We Love Tiki Cat In This House Of Four Felines
Yes- this cat food is pricey. Itโs also โgourmetโ. You donโt always get what you pay for in quality with pet foods. Sometimes the most expensive foods are comprised of the same basic ingredients as much more affordable brands. They often look, smell, and (yes) taste the same. But Tiki Cat stands apart for an array of reasons. This company is obviously dedicated to providing the highest quality food for your pet and it shows through before you even open the can. Most other cat foods are comprised of a lot of animal by-products, โadditional flavorsโ, and grain fillers. Tiki Catโs food is NOT. This food is made of wholesome ingredients. No matter which flavor youโre choosing to feed your cat when you look at the ingredients list the major components of the food are actual, real, meat and fish. And actual- real meat and fish is the healthiest thing you can feed your carnivorous felines. Once you open the can the quality is exactly as youโd expect. If you open the can of tuna it isnโt a lump of discolored pink stuff. Itโs actual flakey tuna. Sardines have sardines in them. Lobster clearly has little bits of lobster. And chicken is tender, small, chicken bits ideal for even the pickiest of cats. There is no thick โgravyโ with this food (mostly comprised of some form of grain). Instead the cans are filled with just a little bit of water, natural oils from the meat, and a little bit of fat, that helps create an aux natural gravy to go with each food item. The cans of food actually SMELL like food. The chicken smells like chicken. The shrimp smells like shrimp. Thereโs no question of the ingredients inside, because each can actually smells like what itโs supposed to. But what about the taste? The most important thing is the taste! I have four cats. Magpie, my 17-year-old old lady is the pickiest eater. With that being said her ALL TIME favorite food is Tiki Catโs Mackerel and Sardine In Calamari Consommรฉ. I wish I could find a set of JUST that specific food on Amazon, because itโs one food that sheโll actually sit and finish the entire can of. As for my other three cats, Minnie Mag, Toby, and Ozzy- none of them are too picky, but theyโre never super excited about any food I give themโฆ unless itโs Tiki Cat. No matter what flavor of this amazing food that I offer, theyโll sit eagerly and munch up their entire serving. That doesnโt happen with any other brand of food I offer my felines. I have no clue how anyone can rate this food under 5 stars. If you want to feed your cat a natural, wholesome, quality canned food diet- Tiki Cat is one of my top choices. I do supplement this food with other food (Diamond dry cat food, and canned chicken, turkey, duck, and beef). But this food has proven to be great time and time again. My pets love it and itโs made with whole ingredients that are very healthy for them. They are a bit pricey- but they make a great โspecial mealโ once or twice a week. And theyโre so yummy that Iโm sure my cats would give them 2 paws up if they could.

Kitty yum yum!
My two cats tried the first of 12 cans tonight (Tuna in Crab Surimi Consomme), and you could really tell they had gotten something special! They are used to various high quality foods, but I have been looking for something they could really love and I think I have found it! Fluffy actually finished his dish and then began licking the can, something I have never seen him do before! This variety pack has 12 cans with 9 different flavors. All of them are formulated to meet the nutritional levels established by the AAFCO Cat Food Nutrient Profiles for all life stages, with the exception of three flavors which state on the can, "...is supplementary, to be fed with a complete and balanced diet." They are all grain-free with the exception of three flavors (which contain brown rice), and these cans state, "Low Grain, only 5% Rice". I would prefer to find a canned food that has NO grains ever, but that has proven to be a difficult task. They all have vegetable gums (locust bean, carrageenan, and guar), but I don't think this is a deal-breaker. Overall, I am very happy with this cat food, and so are my cats! I love the fact that the company cares about eco-friendly manufacturing practices...even the tuna flavors are dolphin-safe! I also love that you can actually tell what you're looking at when you open the can. Instead of the gloppy mess I usually see with other cat foods, I could actually identify the contents of the can I opened tonight. Clearly visible were shreds of tuna and little pieces of crab. Yes, this food is a bit pricey, but I think it's worth it, and I will definitely be ordering more. UPDATE: I fed my cats the second can this morning (Sardine Cutlets),and they loved it even more than the first! When I went into the kitchen this morning to put on the coffee they were actually peering in the glass door with an expectant look on their faces! Again, I highly recommend this food!

Good Wholesome Food but Pack Needs Better Variety
This is great food for your cats because it is a whole food with no artificial ingredients, additives or grains of any kind. Buying a variety pack gives your pet a way to not have to eat the same flavor all the time and is also a good way to test which flavors they like most. It really is 5 star food but the reason I only gave it 4 stars is that I wish that instead of doubling up on some of the flavors, they would include 12 different varieties so my cat could try more of what they offer. Especially since there are a couple of flavors he won't eat at all so those cans are wasted as far as I'm concerned. I know this is the fish variety pack and since my cat likes fish best I tried this one first. They do make other non-fish and poultry/meat/fish blends but that variety pack, the Queen Emma. is quite a bit more expensive. Unfortunately he would not eat any of the flavors with sardines or mackeral and from many of the other reviews it looks like those flavors are the least popular. He liked most of the tuna and tuna blends. Since it's pure fish with no additives, he doesn't eat as much at one time as with other foods so each little can was 2 feedings for him. That made it more cost effective. My cat has a beautiful shiny coat, doesn't shed and is very playful and active and seems like a happy guy. I firmly believe being well fed (and treated like the King of the Castle) is the reason. A combination of Tiki Cat and Orijen dry food is his diet and it seems to work well for him.

Food you can recognize
Growing up my cats were raised on grocery store pet food that, upon opening a can, was unrecognizable as food. It just looked like a oozing brown sponge of muck. And it would come with the most horrendous smell that seemed closer to manure than food. Tiki Cat is nothing like that. When I open the can I both recognize the fishy parts and it smells like seafood. There's also plenty of gravy, which my cats lap up. Even though I've mainly switched them to a raw food diet, there's always the once in awhile morning or evening where the raw food hasn't thawed yet or some other mishap. It's good to have quality canned cat food my cats love as a back up. The first ingredient is water. The second is fish, which is good for pet food. They're always ordered by the largest quantity first. It always amazes me when I pick up cat food that doesn't have meat listed first or second. Cats are carnivores! Meat should be the largest percentage of their diet, not grain. I love this pack has a ton of different varieties of fish, not just tuna or salmon, so that my cats get more diversity and nutrients in their diet.

they are excellent. So far the Hana Luau was received very ...
Let me begin by saying that I have 13 cats, so I write my reviews in consideration of what the majority of them are willing to eat with some enthusiasm, realizing that there will always be a few that have different opinions from day to day. As I stated in my review of the sardine flavors, they are excellent and have their own review. So far the Hana Luau was received very well the first day, and has been eaten relatively well if not given too often. It may be very rich. I have not tried all the flavors yet in the sample pack, but the other flavors I have tried have been eaten, mostly ahi tuna flavors, but not as enthusiastically by everyone as the sardines, nor as enthusiastically as the Hana Luau the very first day. However, so far at least, it is all eventually eaten and I don't have to throw any away, which I must do with other brands of cat food!! I have ordered some chicken Puka Puka, which tho pricey, is not fish, since I would like a non-fish food as well. I gave it 3 stars since I have not tried all the flavors yet, and since so far, the sardine flavors are the most popular, and I gave them 5 stars in my review of them. I am pleased by the quality. UPDATE: Altho my cats loved the Hana Luau when they first ate it, gobbled it up with gusto, (So, I bought a case of 8, 6 oz cans), the next time, they didn't really want to eat it. I thought perhaps it was too rich and should be given to them only infrequently. I now have 2, 6 oz cans left and will not get this again, since the first time was the only time they seemed that enthusiastic. Of course it is possible that they felt nauseous after eating it, but I have no way of knowing that. No one actually vomited. And I do have cats vomit their Fancy Feast and Friskies at times. Yes, the Hana Luau does have a very strong, fishy smell. Yes, as some other reviewers have noted, all the tuna flavors are a rather unpleasant, dark reddish, (purpleish) color and are a sort of mushy consistency, which is not appealing at least to my human eyes. I have ordered more of the sardine flavors, both the Tahitian Grill and the Bora Bora, they look far more appetizing, and are eaten with more enthusiasm. However, my cats do not want the sardines as a steady diet and seem to prefer them occasionally as more of a treat. Sometimes they leave some chunks of the fish, depending on the particular cat. The Puka Puka chicken flavor is a lovely, light, clean looking food, which really does look like people food. So far I have only opened one can and that was received well. I just bought a case of the 6 oz Mackeral and sardines which has not arrived yet. the first can that came in the sample pack was devoured with enthusiasm. I now know I should not expect that reaction next time, since it seems to be the novelty of these sardine foods which causes so much enthusiasm the first time. I have begun feeding the old standby Friskies and Fancy Feast flavors again. I bought the Tiki Cat flavors because my cats were rejecting their Fancy Feast flavors, trying to bury them or running away from them. Now they are eating them again, as well as my cat that was recently diagnosed with pancreatitis!! I asked my vet, who was totally unfamiliar with Tiki Cat food, and she said yes, it was ok for my cat to eat the fish flavors with her condition. My cat with pancreatitis is the main reason I bought the Tiki Cat food in the first place, since she was not eating at all, and she DID eat some of the sardines and liked the aspic very much. That was an enormous relief. Now she is eating her Fancy Feast again. It seems to me that that food varies from batch to batch. Some of my cats' preferences, I suppose, can be due to the fact that "variety is the spice of life. I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of the mackeral and sardines today, since I am getting the 6 oz cans, and I hope it will be received with some enthusiasm by them. IF ONLY THEY COULD SPEAK!!! Our job would be so much easier!! The Puka Puka chicken is beautiful and white and clean and a refreshing change from the dark reddish, purplish tuna mush. Soooo, in summary, Puka Puka lovely looking, sardines appetizing looking in a nice aspic, and all the other flavors resemble each other, and are the dark reddish, purplish mushy consistency and resemble each other. I will feed the remaining sample cans in the case now and then, I have 4 untried flavors left. Mine were well packaged.

Cats love it.
I had been looking for (as natural) type of cat food as possible for my two cats. I found this and they absolutely love it. Between the tiki pet food and the evo innova, my older cat is not as grouchy, his fur looks even shinier and he actually sort of plays...well for him in any case. They loved the sardines. They loved all the cans. They will sit at their bowls and meow at me...wanting the canned food (they get the canned food twice a week.) I got my mom and sister to try their cats on it, and they also love this cat food. The food has chunks of fish in it and thin strips of different veggies. Your cat really will love this food. As close to what they would get in nature as most indoor cats are going to get. I have been thinking about switching the cats to wet food and delete the dry food altogether. I am not sure how much wet food they would get in one day. Seems to me that would be the proper diet, seeing as they are meat eaters in nature, with some grass thrown in every once in awhile. In any case, this cat food is really great. I will continue to purchase this for my cats.

Cat hated this food
This has been the worst cat food I have ever bought for my cat.I have a 5 year old cat that absolutely loves the seafood style can and pouch cat foods. I bought this one thinking it would be something special and a treat for her. It was a brand she had never had before. She absolutely hated the food. She would nibble at the Ahi Tuna flavors but would not touch the sardine ones. When I opened the can of sardine food it absolutely reeked. The smell of the food was so bad. My cat would sniff the food and immediately turn away. The pieces of sardine in the food was not small pieces or little chunks. They were nice size pieces of fish and larger than I would prefer she try to eat. This is definitely one cat food I will never buy again for her. I will stick with Fancy Feast, Meow Mix, Friskies and Purina because I know those she loves.

Tiki Cat 9-Flavor
Great product, great assortment. The cat is quite fond of Tiki Cat and of course, as cat's are wont to do, she has a favorite. So now I'm ordering Sweet Kitty's top 3 Tiki Cat cans. I ordered these to try out all the flavors. They were all a hit the first few rounds, except for the yellow can. Oh, the dreaded YC. A little back story: Sweet Kitty was a starved barn cat that adopted us. She's developed a gourmet palate (or she likes to think so) since coming here about 6 months ago. She really eats anything, but has her preferences. Until we reached the YC, it was then we learned the limits of Sweet Kitty's eat anything motto. Another starved kitty has begun dining at my house every morning. YC was given to him. He ate them, finally, after a long time, he's as big as a raccoon and just fur and bones. He doesn't have a discerning palate. Since this is a combo prepack, I don't think anything can be done about YC. I loved this pack because we tried all the flavors and found the best picks. BTW, I also really enjoy buying from Petropics Gourmet Whole Foods. They pack well and ship quickly. They also charge freight by the box, not by the pack, which I really, really appreciate.

Small but cats liked it
The quality is great with this company my cat s loved their seafood products but one of them end up growing allergic to it their quail and egg treats are good all the products used real high quality meat. If you get the one with quail eggs they use real quail eggs and cut it in half.

True, high quality catfood.
This food is on another level than other brands. It's common to see whole chunks of fish, all properly shredded and de-boned. Very good moisture content in the mix as well. My cat is late-adulthood, and this food was a big factor in terms of energy and diet variety. Very easy for feline digestion as well, which is important for older cats. IMPORTANT NOTE: Given this food is not typical crude protein found in most brands, you should consider properly transitioning your cat to the new diet if you are introducing them to the Tiki cat brand. Mix it in gradually with existing diet over the course of a week (days with 25%, 50%, 75% mix, for example) for a proper, healthy transition.

Variety Flavours, Real food ingredients.
Switch up my cat meal with this. Skeptical since she never had Tiki's brand. I gave her a sniff test and she was all over it. Licked the plat clean, falling asleep right after. Absolutely recommended.

Fantastic food but came delivered with cans smashed on one side
Cans were smashed when they arrived and as you all know, dented cans have microscopic holes in them from the damage, making the food no longer fresh and most of the time even poisonous. Looks like this item doesn't allow for a return, so I guess I will waist my money and throw it out.

Expensive, but great quality
I opened the first can last night - "sardine cutlets" - and it was human quality from the look and aroma. The food was quickly enjoyed, but the price is too high for someone with five cats. I bought the carton of 12 cans as a treat for them and I would recommend this brand for that purpose. All the cans are seafood, so I must limit one of my cats prone to crystals, as one should with males anyway. The remaining cans are tuna on rice with prawns, tuna in crab surimi consomme, tuna on rice with calamari, tuna on rice with tilapia, mackerel & sardine in calamari consomme, sardine cutlets in lobster consomme and ahi tuna. You get two cans of each. Wow, huh?
