thing I don't like is the subscriptions that Sirius/XM have....they don't let you turn off auto-renew easily (I despise these kinds of things on my bank acct/credit card) and they're alot more expensive now than they were when I had my Roady a few years back. From what I found out, they apparently deleted my account from my previous usage so they have no 'specials' for former users coming back, which makes no sense. With their financial and stock issues, you would think they would give something, even if it is small, to welcome back a former user, but guess they don't want to reward those who have come back to their service....the service side when you talk to someone on the phone I know was never really good and seems they haven't fixed it - hope I don't run into the same problem as the last time when the agents don't understand the word NO. Anyway, we'll see how the next 6 mo goes. If you want a good radio unit, this is a great one, just be ready for any cust service issue that you have to talk to someone as being sub-par

Very nice feature set for the price
This is a great little XM radio. It allows you to save 20 favorite stations! This means I can have 10 for baseball and 10 more for everything else! Plus, it can pause the programming while I fill up my truck, so I won't miss any good action. One really nifty feature is that after the radio has been on for awhile, you cannot only pause the program, but you can go back and re listen to that song you love! Hit the button once, go back ONE song - hit the button twice, go back TWO songs and so on. Have you had that experience where you flip through your favorite channels, and all of them are playing crummy songs? Well dang! But with this radio, you will never have to endure this unbearable frustration again! The "go back" feature works across all the music stations, so that when a crummy song comes on the 60s oldies channel, you can switch over to the 70s oldies channel and back up a few songs until you find one you love! If you can't find a good song on the 70s station, just click on over to the Love Song channel and repeat the process. You will never have to listen to a crummy song again! Paradise, almost... Anyway, for the price of this radio, you will be impressed by its features. Get one.

Excellent radio, I am very happy with this purchase
Excellent radio, I am very happy with this purchase. I travel a lot in the areas without cell & Internet coverage, so it’s nice to have a lot of channels. I installed antenna on my dashboard and this radio still works fine. I only have occasional cuts when I drive in the areas with a lot of hills. IMPORTANT note: SiriusXM is a brand. However, sold radios have exclusively Sirius or XM network (ie radios with both networks do not exist). In the most instances it’s not a problem – both networks are quite similar, however, if you really like some channels, check listing of each network and only after that you can buy the radio which is going to support that particular network and your favorite channels.

Satellite radio rocks!!
My new car came with on board Sirius XM service. My older car was jealous and wanted to have a wider variety of music to please its owner. Satellite radio is clear and provides a lot more variety than regular radio. I was planning a few long road trips and instead of having local radio stations fade in and out I enjoyed continuous, uninterrupted music. This unit was easy to install and even though the instruction indicates that the antenna should be roof mounted, I decided to try placing it on my dash near the windshield. Perfect reception!!!!
