Rock Tawa Dosa 9 Iinch Pre-Seasoned Cast Iron Skillet (Black)

Always wanted to switch to cast iron from non stick . Due to all the maintenance and care required was putting it off till now . But finally I am happy that I made this purchase . The product delivered is of good quality . You need to spend at least 3-4 days it getting it seasoned . I did it over stove top using gingelly oil . Must have done the process around 5-6 times before finally be able to use the tawa .The picture attached is after all the seasoning . Now dosas come out without any issues . I have tried egg as well and no issues with that either . Since size of tawa is not that big , wright is also manageable . Holds heat well . Overall I think it is worth the effort switching to cast iron and a great product to own at around 700 price range .

Description should include, for small dosas only. It is of decent quality, but bit expensive. Needs to be seasoned, but that process was simple, nice and educative and does not deduct any point. We bought it because it was a Coimbatore product!!!. Our, favourite city. Oops,almost forgot, the Tawa gets really really hot and retains it for quite some time, so watch out.

Excellent product! Go for it! Can make dosa and chapattis on the same tawa. Dosa comes out well after making chapattis . Season it once or twice with oil and frying onions before use. Simple process and you get a non sticky tawa. Excellent replacement over non stick ! Healthy! No smell of iron!

Item not coming on use as not able to make even chapati also due to bad quality of metal

As much as I like made in India product I am sorry to have returned this but it was just not up to the standards - Doesn't look seasoned at all, all brownish layers and no shiny blacks - Uneven cooking surface and marks everywhere. - Edge/border of one side is thicker than other. Sign of imperfections - Usable surface is only 21 cm (8.2 inch) while edge to edge is 9 inches as mentioned. Weight is around 1.37 kg You have to like the product to use it then give its usage review but in this case I didn't like the product at all to review further. It may seem like I am pointing out too many mistakes but it is what it is and a manufacturer should put some quality and standards in their product to make made in India label trustworthy.

wel this tawa is best for dosa , it is somewhat small comapred normal pan but it is healthy..u should follow instructions of seasioning for 2 to 3 day after that making that while making dosa please do rub the onion on the surface otherwise dosa will stick on the pan...this far better than aluminum and non stick pan.

I m beginner in cooking dosa. This was my first attempt, i must say if u want to go with healthy options this cast iron tawa is the best. Its not too heavy or too light , perfect weight to handle. It is pre seasoned but still do seasoning for 3 times and enjoy better dosa,chilla than nonstick tawa.

Product is gud,but cost is very high and size is small
