KING PAW2422-W PAW Pic-A-Watt Electric Wall Heater, 2250W / 240V, White

I'm currently doing some home remodelling and decided to upgrade my secondary heat source. My primary heat is wood and someone back down the line put in baseboard heat that has never worked properly. The King PAW heater provides a simple method of installing some relatively effective zone heating that is thermostat controlled in the different rooms of my house and also allows me to select the wattage needed for each room. For new construction, these heaters would be easily installed, remodelling would be a bit more difficult unless you have an unfinished basement area to allow you to get the wiring to the correct section of wall to place the unit and get the power or if you are removing the drywall (which I am not) then the installation would be as simple as new construction. For my purposes, these units are great . . . much better than baseboard and contrary to some reviews I have read, these could be used as a primary heat source with no problems. I highly recommend them.

the heater works very well

Bought two of these to replace Cadet units of almost identical size in my condo. The Cadet units were very loud and the fans produced a whirring sound that made you turn up the TV every time they came on. While not "whisper silent" these are way less intrusive when then come on and sound more like a forced air vent with strong airflow. Don't need to turn up the TV at all and sometimes not even sure the sound I hear is them running. They also put out good heat (I think they run less time than the old Cadets as well). Definitely a good upgrade for older units that were either loud to start with or have gotten loud as they got older. Easy to install if you are handy. Only trick is you have to be careful to not bow the sides when securing them in the wall. If you do, the grating screw holes won't line up very well and it is easy to strip the screw heads if the fit is too snug. Otherwise if you understand basic wiring and can use a screwdriver, it is a good choice.

Installation of heater was straightforward. Instructions were good. Only complaint is that grill screws are silver not white. Heater works well and is quite. Very nice. I am buying another for our entry. However, the on-unit thermostat installation was not as easy. The picture of the mounting bracket is a tiny, bad drawing. The instructions for installation the bracket are non-existantant. But after a couple of tries I got it assembled properly. As mentioned in many online reviews, the screw heads strip out when trying to screw them into the screw holes. I had to drill out the holes and use other phillips screws. Also, please switch the screws to phillips; square head screws strip too easily. Thanks!

These heaters are great when you were finishing a basement and doing new construction. We placed these in the spare bedroom and our theater room in the basement. They easily will heat a room and are perfect for our application which is just to take the chill outta the air. If you have a guest staying in your guest bedroom you don’t want them cranking the heat for the whole house right? We bought the 220 V style which any of these will require a thermostat to control them. You can’t beat these for being quiet unobtrusive and the amount of heat they put out. By the way we had an issue with one of the heaters and the thermal cut off coming on too early. Customer service was great and simply shipped us a new one without requiring the replacement unit. Once the units are installed it is easy to change out the fan and heater unit with just a single screw.

My whole house is heated with these space used heaters. I have one in every room. They are energy efficient, quiet, and attractive. A real value for the money. They last years. I gave only replaced two of them in the last 24 years.

I have been using these heaters for a very long time. They have been my go to heater for 2 decades. At one time I was using so many of them they asked me to try out and evaluate their latest version before release. (I was not given any thing for this.) If you have an issue, their warrantee response is excellent. You can't buy a better heater.

I bought two of these for my freezing cold basement and they are amazing. They heat the whole 750 sqft in less than 30 minutes. One caution though, if you're buying these with the intention of using them with a thermostat, they are high wattage (my two combined are almost 5,000) and you will need an appropriately rated one. King electric makes one, and it works fine, but adds another almost $100 to the cost. If you're using just one, you have more choice.

I installed 4 of them (and 4 thermostats) in the basement suite I am renovating. The Pic-A-Watt system is easy to figure out and they work great. Although wiring in a 240 volt system takes extra, the big deal for me is the low amp draw that is good for my house that only has 100 amp service. What really impressed me was the instant service I got from King Electric. One of the grills had bent louvers and the paint job wasn't good. I emailed them a note about the situation and the next day I got a reply. A new one was put in the mail via expedited post after I emailed the receipts and a picture. The new grill arrived three days after I had sent the initial email. Good fast service for a quality product made in North America. Bravo!"

If installing on an exterior wall understand you will be removing insulation and repairing the vapor barrier first! This was an oversite for us and became a bit of a challenge on a pre-finished wall. We replaced an electric baseboard heater with this unit and adjusted it to 1500W for a 10 x 12 room and it is more than enough heat! It is surprisingly quiet and hook up to existing wall thermostat was simple. It's still too warm to run this heater daily, but so far we are happy with it!

I needed some kind of back up heat in my house just in case my NG boiler ( in floor radiant heat) ever decides to pack it in. We have had our boiler quit on us in the middle of winter at -30C out and I don't want my waterlines/house to freeze. My wife hates the look of electric baseboard heaters, so this was a very nice, low visibility heat alternative. It did take some work running electrical wiring to the location, but mounting the three units I bought on inside walls made fishing the wires in from the attic fairly easy. I used independant thermostats that I have set at 12C, so if ever the heat goes off(gas) these three units (6600watts) will easily manage to keep my house from freezing.

This heater was not exactly the same size as original, but the closest I could find. Just 1/2" deeper so had to install a wood molding spacer. Also 2" narrower than original. Like the quiet high CFM fan. Work great!

Excellent heater for our cottage. Puts out a great heat and very easy to install.
