Save your posture!
This is a joy to use, either seated at your desk, or as I mostly use it, standing with the writing slope on top of a chest of drawers. I'll address two issues with it. Some reviewers have complained that the surface is quite slippery and that paper just falls off it. First, in my experience, this is mostly not true. I have attached a photo of a small journal that has been standing on its own all day and is still where I left it. Same thing with papers. Second, and more important, the slipperiness is a *feature*, not a bug. It's designed to encourage you to use one hand to write, and the other hand to hold the piece of paper. That improves your posture so much, you no longer have that kind of writing-shoulder-going-down-forward-and-twisting kind of posture that anyone who writes a lot will instantly recognize. For long term posture for those who write a lot, it's worth its weight in gold. For those who find this slipperiness annoying, they do include some kind of plastic or rubber surface you can use to prevent that. But I haven't found it necessary, and using it seems to miss the point of the design. The other possible issue is that if like me you write a lot by hand, you will often have something you are reading or taking notes from at the same time, which might be a book, or the previous page you have written. I have used a bit of cardboard that came with the delivery to prop up bits of papers (see attached photo), and there is a small ledge you can prop books on and lean them against the wall at the same time (see another attached photo). That works pretty well, but it's a bit ad hoc, and I would love to see the manufacturers think about how to design a writing slope / book or paper holder that you can use at the same time. But my homemade solution works well for my purposes, and I am sure other users could find similar solutions. All in all, I have been a bit disappointed by various computer stands I've bought to achieve a good posture, but this writing slope was an excellent purchase. All in all, I just love the feeling of handwriting with a fountain pen on this simple but elegant wooden structure. It's slow and calming, so much the opposite of staring at a computer screen.

Writing Slope: Convenient way for writing without neck strain
I really like how you can take it apart when not in use! However I need a little help PLEASE tell me how in the world would you able to keep the grip mat from sliding down? The instructions say to press hard on it to keep it in place - which I did and it doesn’t work!

I Have Fallen In Love With My Slope
I actually purchased two different slopes and this one is VERY sturdy, doesn't shift, or flex. The mat that comes with it keeps papers (and even my cell phone or tablet) in place and the very easy set-up/breakdown makes it a great addition to anyone who still communicates by hand. The angle is perfect and actually even after a marathon writing session I don't have the usual wrist discomfort. If you are going to be moving it around bear in mind that the wooden block that holds the slope in place comes out as soon as you lift the writing pad up so if you are looking for something that can be easily stowed and grabbed again, you will have to deal with breaking it down and setting it back up again. If this is an issue for how you imagine using it, there is no reason why you couldn't Gorilla Glue the block in place or shoot a couple of screws to make the block more permanent. In case you're wondering, I ended up keeping both slopes although the other one is a self-contained unit (e.g. there is nothing that comes apart) but there is a bit of flex in it since it is made of a stiff plastic as opposed to wood like Zieler I'm currently reviewing so I keep that one by my bed for a late night or early morning writing inspiration. The Zieler is a bit pricey compared to other slopes but it's sturdiness, durability, and immovability (I doubt it would move in an earthquake!) makes it totally worth the extra bucks compared to other models.

Simple design that works well
I purchased this item as an aid for my posture when reading and writing both at work and at home. I have been having some upper back and neck problems that I attribute primarily to poor positioning at my desks. I have made several changes, such as raising my computer and changing my seat height. Those things helped, but I still needed more. This board has been just the thing! I use it when reading and writing and also raise my laptop on it. My neck and back are getting back to normal. I love the simple design with no unnecessary bells or whistles. I have been carrying the board back and forth to work, which is not ideal. I may be purchasing another one in the near future.

Great slant board
I love this slant board - I only wish there was a way to afix the rubber writing pad.....it slides down. I tried taping it down, tape doesn't adhere. I tried rubber cement, the mat buckled. I tried binder clips but the wood surface is mitered. Alas, I cut 2 pieces of a sticky-back felt pad and placed them on the bottom edge so the rubber writing surface doesn't slip off the stand.

Grip mat doesn't grip
UPDATE: Raising my star ranking to four, because while the mat was still pretty slippy, the company was conversation and helpful in e-mail and helped walk me through how to apply spray-on-adhesion to the mat to fix the problem and recommended the product to buy. I would have prefered a better mat, but I'm happy that they worked with me to fix the problem instead of blowing me off. I'm fairly disappointed with this; I knew it was overpriced when I bought it, but I expected it to work as described. I need a slope to read and write on to reduce shoulder strain. Unfortunately, the "grip mat" doesn't grip, and instead slides off and throws all of my papers on the ground over and over again. I'm considering gluing it down, or finding a different type of mat, but this is just not working.
