JAPANESE BEETLES ARE GONE!
I decided to plant an organic flower garden that attracts butterflies this summer. At first, I saw a few of these colorful & shiny beetles and didn't think nothing of it. But it didn't take long before they multiplied and I saw how destructive they really are. If not for this Beetle Bagger product, I probably wouldn't even have a flower garden right now. I went through 3 bags before the beetles disappeared from my flower garden entirely. I have another box of this product on standby in case anymore come around again. This process is kinda gross, though. I hate to cause such a horrible & prolonged death on any creature, even these destructive beetles. I'm sure most ppl think I'm crazy, though. But it was either them or my flower garden & butterflies, bees & other pollinators. I could only look at the full bags long enough to put them in a trash bag, many were still alive - just hopelessly trapped. But, NO HARMFUL CHEMICALS were needed, and that's a huge plus!

These traps really attract and catch lots of Japenese beetles
These beetle traps do a very good job of attracting and catching Japanese beetles. At times the traps look like busy airports with beetles lined up to fly into the trap. When setting the traps up, it is VERY IMPORTANT to put them along the property line and away from plants that you are trying to protect. The reason is that the traps will attract beetles from neighboring properties and if they are in the middle of your property instead of the edge they could actually increase the numbers of beetles that find the way onto your property and stop off to eat your plants before making it to the traps. I like to place the traps at the corners of my property and at strategic places to attract the beetles away from the plants I'm trying to protect. The packaging says the traps should be spaced about 150' apart along the property line and from my experience this is sound advice. I just wish I could buy replacement lores and bags from the same Amazon merchant such that shipping costs could be merged and thus buying replacements would be more cost effective than buying the entire kit. This would certainly cut down on the number of plastic yellow trap frames that get thrown away.

Nasty, but cool!
Works better than expected! These buggers were destroying our fruit trees. This is 4 days of collection. Almost an inch per day. Seems to work best in late afternoon, during the hottest part of the day.

Poor Directions (tips below) Works Great
Iโve had it out for less than an hour and I already have 25 Beatles! I give it a five for how well it works I give it a 1 for how poor the directions are! The directions say not to remove the product on the actual attractant packaging but I did not see that. The trick is to leave the attractant in the package peel back the top layer and the whole plastic attractant holder slips into the top part of the contraption. The end of the bag with a tiny holes goes at the bottom and the part of the bag with the four holes goes at the top. Hope that helps someone

Wow. This exceeds my expectations!
Wow. The amount of beetles it caught in the 1st hour was insane! Yes, it's gross to empty the bag when it's getting heavy but the awkwardness of doing it is well worth the results it gives. I highly recommend this! It's amazing. So easy to use n very effective.

Easy to use
I get japanese beetles coming after my garden. I placed these traps away from my garden and it draws the beetles away from garden. They can't get out once they fall in. These traps are less expensive than others but it does just as good a job. I used them last year and hung them out this year. Jyst cleaned out the bag n stored it over the winter in airtight container. The lure is still catching these critters

Works with caveats. Budget option.
Definitely worked but the bags didn't want to stay open for the beetles to fall into. Poor bag/hangar design. Took some regular adjustments to make the opening actually stay open. The pheromones are definitely good though. May pay extra next time for a different brand with less issues with the design. Lastly they give you two bags but only one pheromone pack. I would have liked two of each.

Amazing how many come from all over daily just to get bagged!
We currently have 3 of these set up. On a good hot day we are getting well over 200 of these little buggers in each. (the white picture is 1 day's catch of all 3 traps before disposal down the drain!) Much more that the few we see on the plants before we started using these. Soapy water is still good to knock these off the plants into, but for larger captures, these are great. We are not seeing nearly as many on our plants from before we started using these. As each kit has 2 bags, we dispose of the prior day's catch, wash it out & use the other bag while this one dries. One bag has developed a rip on a seam so that will need to be repaired. I think we still want to treat our grass with milky spore based fertilizer (this fall & next spring) to kill off the larva before they become adults for next season & hope more of our neighbors do the same. Still amazing at how many of these we catch daily. We also like these as the drain holes are not large enough for the beetles to escape through as other brands seem to allow (just their heads get stuck). Only design change I would make is to somehow make the center of the hour glass shape hold open better as at times this sticks together & the beetles gather here until you squeeze it open & they fall down to join their friends.
