Electric Coffee Percolator, FCP240, Stainless Steel Basket, Automatic Keep Warm, No-Drip Spout, 4 Cup, Black/Silver

I have had this same unit (and its "big brother") for at least five years and absolutely LOVE IT! So, when a family member requested a coffee percolator for Xmas, THIS is what I chose for them... I love it for several reasons. First, and most important, it makes wonderful, VERY hot coffee. Because it makes such hot coffee, the taste of even a "so-so" brand is significantly improved, and the taste of a great coffee becomes OUTSTANDING! (You cannot get the high brewing temperatures from an automatic drip coffee maker, thus making this percolator far superior to all of them, even though it lacks a few "handy features" like an automatic timer) Second, it is reliable. As noted above, we've had this model for at least five years and have never had a single problem with it... It works as designed every time! Third, it is fast! It takes less than five minutes from start to finish to have a full pot of steaming hot coffee ready to drink. Fourth, No waste! It makes one large mug and one regular mug of coffee for each full pot (or four small cups)... So, say goodbye to wasted coffee! With the price of coffee, wasting it is almost a crime... (We have its "big brother" for when we have company and that one makes four large mugs or 8 small cups) Fifth, it is EASY and very simple to use. There's nothing complicated about it, in fact, a 6 year old can easily do it for you if you let them. Sixth, it is easy to clean. All the parts except for the body of it can go into the dishwasher or be washed in hot, soapy dishwater. I recommend scrubbing it thoroughly at least once a week to keep the stains away as it is always easier to keep them at bay than to get rid of them once they appear. If one is fairly lazy and doesn't want to do more than just rinse it out daily, then you can run vinegar through a cycle once a week to keep it shiny too... The only downside that I can think of are that it does not have an automatic timer, but it's so fast, who cares? To be even faster, it can be prepared at night and simply plugged in when you get up. It is fairly small, which is perfect for two good sized cups or 4 small ones, but if you want more than that, you have to refill it or simply buy a larger pot instead or in addition. That's why we have two sizes. Normally, the small pot is just perfect for us. But several times a year, we have overnight guests (or dinner guests) and need more coffee. We'd normally only buy the larger one, BUT the larger sized percolators really are NOT good at making small pots of coffee~! I'm guessing it is because of the inaccuracy of water to coffee ratio not being "just right" when trying to use a large model to a small model's job. Bottom line: this small model works perfectly, is just the right amount, and is well worth the purchase price for those couples who each just want one, fairly large, great cup of coffee each every morning or for the single person who wants two big cups every morning...

This is an amazing, little percolator! Prep time is minimal, no plastic touches your coffee, coffee is quickly perked! We ordered the flat, natural filters, and no grounds are in your extra hot coffee. Highly recommend.

I’ve used this percolator daily for a month. It works perfectly - does one thing, and does it well. The quality is obvious as soon as the box is opened; strong stainless steel, not the mysterious metal or too-thin, seamed stainless so often found in small electronics. The brewing basket with its top and stem, as well as the percolator’s body and lid are all stainless steel; no plastic touches the coffee. Big selling point for me! I initially missed the traditional transparent knob atop the lid to display the perking coffee’s color. However, aside from not needing to judge brew strength - this boils for a preset time (IMO just the right time) - few electric or stovetop percolators today use glass knobs. So that potential plastic exposure is absent here. The lid fits securely but easily lifts off. Its plastic knob and curved pot handle are well balanced and stay cool during use. No bells or whistles: once you plug the unit into an outlet it heats up, goes through its percolating cycle, then stops boiling but keeps the coffee hot until it’s unplugged. No on/off switch. This is exactly what I want from a coffeemaker - no choices to confuse me early in the morning when I need caffeine! The plug detaches from the base but I usually leave it attached. The cord is relatively short for safety reasons. The only caveat with electric percolators: they can’t be immersed in water so must be hand-washed, although the inner parts are dishwasher-safe. I love perked coffee for its flavor and high temperature, unmatched by any other method. This percolator is dramatically faster than a stovetop unit, and foolproof.

This pot makes excellent coffee in about 5 minutes. The coffee is very hot & delicious. The size is perfect. It’s an attractive pot & is easy to clean. I make 4 cups and it fills my big mug. The only drawback is the placement of the plug under the end of the handle. The plug doesn’t seem to go all the way in. I’m not sure if it’s just my pot or if this is an issue with the design. Due to the issue with the plug I can only give it 4 stars!

I just got this percolator for Mother's Day and since I am the only person in my household who drinks coffee it is the perfect size for me. So every morning I drink one mug which is equal to two measured cups. So I filled the coffee pot with three measured cups of water just to be on the safe side. It perked really fast, a lot faster than my single cup drip machine. Boy was it hot!!! I used two level tablespoons of coffee to each cup of water so i put 4 and a half tablespoons of grounds. I used Maxwell House Half Caff Medium coffee. The lid is super tight but it has to be, otherwise coffee would flow out the top and cause havoc. Been there done that with other coffee pots back in the day. The tight lid is a PITA to remove but not the end of the world. The one complaint I have is I do not like that the pot goes into "keep warm" mode which means electricity is still flowing through the plug when you pull it out of the socket. . They need to redesign this pot with a manual shut off button if at all possible because yanking out a cord that has juice flowing through could be a potential zapping problem. It was easy to clean just make sure it is cool to the touch because this pot stays super hot for hours even unplugged. I like my coffee just a tad on the strong side so tomorrow I will use slightly heaping tablespoons instead of level. I loved that after I was finished drinking my morning coffee there was about 1/4 cup left to top off and my mug giving me just an extra sip to start my day. Perfect! I did not need a filter. The basket holes were small enough that I had literally almost no grounds at the bottom. You do not need to buy coarse ground coffee either, but finly ground coffee may be a problem so I would avoid fine ground. If you do prefer a filter. I would suggest one of those round ones with the hole in the center. I would recommend this little gem and hopefully I eill get many years out of it. I will come back and edit this review if I come across any problems. Farberware has always been a trusted name for quality so we will see. Enjoy your cuppa!

A really magnificent coffee maker - heats and perks fast and the "stay warm" feature actually keeps coffee hot, not just warm like the drip coffee makers. If you are are single and live alone like me, this is the shot. Makes Just the right amount 4 cups (or about three 10 ounce mugs). No waste! Just put in two level tablespoons of your favorite blend, and it makes the best coffee. Nothing tastes as good and rich as perked coffee. Nothing. I've had so many of the pod makers, and none of them come close in my opinion. And it's really well made into the bargain. Go ahead. Treat yourself!

Very nice. Works well. Pours well. Great for few cups of coffee and keeps it hot.

I enjoyed using it and the flavor of the coffee. I think it's a good machine, but I killed it accidentally by leaving it on while dry. It never turned back on afterwards. If it has some sort of internal sensor or time management built-in, it didn't work. My fault for leaving it on and breaking it. It's a good product. It'd use a socket timer tool/device if I bought this again and set it to 5 minutes to make sure it turns off on its own. 4 Stars!

El producto es perfecto, tamaño, calidad, et cetera. La persona que lo entrego no tiene consciencia. Tiraron la caja encima del pared de 4 metros al patio. No tocaron el timbre, aunque hay noticia en la puerta "por favor, toque el timbre". Estuve en casa con puertas y ventanas abiertas. Me alegra que la decision tirar la caja no rompio la cosa a dentro.

Difficulty removing the lid of the pot. There was no on and off switch on product and no indication with a light telling you the product was on or off unless you went to the main switch. The product was more like tin than stainless steel and had a very weak plastic handle. The product came with an American electrical connection and not a British connection with plug. This was not in the advert of the product. The product would not work with a British electrical connection that we had to buy and so would not heat up the water in the percolator which looked more like a tin kettle. We have to pay postal costs to send this product back to America which was also not in the advert of the product. Altogether a terrible purchase and a waste of one's time.

This is a nice-looking little percolator, but I didn't know when I bought it that it comes from the US with an American plug. In order to use it in the UK, I would have to buy a transformer for nearly £100. In order to send it back and get a refund, I would have to pay the extortionate postage to America. I feel I've been comprehensively fooled. I'm angry. Don't buy from this seller.
