This trap works great! My neighbors have a different brand but the beetles can get out where this bag that small opening makes it tricky! I have already replaced my bag and with in a day there was a inch of beetles. They are terrible around here. I even go around and get them off plants but since using this trap I've noticed less on my plants and trees.

Amazing! 10 stars! It traps beetles within just a few minutes of hanging it out properly. The pheromones are odorous—that’s the magic. The rubber open capsule must contain some sort of something that works with the pheromone cake—leave it & just trust it & hang at the proper height. Follow the instructions by not peeling the foil 100%. You’ll have an extremely high kill rate for only $10 (it’s an excellent value) and your flowers will fare 90% better than without this trap. I’d like to embrace the inventor. I have gently emptied the bag (of live & dead beetles) at a rate of every several days, rinsed & re-hung it (not in the instructions though) with loads of continued success through rain, wind & sun. Live beetles trapped—I emptied by placing the mouth of the bag over a jar of water that has a few drops of dish soap—this breaks the surface tension. The remaining live beetles die by drowning.

Works well near our garden. The chickens are also happy with the beetles!

I’ve had it out for less than an hour and I already have 25 Beatles! I give it a five for how well it works I give it a 1 for how poor the directions are! The directions say not to remove the product on the actual attractant packaging but I did not see that. The trick is to leave the attractant in the package peel back the top layer and the whole plastic attractant holder slips into the top part of the contraption. The end of the bag with a tiny holes goes at the bottom and the part of the bag with the four holes goes at the top. Hope that helps someone

These traps are a must-have if you have Japanese Beetle problems. I couldn't believe how well these traps worked. In only a week, the bag was completely full. We put these in our Weeping Cherry Tree because the beetles were destroying it. It pulled the majority of them off the leaves and into the bag. I know it says to put the bags downwind and about 20 feet away, but we had to put it in the tree to save it, and it worked. The other bags we put about 20 feet from our plum and apple tree and saw a noticeable difference in the infestation on the fruit trees. We will use these again. They are pricey for a plastic bag and small pheromone attractant. I think they are grossly overpriced but I am guessing they get away with the high price because it actually works.

Wow, this trap is effective! We had another brand of trap up for a few months (Spectracide) that wasn't catching many beetles...we replaced it with the Beetle Bagger, and the bag is full after 2 days. The lure scent is definitely stronger, or more inviting to beetles, than other brands. The plastic bag hanger is also a better design than Spectracide's, which requires an extra hook (not included) to hang.

I put one of these bags out 2 days ago, I already had to change the bag!! These work very well. Worth the money!! Great product

Definitely worked but the bags didn't want to stay open for the beetles to fall into. Poor bag/hangar design. Took some regular adjustments to make the opening actually stay open. The pheromones are definitely good though. May pay extra next time for a different brand with less issues with the design. Lastly they give you two bags but only one pheromone pack. I would have liked two of each.
