It Works!
I had never heard of these types of "staplers" before until our Parish Bulletins used them. I had to buy a couple for testing and this is one of the testing items I purchased (no free evaluation units here). From the photos, you can see I used several sheets of fairly thick binder paper (A6) and it held them well. Next, I tried several note cards (3x5) and it worked on them. These were not the thick note cards from brand name suppliers, but thinner, inexpensive card stock. It worked well. Bottom Line: Replace your metal staples for many tasks. This stapler should work on most tasks as I mostly need to bind several sheets together. A stack of paper would need something else, but this device is a great start.

Just nope....I had high hopes, and it let me down :(
I had high hopes for this staple-less no-hole stapler, but alas, it failed me. I wanted to be able to attach papers without having to punch any holes in them. Nearly all staple-less staplers make a not-insignificant hole in your paper and then push the tab through and tuck it under a fold to create a no-metal connection. However, it's punched a pretty fair sized hole to make that tab. I saw this 'crinkle' stapler and thought this was going to do the trick. The DESIGN is there...the metal dies inside this heavy stapler make a nice set of 'waffle' crinkles between pages, and if they fixed their one fatal flaw, I think this thing would be great but as mentioned...fatal flaw. The crinkles are made on the very edge of the papers. I tried pushing the stack of (no more than 5) sheets deep into the stapler as just putting it into the stapler make little waffle marks right along the paper edge...pretty much useless...but as far into the unit as I could push them made the crinkles only about 1/16th (yes, sixteenth...okay, I'll be nice...one was maybe all of 3/32) of an inch past the edge. Most of the time, the crinkles were even closer to the edge, right on the edge or missed the paper all together. They show turning the paper sideways and pushing just the corner of the stack into the stapler, but that also just didn't work. NOTE: All of the instructions are in Japanese, but Google Translate was able to show me what it said, and there was nothing there indicating I was suffering User Error here... To FIX their design, the stapler should allow the paper stack to be pushed in MUCH further, and maybe with an option to pull it back out a bit and with a clear window showing you just WHERE the dies would cut the crinkles, but at a minimum, you need to be more than ¼" past the edge to be useful. This unit just failed. I tried on quite a few sheets of paper thinking maybe it's user error, but nope...it's a design flaw in this Japanese heavy die-cutting stapler, and I really have to think they didn't do much testing or they have some different kind of paper...or maybe just two sheets (instead of my testing of 4 and 5) would allow you to truly shove them deeper into his mouth, but if I'm going to staple paper, I'd really expect to be able to do more than 2. Overall...abysmal failure, and it's sitting next to me right now ready to be shipped back.

Staple free paper organizing!
I Love it. No staples just a small crimp that you can barely see, works great for keeping my bills and stuff organized. Easy to separate with no damage to paper. I’ve used with up to 4 pages with it working perfectly, just make sure paper is all the way in and push lever completely.

Works as advertised, but very small margin for error
Works great, when you can line it up properly. The paper needs to be pushed in as far back as possible to properly crimp it, and when done right it's still only a few millimeters from the edge. I feel like the part that cramps needs to be brought forward by a few more. It also advertises that it works on up to 5 sheets but the problem is less the holding power and more the aforementioned lining up the edges to the back of the stapler. With 3-5 sheets I often end up crimping on the edge because the sheets refuse to push all the way back.

Fun, but impractical for regular use.
This staple-free stapler is definitely a neat tool for office supply fanatics, but doesn't have much real functionality. The stapler is really well built (and incredibly dense) and can definitely survive intensive use. Unfortunately, it doesn't do a great job at actually binding paper together. The stapler takes a recommended maximum of 5 sheets of paper, and trying to staple 2-3 sheets of paper together results in an incredibly loose bond. Additionally, paper can't go very far into the slot on the stapler, so the actual staple that it produces is very close to the corner or the edge of the sheet (pictured). Overall it struggles to create a bond that will survive much wear and tear. I would avoid using this stapler for anything other than temporary or personal use- you definitely can't be handing out agendas that are stapled with this device. In its defense, it is one of the few stapleless staplers that doesn't actually damage the paper. Pages can be separated easily by running a pen or a coin over the bond and there will be no holes. Overall, it is a well built device and fun to use, but impractical when put up against a real stapler.

Perfect for certain things
I had seen a mention of these once many years ago, but due to a particular filing project I need to start, I decided to go looking for one for myself and found this. I'm quite happy that I went with this particular model over the few other "stapleless staplers" on offer here. The build quality is surprisingly high, and even though parts of it are plastic, it's clear that the internal components have metal in them too, because its heft surprised me. It's not heavy, per se, but you can tell it's engineered well. 5 pages is really the max it can take, and it's much happier with 3-4. There is essentially some sort of spring mechanism inside so that you can't press too hard; it will click and you know you've successfully stamped the pieces together. Some paper types will handle this better than others. I've had a few pages tear off where crimped, but others hold together really well. On the whole, I think it is excellent for applications where you want one or two things to stick together but don't want to worry about pulling out staples later. The nice thing about this particular design, over some of the others that cut out an eyelet and loop that paper back into a slit, is that this style does allow you to easily separate sheets if you want to, but they will easily stay together if you don't ruff them up too much. I'm absolutely thrilled with this purchase.

Cute, but so very disappointing.
This is such a great idea and such a cute little thing I wanted to love it. But no. Starting with, it took 6 weeks to arrive (in their defense, I was warned, at least after I placed my order. Japan mail, I think.) After I finally got it, I found that it's limited to binding 2-3 sheets of paper. it makes a very tiny impression, maybe 1 mm wide and less than 1 cm long, so that's not much to hold the pages together. You have to insert the corners of the paper into the little mouth, and the impression is made at the very edge. And because of that small-sized binding, when you open up to read that second sheet of paper, they tend to disengage -- so you end up with, again, 2 or 3 separate sheets of paper. And my last complaint with it -- besides that it doesn't do what it was designed to do very well at all -- is that when I dropped it on my floor, a little gray piece came off. I have no idea where it came from or how to re-assemble it.

Tested the Harinacs Press Crimping Stapler
I give this crimping stapler five stars. I wanted a stapleless stapler that didn't make a hole in the sheets of paper. I bought this for carbonless copy forms. I didn't want to deal with contact cement or staples. After reading all the comments, I decided to play with this crimper in many ways including jamming it with paper. I find this crimper very solid if you pay attention when using it. The crimps are around 1/16" from the edge. Make sure the sheets of paper are stacked straight and are pushed all the way into the mouth of the crimper. If you have to jam the paper in the slot, that may be too many sheets. One pump, the sheets will pull apart easily without tearing at the edge. More than two sheets of paper may need two pumps in the same spot for a stronger crimp. With two pumps, the top sheets may tear at the crimp spot when pulled apart. Three pumps in the same stop will definitely tear at the crimp. Slowly pull apart parallel with the crimp to lessen tearing. I added a crimp at the bottom of the pages to make sure the carbonless copy sheets stayed in place. It seems four pieces of paper will slide into the crimper without a need to wedge them in. Six sheets of paper seems to be too many. It will depend on the weight of the paper. If the paper gets stuck, pump the crimper several times in hopes of a release. Remove the sheets the best you can. For stuck pieces, poke a long pin in the crimp area to dislodge what is stuck. Don't leave the pin in there. Pump again without any paper in the slot. Repeat until you can smoothly pull two sheets of paper through the mouth. I cannot speak to how it crimps cardstock or construction paper. I hope my explanations with testing helps with everyone's curiosity about this stapler. I am happy with my purchase. This crimping stapler seems solid and I hope it lasts a very long time.

Practical, compact, helpful stapleless stapler
This product is unique in Canada (meaning I have never seen it before for sale here). I was skeptical of its utility; however, after using it to attach bits of paper together that you want to keep together but don't want to have the associated bulk of a metal stapler, this worked exceptionally well. I have tried it with up to 6 sheets of approx 15 lb paper and it worked fine; despite the fact that it is only rated for 5 sheets. The device is heavy with a plastic cover with metal internals and handle. It is from Japan but made in China. The quality is very good. I use it to attach those flimsy bits of receipts together and regular 2 page statements together. The crimped paper hold is tight and creases the paper. It does not cut the paper. The depth (how deep it will go into the paper) is not a lot and maximum only about 2-3 mm but for my purposes it is GREAT.

Me encanta.
