Love this sweet soy sauce, makes my fried rice, lo mein etc tastes just like what I order at my favorite Thai restaurant. Gives subtle sweet flavor to dishes.

This soy sauce mixed with Hoisin sauce makes a delicious stir fry sauce that I use frequently. Sometimes I will thin it a bit adding Shaoxing wine.

I moved to the USA just over a year ago and SOOOO glad I found this! This is a pantry staple for everyone I know in Australia. Absolutely blew my mind that I couldn't find it in the supermarket here. It hurt my soul a little to pay so much for something that would have cost about $4 (AU) back home! But worth the markup to have it here. For those who haven't had this before - it's nothing like soy sauce. It's thick and sweet and oh so good! It works on rice, dip your spring rolls (or egg rolls), use it as a stir-fry sauce, marinade... seriously anything, it's so good. There are a few reviews about broken bottles, but it must really be handled without care because the bottle is a fairly sturdy plastic. If you're on the fence, roll the dice. It'll be worth it. Be warned though, if you buy it once, you may feel the need to keep buying it :D

Oh man, this sauce is wonderful! It definitely is not just another soy sauce. Don't get me wrong, I use regular Chinese and Japanese style soy sauces all the time. But this sweet soy sauce is altogether a different thing. Indonesians call is Kecap Manis. I discovered Kecap Manis quite be accident. I like to serve an Indonesian-styled Rijsttafel (google that word or check it out at Wikipedia) using leftover turkey bits and pieces the days after Thanksgiving. I made a turkey curry for the Rijsttafel which calls for a bunch of side dishes, such as chutneys and whatnot.. Now, I have made a turkey curry Rijsttafel right after Thanksgiving for years and years. This year, after seeing some suggestions at the Rijsttafel site at Wikipedia, I ordered this Indonesian Kecap Manis (sweet soy sauce) not knowing what I would end up with. It was a culinary 'science experiment' and it worked out well. My guests loved it. You can make Kecap Manis at home if you wish as there is a recipe on line. But why bother, as this Kecap Manis is wonderful. Kecap Manis contains soy and is spiced with leaves from the curry tree ... NOT the spice we all know as 'curry'. The curry tree is a member of the citrus family, but seems to have an unexpected anise like favor for those of use who grew up with lemons and oranges and such. Go for it. Have a nice unique experience. Get this Kecap Manis.
