MAXXUS Multigym | Gym-Quality Home Multi Gym with Smith Machine for Full Body Strength Training

 I purchase the MAXXUS multigym 10.1 to replace my old multigym which I had for 12 years. The 10.1 machine arrived just over 3 weeks ago and would like to say I have fully tested all its functionality before writing this review. However, the machine I received is defective and decided not to use it risking any further damage to the machine or my safety. I have raised this issue with the seller and hopefully, the can provide a solution very soon. I will further update on the function of the machine on Amazon and my social media page [web link address removed]?. In the meanwhile, this is the review of the machine so far.Just in case you're wondering what the issue is with the machine I received - The hook on the left-hand side of the barbell does not sit on the safety pins compared to the right-hand side, therefore, the traction cable/pulley is supporting the weight which would cause greater wear and tear on the left-hand side of the machine. I have disassembled, reassembled, adjusted the traction cable length as the seller advised but this has not solved the issue so far. I do believe the issue I am having with the machine is a one-off and not inherent to the machine.To take into consideration when buying this machine – The machine itself is compact but with the bench assembled and to workout comfortably and to load weight discs on the machine a floor space of 3m (left to right) and 3.5m (front to back) is required. The machine is delivered to the curbside only, the delivery men will not take it inside the house/flat or even closer to the property, which for some it may put off purchasing. However, the individual parts can easily be transported into the property. Took a friend and me, less than an hour to move parts inside. The bench is delivered in a cardboard box and can be lifted by two men. The 10.1 machine comes in a large wooden box, still fairly heavy when parts inside are removed. Luckily for me, I had access to a transit van to dispose of the wooden box at my local recycling plant. In hindsight, I wished I kept all the packaging including the wooden box just in case further faults develop with the machine and I was frustrated to return it for Amazon money back guarantee.What I like about the machine – Compared to my old multigym the 10.1 is well built with solid robust parts. Each piece nicely connects to one another with nuts and bolts (Not the cheap nut and bolts). The machine looks good and feels as if it's built to last. Each part arrived individually wrapped in bubble wrap showing the seller takes pride and care in their product. The instruction manual, paper copy provided with the machine was in German, however, the seller did email me an English version when I first placed the order of the machine. The instructions are easy to read and to follow making it easy to assemble the machine. The fixing nuts, bolts, washers, etc arrived vacuum packed to a piece of cardboard with each part numbered to the corresponding assembling instruction. Assembling the machine is a two-man job and took 3-4 hours.What I do not like about the machine – Obviously in my case it’s the barbell hook not sitting correctly on the safety pins and having to spend time chasing up the seller for an update on the progress they are making in finding a solution. The other thing I do not like is the bench! I wish the seller had more specific details on the bench and an option to buy without the bench. I do not like the bench because unlike the 10.1 machine itself the bench is not very well thought through, it is heavy and very difficult to maneuver, even with the wheels it has. It is made more difficult to move as it does not have an inbuilt handle, you are always trying to find a place to grip the bench and moving it is a lower back, forearm and bicep workout itself, leaving you exhausted. Adjusting the bench is not as straight forward as other benches available on the market. For me, the bench will go inside a cardboard box either gathering dust in the corner of the room as I spend the time trying to sell it on or even dispose of it.Overall a good looking machine and I am keen to try it out. Is it worth the money? Can only answer that when I tried it out fully!!! But the bench needs to go!
