Highly Recommended
Update: Still love the unit, but I have discovered there is about a 10 second delay from when I shift into reverse until the camera turns on and the image comes up. Under normal routine conditions, by the time the image displays on the screen I am done reversing. It works it you shift into reverse, wait 10 seconds. and then start moving. Still give the product a mythical 6 rating. 1 month update: Still very happy with the unit. Now have installed a back up camera. Very very cool to see the unit come to life, flip up the screen, and display the scene behind the car when shifting into reverse. It was a bit of work to install the camera and run the cables to the head unit. It took a couple of hours, but well worth the effort. Only 1 minor problem. I have upgraded from Droid to IPhone 5 since I installed the unit.. The Bluetooth connection isn't quite as smooth as it was with the Droid. The Acoustik tries unsuccessfully to download the IPhone phone book. It take the unit about a minute to go through its routine before it gives up. There might be a slight compatibility issue between the Acoustik and IPhone 5 (which is also very very cool). However, the Acoustik also works very well as the hand free speaker/microphone. Much better than the dedicated Jabra hands-free that I was using. So after a month I am upping the rating to a 6. Still an incredible value (I bought for $166). The one feature that the Acoutik does not have is the radio information scroll some other radio have that provides the station name and often the name of the song. Too bad because it would seem such a simple feature to add. But still, the unit looks and sounds great none the less. This unit has far exceeded my expectations. original review: I was persuaded to try this unit by all of the great reviews, but was I highly skeptical. And then the box came in with graphics that I swear only a 16-year old kid could dream up (smoking skulls with wings!!??) and a broken-English instruction/installation manual that added to my reservations about the product. I almost decided to return it be fore putting it in. I am glad I didn't. VERY NICE UNIT with GREAT sound (and I am very picky about sound systems). I am not sure how it is possible, but the sound from the radio is soooo much better than the premium Infinity system I replaced. Very intuitive controls, both manual and on-screen. Bluetooth paired up right away and continues to sync up every time I get in the car with my Droid. I haven't installed the back up camera yet because the installation manual was wrong, I later found a separate installation sheet tucked in with the warranty info. I installed the unit myself in about 3 hours. I strongly suggest that you purchase a wiring adapter that will plug right into the existing wiring connector from Crutchfield ([...]) when you order the PTID unit. Note: I suggest using the 'chat' with the staff' option on the Crutchfield website to track down the correct adapter They were great. This adapter will allow you to keep the original wiring, which keeps things much cleaner, and make it much easier to wire. I wired the adapter to the head unit in my kitchen and then carried the whole ready-to-plug-in unit down to the garage and just plugged it in. Much, much easier than trying to connect the wires when in the dash board. Like all flip-up screen units, the head unit does stick out about an inch from the dash board to accommodate the flip-up screen. It does look a little weird sticking out like that, but it doesn't look bad. In fact when on it looks pretty good. I have seen similar units for anywhere from $300 to $600. So for $166 this product is an absolute bargain. With the self-installation ($200) I figure I just got an $800 unit for les than $200. It was a good day.

Looks pretty good to me...
When you get a head unit with a motorized screen for 175 bucks from a company called "Power Acoustik", you don't expect much. I'm no audiophile, so as long as I get okay sounding music from a head unit, i'm good with it. I believe it said the retail price was $550 or something like that, and I take that with a big grain of salt (no one would actually buy a "Power Acoustik" head unit for $550, i'm sure). I got it for extremely cheap (for having a motorized screen), and so I expected the quality to be very low as well. Also, apparently some people got faulty units as well, which makes me nervous, like when I play the lottery. You have that feeling like you *hopefully* have a winner, but more than likely not... When I got the unit and installed it, I was pleasantly shocked. The unit looks pretty good to me. Overall quality of the unit looks as good as any head unit i've had in the past. The screen rolls out quickly, movies look pretty good on it. I put it into an Acura Integra, so the viewing angle is weird because of the dash layout, but I can still see the whole picture perfectly. When you plug a USB drive into the unit, it scans it for videos and plays them automatically, which was pretty cool. it does play xvid and divx encoded avi, checked both of those already. I haven't tried bluetooth yet, so can't comment on that, but i checked out the interface, and the layout looks pretty easy to use. The subwoofer channel (only single/mono RCA out, so if you have your amp set up for dual input you'll need a splitter) works very well. You can change the crossover on the unit easily on the touchscreen or using the included remote, as well as the subwoofer volume level. There's also 3 more sets of pre-outs; front stereo, back stereo, and then front/back dual out. It comes with a nylon bag for the face, and not a case, but I never remove the face anyways (head units are so cheap nowadays that car thieves could make more profit siphoning your gas out than stealing your head unit). Oh, and to kill that annoying little "safety" feature (the parking brake switch), where the videos will only play while the parking brake is engaged, that was way easily skirted by grounding the parking brake line, unlike other units where you need a completely separate component to "fix" it. I mean, what's the point of having a DVD player in your car if you can't watch movies in traffic?? (just joking, Officer) And 14 bucks more for a rearview camera (sold separately)? I'm in an integra, so it absolutely is neither needed or really useful, but for 14 bucks, count me in. Not what I bought the unit for, the unit does have inputs for the cam and tail light switch, so i ran the wires but didn't hook up the camera in back yet. I did test it out in the car before putting everything back together, to make sure i get picture, but haven't hooked it to the tail light yet or mounted the camera (license tag mount). If the quality sucks, i'll attribute that to the camera i got (ha 14 bucks, of course it's the camera) and not the head unit. All in all, i'd buy this thing again, especially for 175 bucks. I've had my share of cheap-ass head units in the past, and while this isn't Kenwood or Clarion or whatever, it doesn't reek of crapola like a Dual, Pyle, or Boss does. If you have had one of those in the past, you'll know the stench of low quality very well. For the price, I seriously doubt you could beat this thing. If you get a working unit, that is, which I did. And i'm happy with it. P.S. the USB input does not read an iphone... just FYI if you were getting it to try that. it does not work; they'd probably have to pay Apple royalties to have that function (HA just ask Samsung about how that works). I didn't try my iPod yet, but did happen to have my iphone in my pocket so i gave it the ol' college try... You can, however, (supposedly - haven't tried yet) hook up your phone and stream over bluetooth (A2DP). If i ever actually try that, i'll update the review.

Great value for price
I purchased this unit for my 14 year old Volvo S70. I'd typically go with something more high end, but frankly, I had a kind of freakish curiosity that perhaps I could get everything I needed without shelling out big money on a name-brand head unit. Perhaps I could save myself some money and still be satisfied. While lower price may mean "lower quality", it is important to consider the value you get for your money. Don't expect this unit to have the features and finish of a $900 head unit, because you are not paying $900 for it. That being said, for the price, I have not seen anything better. I've installed stereos on a variety of vehicles over the years, so I installed this unit myself in the garage. It took me about 15 minutes because I used an adapter harness that was made for my car. Everything was plug and play. I tested the head unit by plugging it in and going through all of the functions before doing the final install. It is worth noting that once installed, this unit, even with screen retracted, will stick out at least 3/4 of an inch from your dash/console. This is just how it is designed, and it allows for clearance of the screen when it comes out. The screen itself is what you would expect for a head unit at this price. It is clear, and the touch screen is accurate (you can calibrate it through the menu), but again, do not expect iPad quality visuals. It is suitable for watching videos, but the resolution isn't going to blow anyone away. The screen comes out and retracts with the push of a button, it is nice and smooth, and the speed that it opens and closes seems suitable. This unit loads CDs and starts playing songs very quickly, much more quickly than an OEM unit. Bluetooth is the best feature thus far on this unit. It would be foolish not to order this unit with bluetooth. I'm pairing the unit with my LG Optimus G Pro phone (Android), and the unit and phone have no trouble communicating. Once the phone and head unit are paired, you can make calls, scroll through your contact list, but most importantly of all, you can stream MP3s from your phone directly to the head unit, just as if you had a USB or DVD full of songs inserted. The interaction between phone and the head unit is fast and seamless. The overall finish of this unit is glossy piano black, and it doesn't look too "cheap". The controls are intuitive, and it comes with a remote, which I assume is for the people sitting in the back, or person in the passenger seat. Remote is decent; basically what you'd expect on a unit of this price. All of the buttons are the same size, so you have to look at the remote while using it instead of just being able to "feel" for the correct button. The LCD display on the front of the unit (while the screen is retracted) displays in simple light blue color, which in my opinion, makes it look much less cheesy than some expensive units that light up in pink/red/green/blue etc. The front LCD is simple and easy to use at first glance. The whole system is fairly self explanatory, and most people would probably be able to figure out most of the functions without even looking at the instruction booklet. I gave this unit five stars, because for the price, I cannot find any fault with it. It definitely exceeded my expectations for a unit of this price.

Simply Awful
Ok so I bought this unit because it is visually a pretty nice looking unit and it packs a good amount of tech for the price. installation was fairly simple and quick. I powered the unit on And started adjusting settings to my liking. J felt the software was pretty clumsy overall but i could live with it. The unit stopped working within ONE WEEK and i had a total usage time of maybe 2 hours before it died. the unit wont turn on now, it does get power as i can eject a disc or let the screen in or out but it wont power on tona usable state. Everything has been troubleshot and everything is fine. The unit just crapped out and after such a lkmited time of use its simply unacceptable. Very dissapointed and hknestly i know i will never purchase another product from them. Even sending back the product in hopes of getting it fixed or replaced is gonna cost tonsendnit to them and they want another $15 in order to send it back to me. My advice is to ignore the 4 stars this product has fornsime reason, consider it one star and choose a different manufacture

THIS PRODUCT IS FUCKIN AMAZING SO AWSOME NICE LOOK EVERYTHING WORKS BT HAS GOOD RANGE...... but!!! I bought this and had pro. installed and 4 months later the volume went out I thought it was the faceplate but it actually was the deck not the faceplate witch baffles me idk how the volume gets messed up but 4 months down the road 2 days ago t be exact the volume started glitchin and would either turn itself all the way up or all the way down and would stay there couldn't turn it up unless u use the remote and even then I had to constinly click the opposite volume to keep it constantly around 35 and idk maby was just that one but after this happened I contacted the manufacture and they will not warranty this product since u buy it from amazon even though it comes with a warranty card WTF I told my self well luckly amazon has always been there for me and they sent me a whole new one free and it was free 1 day shipping here and free shipping back I LOVE U AMAZON. and thanks .... just be mindful that this can happen to u but its also a great product for the price and I also have 2 power acoustik 15" subs (trying to keep it all power acoustik)

Working fine. Overall good value. Nice, Like it
I purchased this PTID-8920B for my LANCER ES 2004 SEDAN in Black Friday and had it installed at the closest Auto shop. It was replacing a Pioneer 15 UB. I already had a separate battery, the Shuriken bt-20, feeding two amplifiers: The Alpine MRP-300 4 ch and the BOSS PHANTOM PH 1502MW Mono. My amps driving a set of Infinity 2 ohm component speakers in the front doors and Sony Xplot 6 x 9 on the Rear deck. Also, pushing 2 Sony Xplod 10” subs in the trunk. So, with the 15-UB I had attained a really good quality from my music without using optional EQS or Crossovers. But I was dreaming about a DVD player with the optional Rear View Camera. So I decided this Power Acoustik PTID-8920B which I thought was good deal for the price, Bluetooth and all. I paired It with a generic Rear View camera that’s waterproof. After installation Observations: The touch screen has good response. It works fine with my fingers. The settings are easygoing. You can change the angle of the flip out monitor. Actually there was an incompatibility with the dash of my LANCER. When the monitor came out, it was getting obstructed by the upper part of the dash. So, hehheh. I guess this is a factor everytime when adding after market components. A little customization needed. So I dealt with that before the unit got broken ok!!!! Display settings enables you to go through 3 levels of brightness, useful for attaining less power consumption. DVD settings, the most useful stuff when watching DVDs. Now for the most important, the SOUND SETTINGS: Having changed from a Pioneer, these settings are poor. And that is to be expected for the price. You get preset EQ curves (Rock, Flat, etc.) Rock sounds better. You can tweak the EQ yourself, you get Bass, Treble, Fader, Balance, Loudness, and the Subwoofer output (Turn this on). The subwoofer output features 1 mono jack (Not L and R RCA’s, so you’ll need an optional Y adapter so you can connect RCA’s to the amplifier). Media playback: DVD/CD PLAYER – Overall good sound quality, tons of BASS Output. Nice Highs and Mids. USB Drive – Sound quality decreases. You get less bass output. Tons of Highs and Mids. You get better results when switching the EQ to Rock. AV-IN – Tons of Highs and Mids, but the Bass is far. Bluetooth – Tons of highs and Mids. Less Bass. But I should add that this feature is very convenient. You get to play music from your Tablet or Smartphone without cables. To this date I haven’t tried having a phone conversation using the Bluetooth feature. I focused on the sound quality. DVD MOVIES – I tried a couple DVDs. It’s working fine. Radio Tuner – Has some useful features. LOCAL, AS/PS. FM reception is working fine. Commentaries: The front panel as lots of buttons that are really small. I try to use the remote control always. The remote control has lots of buttons, so in order to use the unit it requires from you that you sit down and read. I don’t think somebody that comes to check your new car stereo for the first time would be able to understand it. It’s hard to read the small LCD screen. But who cares, it’s what you get for the price. Overall I believe I got a good deal. This unit packs good VALUE, and with a nice price. If you are an audio fanatic and you find the unit has too little features for tweaking your sound, all you have to do is to add an optional preamp EQ. I already did this. Warning: When installing, be sure you get a “Good Ground”. I was getting noise through the speakers everytime I turned on the lights. Because the guys who installed the unit messed up with this. I added noise suppressor filters and it was fine but still I wasn’t completely satisfied. Couple days later I found out that this was the cause of the problem. I corrected this myself.

... my Nissan Murano for 4 years and I still like it. Sound is good
I've had this in my Nissan Murano for 4 years and I still like it. Sound is good, it was pretty easy to install, good price, lots of functions, and it has continued to work well over all this time. Stressing that overall I'm very happy with this stereo, here are just a few quirks that I feel I need to mention: Screen tilt: When I first installed it, I put it on the top portion of a double-DIN opening with the spacer on the bottom. The screen would pop out and extend up, but it would hit the lip of the opening for some reason and the motor would sense this and immediately pull it back in. I think the screen doesn't come forward enough, so when it tilts back it can easily run in to other parts of your dash kit. Or it would be easier if you could change the angle the screen stays in. I got around this by moving this to the bottom portion of the opening and putting the single-DIN spacer on top, but I still had to cut the opening a little wider so the screen wouldn't just catch the side and roll back in. i.e. I fixed it now but it was a pain in the *** at the time. The other weird thing is if your push the back button in the middle of a CD track, it will actually go to the previous song. Generally any other stereo goes to the beginning of the song you are currently listening to, but for some reason this system doesn't. Not a big deal but weird, right? Anyway, I still have gotten a ton of use from the stereo and I love the bluetooth usability. Great buy for the price.

Works well, especially for the price!!
I installed this myself. The instructions were super easy and I looked up a video on youtube for it as well. It took about 30 minutes to put it together and install it. It is a "little" too big for the space, but we made it work. The bluetooth mic works really well. People can hear me better on this one than an in-ear model. I play my iphone music through the bluetooth as well. No wires. Just pair your phone with it and it will play your music through the speakers. The touchscreen is not as sensitive as your smartphone, but it works just fine. The aux jack works well too. I don't use it much but I bought a cable to connect my phone. It worked well when I tried it. I mostly bought this stereo for the SD card. It isn't the greatest organization of files, but it is definitely navigable. I would highly recommend this product if you are looking for a touch screen stereo.

Radio fried within a month, didn’t let me return it after a day past the return deadline
Radio fried within a month, heard a pop and smelt smoke. Didn’t come with the proper wires, ended up spending 100 just trying to get the right cords to use it. Touchscreen goes down if angled wrong automatically within a specific amount of time. Not a reliable aftermarket stereo
