Great Humidifier! Works great!
This is a great vaporizer/humidifier for the money. I bought it because we have electric heat in our apartment and the air gets very dry. This unit is small and easy to fill and handle. It runs for 24 hours and has an automatic shut off and night light. I mostly run it in our bedroom at night. It can also be used with the Vicks Vapo Pads or liquid. A Vapo Pad sample comes with it. Definitely a great humidifier!

Inexpensive, easy to use device for dry, itchy skin .
Perfect for my little room this past very cold winter. My skin was so dry & extremely itchy and this little device helped alleviate those issues. Inexpensive and easy to use too.

Plenty of steam.
Arrived in good condition and works great. Puts out a lot of warm steam, which is what you need when fighting a chest cold.

Works fast, but too many issues for daily use
I bought this mainly because my child had a cough. We used to use an ultrasonic humidifier, but I think it’s not very safe and you have to use distilled water, which adds extra cost. This one is much more convenient since it can use regular tap water. It starts producing steam within a few minutes, and the output is quite strong, which I liked. However, the downsides are pretty significant. The noise is very loud, especially when the water level gets low—it has actually woken us up at night. Even when I refill it, it seems like not all the water is being used, since the intake doesn’t reach the bottom, so a lot of capacity goes to waste. It also uses a lot of power—strong enough that it trips my power strip unless I dedicate a full outlet just for it. After a few days of use, I noticed gray, flaky residue at the bottom, which was concerning. Because of all these issues, I’ve stopped using it. It’s affordable, but the drawbacks make it hard to keep using.

Love this thing
My mom was coughing for what felt like months. The cold winter and hot dry house was not helping. I bought this out of desperation trying to break up the cough and get her on her way to wellness. I got the vicks liquid too. Hooked this little thing up and turned it on.....I did not notice any steam, the windows did not get condensation, I was bummed. Then on the suggestion of my mom's aide along with the confirmation of my dad we put a tiny pinch of salt in the water and it was AWESOME. Now a few things to note....the good - major steam with the salt...nothing noticeable without salt. The liquid smells good and all but completely unnecessary. Moms cough literally stopped within a week after starting this up. Her 86 year old skin is beautiful and not even a little dry. Her typically very staticy hair is not at all...frizz yes, curls (was not aware she even had curls) are also a new phenomenon The not so good. Every single day we clean and change out the water and every single day there is black gunk in the water. Makes me worry that I am sending mold into the air, but currently she is not coughing, skin integrity, and overall better feeling of a bit of moisture in the air is making us keep using it.

Mom to child, Child to Mom, Mom to Child
The standard we had growing up had a larger bason more square. Maintenance is low. With my first child on the way I selected the new cool mist. Read the pamphlet on maintenance and regarded it; it was already there. I learned much through one machine. The calcium in the water adhered to the heating element that seemed like a mixture between metal and stone. The unit was unrecoverable. It stopped working and that was the results of expectation, the calcium particles in the water somehow rendered the heating element unable to continue. the problem with owning anything is having to tend to its nature, it's requirements. when child number two came along, i ordered the tide and true, the same style mom used for the least amount of maintenance and I followed the directions for it's maintenance; the difference of a few years and the death of a machine. I still prefer to use the rub instead of the liquid, the solid rub will melt down into liquid form and does the same thing without the deciation or the added expense, but if the liquid is inexpensive and the rub precious while money isn't, then the scale tips on purchasing both if the father of my children or my child had that moment of being in the seat of decision for the future purchase, or even you dear sir or lady, may this review help you further in feeling confident in your decision on which style to purchase in humid vs mist. these machines last, likely mom's still works but unable to verify. they are also quiet and have a peaceful noise that bespeaks of wellness and being tended to.

Many chances for user error
We have fairly hard well water. I get the best results with a pinch of salt. Too much salt and the water gets VERY hot and bubbles/gurgles too much. Too little salt and not enough steam is produced. I don't know how this device works, but apparently it's more complex than it seems. Now that I know the correct "recipe" it works great. The noise level varies from fairly loud, to nothing but a faint hum, after its been running awhile. I really like the liquid reservoir on top. I do wish it was more vertical and had a smaller footprint, but for the price, I'm satisfied.

Works good but it aggravating having to clean it
This Vicks vapor warmer works really well and puts out a good amount of soothing vapor. It helps a lot with congestion and makes breathing easier at night. It heats up fast and is simple to use, and I like that it doesn’t take up much space. The only downside is cleaning it. Mineral buildup happens pretty quickly and it’s kind of aggravating to scrub out, especially in the corners. It still works fine, but you definitely have to stay on top of cleaning or it looks gross. Overall, it does what it’s supposed to do and helps when you’re sick, just wish it was easier to clean. Would still recommend it.

Love this Vaporizer
I usually have bronchitis every fall and spring and now I can add dry eyes to the list, so everything there needs moisture. I used to have a vapoizer as a kid growing up and it helped so much, so I purchased two of these. After reading the reviews I decided to buy one and try it. I had to add salt quite a few times to get it to really throw out the water, but really how much does a box of salt cost, compared to being sick. I love it so much now I have one in my bedroom. I put it on for a few hours before bed and another one in my living room where I spend a lot of time.
