This Bible is very easy to read very easy to understand and have footnotes that help you study I really love it when I ordered it it's brand new none of the pages are marked it's a wonderful Bible I would recommend buying this Bible especially for those who have a hard time understanding other additions of the Bible

This Bible here is very useful to me! Anytime I am doing devotional readings, or Daily Office readings for my prayer routine every morning, this Translation fits the bill! It is a very easy read, and I quickly get the main idea of what a particular passage is saying. Funny how inspirational literature like the Bible can be spoken like it is speaking to us in our own time. With this said, I don't use the Good News Translation as a "study" Bible. For that, I would need something a little more formal, like the New America Standard Bible, the English Standard Version or my personal favorite, the New Revised Standard Version. In order to study the Bible, I find it necessary to compare translations because I do understand that in many places, there are different ways of translating something. Also, some places in these Bibles are ambiguous or even vague, which kind of defeats the purpose of having a translation using modern terminology, but it is always difficult translating something from one language to another.... But, just to read? This is it! It reads well, easily understood to anyone who can "get by" speaking English. This is a hardcover edition and the Bibles (I ordered two) were in excellent condition. You can lay the Bible flat on a surface and the pages won't fall on each other. It seems to hold it's own very well. Exactly what I needed for doing my morning prayers! I would recommend anyone getting this edition of the Good News Bible!

Very easy to red. It is a replacement for my old1967 paperback. I am enjoying it every morning along with a study guide!

this is a nice, well put together edition that comes with all of the excellent line-drawings from swiss artist annie vallatton. the text is very readable. the paper is decent enough but looks like use of a highlighter may bleed thru so recommend useing colored pencils instead. which is fast becoming my favorite way to highlight since this is common in most bibles now a days. the binding is excellent and should last for a long time. this translation is good for reading and devotions . for serious study i'd go with a more literal version( nasb,nkjv,esv etc.) though this can help clarify the more difficult to read passages. it is always good comparing bible translations to get a better understanding and fuller meaning of all the words used. one additional help it provides is very thorough references to other passages and alternative renderings of the text. all in all a solid edition to add to any ones bible collection. and considering the price, it's a bargin that is hard to beat!

This Bible is the perfect size. The font is not too small and allows for easy reading. You can't go wrong.

Just what I needed to help break down the scriptures in a simpler way to my younger family members.

I grew up reading the "Good News" as a child, it was very easy for me to read and comprehend. I own many Bibles of varying complexity, and this is the translation I use to read to my young boys. I especially enjoy that they included the simple pictures in the revision. They were my favorite thing about this Bible when I was young. I give 4 stars simply because the pages are VERY thin. You can see the text on the other side of the page, and almost the text on the following page. It's my only gripe.
