I've been working on Porsches for the better part of 15 years and I was pleasantly surprised to find the correct part on Amazon where other parts retailers LOVE to put the Porsche markup on Bosch parts. This was for a friend's 1983 944 with MOTRONIC. FYI, this pump should work on most MOTRONIC cars so it's a real easy replacement. Bookmarked for my next project.

Incorrect pump for 3.2l 1986 911 Porsche
Careful if for a 1986 911 3.2l !! Then pump uses more than the 10amperes allowed by the DME relay. So in time the relay is rendered useless.

Comes with the fuel pump check valve
Bosch. Original new. Works great. Came with the check valve. Wish I had known as I bought that separately. Direct fit replacement. BETTER check your suction hose to the gas tank to make sure not brittle or cracked. If it is the original, replace it or you will be doing it in no time. Get a fuel filter since it is right next to it and do both at the same time.

Didn’t work for 86 944 Turbo
Unfortunately didn’t work for my 86 944 Turbo. Amazon listed this as a fit for my 951. It “fits” but unfortunately after installing it, the car developed a warm start issue. It would work most of the time but wouldn’t hold pressure. Not sure if it was the check valve on the pump or what but after installing this Bosch 69467 pump https://a.co/d/0gZYENpF the car ran fine. Spent a lot of timing chasing other issues but it was the pump all along. Might work for fine for 944 NA’s but not my 944 turbo.

Dead after two years.
I installed this on a 1983 944, a car I only drive a few times a year. It died on the highway after two years and less than 1,500 km use.

Installed this pump on my '84 911 and it is an exact replacement. I measured the running current draw at only 3.8 amps. - well within spec.
