This Printer is Great For Portability
Because I didn't want to dish out the overpriced dollars for the Canon iP100, I looked for something on a smaller priced scale. I did minimal research because I knew I wanted a Canon. The latest Canon CP780 does the job it's advertised. My printed photos are rich and colorful. One minute print times are okay, and the paper/ink sets (sold separately) fully coincide with the printer. I haven't had any snags or stuck papers. The printer doesn't take up any space at all in my living space.A couple of complaints. I agree with other reviewers about some of my photos having cut off heads during printing. It's only a few photos I've had a problem with, but it's not great. The other issue is the 4x6 photo size. I would love to have the option to print on 3x2 to make for an even more intimate photo collection. Currently, when my photos come up, I have to tweak the settings to print them on half a sheet. Now I have about 50 half sheets of unused photos! And no, you cannot use the other half of the photo for a different picture. It would be nice to have various sample sizes of paper (and cassettes) included in the box.One more thing is it would be nice to have a battery and bluetooth included. With current technology the way it is, the assumed portability of this printer, I should be able to open the box and start printing without going through the hassle of finding a plug, hooking it up, etc. That's why it's considered portable. I would pay an extra $20 for this printer if those items were included. My opinion.A note on customer service: My printer for some reason didn't come with the sample 5-sheet print pack, so instead of me sending the printer back, Amazon refunded me a small percentage. I love their customer service!

Not Good
Put the ink carriage in and when I tried to take it out, it wouldn't come out. Tried everything an it still wouldn't come out.

Perfect for the price!
I bought this printer to have at a friend's wedding. People were able to come up and stick their SD cards in the printed and we added them to a scrap book. It worked great!!! We worked the printer hard, too. We were through about 200 photos in one night. I don't think it had much of a break for the 4 hours it was on. The next day we loaded it up again for people to print pictures for themselves and we probably ran another 150 or so. It handled 350 pictures in less than 24 hours. I've printed about 200 more pictures on it since then and it's still kicking :) I'm buying two more as gifts for my family. One little thing...don't put in too much paper. It will fault out, but it won't break it...the paper is packaged in a certian quantity for a reason. I was being too lazy to keep adding more paper when it ran out. The picture quality is fantastic for the price...no one could believe it! Another thing that is nice is you can touch the picture as soon as it comes out...great for curious kids.

NONE of the Canon Selphys are compatible with latest Mac OS
I enjoyed the convenience and small size of this printer UNTIL my Mac's operating system was updated and Canon decided it wasn't important to offer new print drivers. So now I am forced to replace my photo printer because it's incompatible with my computer. At least I got a few good years out of this printer, though. Shockingly the latest Selphy models have this same flaw: they are NOT compatible with Mac OS X El Capitan, much less the even newer Mac OS Sierra. So I can't even just upgrade to the latest Selphy model. Instead, I am now buying an Epson. Very disappointed in Canon!

It will brake after a few weeks
Be careful with the ink cartridge, it gets stuck and it will never come off, no matter what you do.

Exactly what I wanted!
Setup was very simple, it's small, it prints relatively quickly and the print quality is great! This is exactly what I was looking for in a compact photo printer. I just hope it lasts for a long time without any problems. But as of now, excellent product.Update (2/27/2013):It worked well and photos came out looking great... until it broke. Cartridge jam resulted in an un-salvageable unit - couldn't get cartridge out, tried to take the whole thing apart to clean up the mess left inside and get the cartridge out, but there is no easy way of doing this with such a tiny printer. Had to trash the whole thing.. now debating if I should buy another or just order prints from local pharmacy. Disappointed that this happened without much wear on the printer (it wasn't used frequently).

Overall a winner
The print quality surprised me a little. It took a little experimentation to calibrate the driver's brightness, saturation and contrast settings to match what Photoshop was sending to it. I'm ok with 60 seconds for a 4 x 6 print, given how inexpensive this device is. My 2 areas of concern are durability and actual print size. I took it to a small event where I needed to print about 100 images, and after 20 or so, the unit kept alerting me that it was running too hot and had to stop printing for a while. I'd let it sit for a few minutes, and then it would be fine for maybe 15 - 20 prints, before the warning returned. The printer wasn't sitting up against a wall or in a spot not well ventilated, so I'll have to keep a close watch on that. Maybe, I'll pick up a second unit for high volume jobs.Second, the actual paper size (after you cut off the tabs) is more like 3 5/8" by 5 5/8". With some frames that can bite you in the behind if you don't give your subjects enough "headroom" when shooting. Once you know the limitation, it's easy to shoot to compensate for it.From a cost perspective, with this dye sublimation printer you can get prints for about 27 cents each, if you purchase the 108 print/ribbon bundles. That's not dirt cheap, but it's not unreasonable considering you don't have to mess with ink cartridges running out in mid-job. There's something very elegant (although maybe not efficient) about having exactly the amount of dye material to match the number of blank sheets in the hopper. Now, if someone could introduce an inexpensive version that printed 4 x 6's AND 5 x 7's, we'd really have something!
