I bought one of these for my iPhone 8 well over a year ago, here is a honest review of my experience, and why I chose to buy another one. I have never really tested the waterproof feature of this case, I like it because of its protection and durability. At first I thought it was kind of pain because of the screws, but ultimately wasn’t bothered by them long term. My first case I did mod slightly because people said my voice was muffled, so I removed the filters inside the case where the speakers are at the bottom. After that I never had that issue again. After about 3-4 months the tab that keeps the charging port covered broke off, Long term not a deal breaker for me. After maybe 7-9 months I lost the plastic that covers the fingerprint scanner, not a deal breaker for me. I did have issues once in a while if moisture wicked in through the button, but it gave me an excuse to take the phone out and inspect it, clean it etc. After about a year the paint started to rub off and expose the aluminum, not a big deal. The reason I give this case a 5 star is for the following reason: I had an otter box defender and my phone was thrown on the ground by someone, my my phone broke, and turned into a horseshoe inside but the case was ok, go figure. After that I decided to try this case, during the 1.5 years I had it my phone was on job sites where it was dropped, a lot, hit rocks, concrete, etc. my phone was also thrown very hard straight down by someone again into a porcelain tile floor. This case cracked, but my phone was perfectly fine. The case even damaged, also because I’m cheap, continued to protect my phone for another half a year no issues. After which I decided to replace it, only because the screen protector had hazed due to constant contact with dirt in my pockets from work, and excessive use. After purchasing this new case, I do not have the same issue with the voice microphone it works perfectly. Looking forward to another year and a half of my phone being utterly abused without cracking, scratching, or breaking. The only warning is that I realized with the first case: super bulky, cheap, fat tipped charging plugs don’t fit well and need to be firmly inserted to charge. Your standard tip plugs with the same/similar size as the apple factory ones work just fine.

If you are one of those people who drops your phone on a regular basis, this is the case for you. It's super durable and can take just about any phone fumble (except for maybe a screen down hit on the corner of a brick). It's metal and not plastic, so it feels solid. It also has a rubber gasket that adds about .25" of protection to the edges of the phone. The cover for both the screen and camera are very strong but do not impair the use of the touch screen or the quality of your pictures. Instead of snapping together, it is held together with 6 small screws. You get extras and a tool for removing or replacing them. As they are small, you'll need some patience with them. Because it is tightly sealed, the buttons work perfectly for the one I got for my iPhone 14 Pro. The power port has a cover that opens easily and is attached so you won't lose it. There is plenty of room to reach the port, so you won't have to struggle to plug in your charger. Overall, this is an excellent case for your phone. The quality is top notch, and it is a great value at around $30. It's supposedly waterproof, but I prefer not to test out that capability and hopefully not need it. The only issues someone might have with the case is that it is heavy and large. My case with the phone in it weighs 11.3 Oz so it adds a quarter pound to the weight of a naked 14 Pro at 7.3 Oz. This means you're carrying 3/4 of pound around with you and you will notice it, too. Also, it makes the phone larger because of the rubber gasket. Without a case an iPhone 14 is about 5.8" by 2.8". With this case it will be 6.25" by 3.5". That's almost 35% larger than the naked phone. What you gain in durability you also gain in size and weight, so it's a tradeoff you'll have to make. If you are willing trade bulk and weight for durability, I think you won't be disappointed.

I only took off one star because the plastic cover seems to make my phone a wee bit less sensitive to touch. That's all. I try to keep my phones as long as possible. I like pretty things, but when it comes to a phone I've paid a lot for, I want something sturdy and protective-- cute designs be darned. I also look for the brightest colors because there is nothing worse than trying to find a phone that is camouflaged in its hiding spot. My Otter finally disinegrated after a few years and I needed something that fit my requirements and wasn't super duper expensive. Here we are. I've already dropped this a few times because I'm a klutz. I've even managed to get it quite wet. No damage to my phone. I have a little farm and I'm out in rain, mud, running through creeks, woods and rocky terrain. I even have a goat that is a pick-pocket and I'm not worried about my phone. It has been surviving mishaps like a champ and I can find my phone pretty quick because of the bright yellow that I was able to get. The case will make your phone a tad bulkier and give it weight. I like it but others may not. The push through button that controls the ring silencer is easily triggered accidentally. I just put a tiny piece of black Gorilla tape on the back to keep prevent it being turned off... even though I liked having an excuse for not hearing and answering my phone, ha ha. If you like switching your phone cases out, you'll have to unscrew this to do it so it won't be as convenient in that regard. Personally, I really like this case and recommend it if you're a regular phone dropper like me or have to have your phone in harsher conditions. It does its job.

The quality of this case is great, even better than expected, while not used to having to secure the case with screws it added to the sturdiness and was easy to install

I'll start off by saying I travel for work to tropical destinations and I've owned and used a few iphone waterproof cases in the last couple years for snorkeling so this definitely isn't my first attempt at capturing videos and photos underwater with my phone. However, this case just turned out to be unreliable for me and I decided not to take it on my snorkel trip. First appearance out of the box was good. Looked sturdy and perfectly fit my iphone 14 pro max to a T. It's the first time I have seen a case utilize screw mounts to tighten the edges of a case. So basically the front and back pieces are supposed to grip a middle rubber caddy (that the phone sits in). This is where my issues arose. First wanted to test in a pool on location, so I put on the case but was wary as the screws didn't seem to grip firmly enough to feel secure. I put the phone in the pool and sure enough, water leaked through. Not a big deal, figured i had found the issue just needed to get the screws tighter. When I get out of the water and assessed the screws i found that not only could i not screw them tighter (I'm assuming the screw holes weren't fully fitted) I also, couldn't unscrew them. The case was tight enough to not get off but loose enough to not use underwater. This was extremely annoying. After a couple hours of trial and error I had to not only pry my case off but break it entirely just to free my phone. Luckily my friend had a spare gopro i used for the snorkel. I bet my phone would have gotten better pictures but just couldn't risk using this case. I will not be buying from this company again.

Ok, here it is......this thing is built like a tank. Paint scratches a little easy. It says it is waterproof and looks like it could be. The thing is, in order for something to be water tight, it must cover all holes right. So, you can't have it both ways.......water tight and the best sound. So what I did was I decided to cut off the screen protector causing my sound issues and value the product for the rest of the build. Only you can decide which way to go with that. However, the think is built like a tank either way and that is why I recommend this product. 2 Month update.......I ended up throwing this in the trash as much as I hated to because at face value, I loved the protection it gave my phone. Metal case with rubber on outside for impact and supposably waterproof(I never tested because I didn't want to take the chance), but I believe it would be to at least some point. So as I stated above, I removed my screen protector and went with the glass protector which automatically takes away most water protection. But I loved the tank like case. However, then people said they had trouble hearing me and how much better I sounded on my headset. Knowing that is usually the opposite, I researched where the mics are located on an Iphone 8. Come to find out, the mics are along with the speakers at the bottom. When you look at the case, not only is there some type of foil covers, it has to go through little holes in thick rubber. I removed my phone and put in an Otterbox and did not have any sound issues because the holes are open. So, my suggestion is to not get this case as much as I hate making the recommendation. I reduced my score down to 3 stars because I think they did a good job on producing it. Unfortunately, it just doesn't work out on the phone like most would hope.

Great case. Heavy duty construction. Screen cover is clear and functional. The sound on/off button seemed a little wonky on the first couple attempts, but after adjusting a few times and tightening the case down it has worked flawlessly ever since. The case definitely makes the iphone more bully snd heavier, but I really don’t mind. The extra ruggedness is well worth the tradeoff. The rubber cover on the bottom to protect the charging port seems like the weak point, seems like it’s not attached well and feels like it may come apart prematurely. It’s ok so far, so only time will tell. Installation was easy, was glad the little tools were included. Very satisfied with the case.

UPDATE from March of 2023: I STILL love this case. Finally had to get a new one because I got a new phone! lol I have run these over with my skid steer more than once....and they held. I have dropped them off a running horse at 25mph....and they held. The paint wears off a bit, but hey....I am absolutely sending them through cell phone hell, and they have survived! I have one for my personal phone, and one for my work phone. I eventually destroy the sound button (plastic and breaks off with repeated use over a year+) or I rip the charger port cover off. Doesn't matter - still doesn't wreck the phone and for $25 I can get a new case. 100% worth it to me. I have destroyed every plastic case on the market and wrecked phones even inside those cases. These things are AWESOME. ---------- I BEAT on phones....seriously. I ride horses, and my phones go through hell. Since buying this case I have dropped it on concrete at least 7 times, slammed it in a door once, and splashed it with water a couple more. Oh....I also sat on it about 22 times by accident after stuffing it in my back pocket. Still ticking. The paint is wearing off the front edges of the metal just a bit....which doesn't bother me, I didn't buy it to look pretty. It is doing EXACTLY what I purchased it for, and it's been at least 6 months! I destroyed 2 Lifeproof cases in 2 years....this thing appears much more robust. Note, speaker works great, when I talk on it up to my ear I ALWAYS hit buttons because of the angle I have to hold it at. This rarely bothers me since I use a headset 99% of the time. While the newer iPhones are designed to handle water...the dust and debris I put mine through makes this case a great investment. To tell you how hard I am on phones, the motherboard detached on my last one. Apple was a combination of impressed and confused as to exactly how I managed it with no external damage. This case seems to be doing the trick of both protecting and cushioning from multiple impacts. I appreciate the bright yellow color - makes it easier to find it in construction sites and barns.

Secure and rugged cover

This is good, but for the price, I was expecting more protection on the screen and the back, cameras have just a plastic shield, and on the screen, you can add a glass screen; however, you can not add strong protection on the back camera.
