Play with paint, get creative with color, and discover your personal palette--a joyful, interactive workbook for creativity, self-expression, and deepening your understanding of how color works. Color is one of the most profound ways we have to express ourselves. In this lively workbook for artists, graphic designers, hobbyists, and creators of all types, you will journal your way through fresh and enriching ways to develop a more personal connection to color in your art and life. Using watercolors, gouache, or any other water-based medium, dive into color theory and explore your personal style while playing with a balanced blend of experiments and color meditations. Discover a personal color wheel while exploring tints and shades. Experiment with color mixing while you make as many of one color as you can - and then name them all (honeydew green, avocado green, mint ice cream...). Through playful prompts and inspiring examples, and with lots of room for painting, this book will guide you to a new or expanded relationship with color and deepen your understanding of what color can do for you. Review: Fabulous for Beginner! - I'm an adult beginner with watercolors because, um, the pandemic, of course. I've always just considered myself unartistic and was pretty sure I'd never understand color theory. I was getting so discouraged trying to mix paints like the youtubers I was following. This book, however, is amazing. The author seems highly experienced in teaching at all levels. She alternates "meditations" which are lovely no pressure painting projects with color theory exercises. I was completely shocked when my first color wheel turned out beautifully. She is very reassuring and promises that even if you mess up a lesson it will teach you a valuable experience. I can't recommend this enough. The best of any tutorial/book I've tried! I am so much more confident with making my own colors. Btw, this book can be done with watercolors or gouache. Review: Wow! - This is the book I was searching for! I love the visuals and interactive approach. The paper quality is excellent, the writing is clear, and the activities are super fun. I’d love to see a version 2 that explores color mixing with warm and cool colors. It's a fantastic resource for anyone interested in color theory and watercolor!

Color Theiry
When I first got this book, I hated it and gave it two stars. I was looking for mixing formulas and color theory. I got the book out again, recently, and found that the author is TEACHING color theory, not just presenting information. This is essentially a class and you have to work at it and do the exercises. With that insight, I am giving it five stars. You don’t read this, just study it and DO THE EXERCISES. This is a class, not a “read”.

A Field Guide To Color - A More Technical Guide With Exercises
I'm a kind of go with the flow kind of gal and this book challenged me to think about color in different ways. This book is loaded with information if you are looking to learn and use color theory in your paintings. It is loaded with exercises to get you to look at and experience color in different ways. Not totally my cup of tea but a well written book.

A must for any color lover and artist F
This book is a must in any type of art you may be interested in. Yes it’s a watercolor work book but color theory knowledge is a must in almost every type of media there is!! This book is fun and there are so many great projects that explain how colors work together. You can paint the projects in the book, which I love, or paint them on watercolor paper of your choice. The author is a master of colors!! Her stories about how she’s always been drawn to color and now it’s her career??? I couldn’t imagine how happy I’d be if working with color was something I got paid to do. If your reading reviews you must be interested in buying this book. I 100% recommend it thoroughly.

Good ideas for exploring color
I purchased this for the color theory and exercises, although I use fiber rather than watercolor paints. It provides nice exercises.

A joyful, meditative way to explore colour
This is one of the most enjoyable painting activity books I’ve ever used. It’s beautifully thought out and genuinely fun from start to finish. The activities can be done either directly in the book or in your own sketchbook — I chose to work both on watercolour paper pieces and in the book itself, and the paper quality was absolutely good enough to do so. It handled paint well and never got in the way of the process. This isn’t a step-by-step guide on how to paint flowers or specific subjects. Instead, it offers a meditative and playful way to explore creativity and colour. You experiment, mix, and respond intuitively, and somehow the end results always feel satisfying and beautiful. You will learn how to mix basic colours to match any colour! I completed this book about a year ago (it took me roughly a month), and I still remember it fondly. I would happily do it again — which says a lot for an activity book. Overall: an excellent book for anyone who wants to experiment with colour, understand how colours work together, and enjoy the creative process without pressure. I would absolutely recommend it.

Excelente livro.
Livro excelente.

Fun but not really useful
The colours theory in it is slightly inaccurate. Red is not a primary colour
