How to make a handcrafted leather sheath: -First, the necessary measures for the sheath of the item to be protected must be taken in to account. -Having obtained the measurements, draw a pattern of the sheath on a sheet of cardboard to check that the item fits into the sheath. By taking this step possible mistakes can be avoided. -When the item has been checked against the sheath, proceed to draw the patterns onto the leather sheet. -Next, use a cutter for cutting the pattern out. -The edges can be painted using a dye of the same colour as the leather or leave them with their natural colour. -A separator between the leather sheets, which can also be painted is recommended. The separator can be of the same material as the sheath or bonded leather fibre material (salpa)/composition leather (this material is available in different thicknesses). -For gluing the leather a contact adhesive must be used, given that when using another adhesive the leather can become detached due to heat, rubbing... -Once the parts which make up the sheath have been glued, finish the sheath off by sewing its ends together. A special needle for sewing leather must be used as it is a thick material and a straightforward needle will not be of little use.

Just wanted tooling leather for small project
I didn't want to spend £50 on a sheet of leather, might as well just buy a belt tool holster made by someone who knows what they're doing for that money (after buying leather glue, needles etc.)((And the hours of my cackhanded chimp-like dexterity spent))Turned out good enough and I put that down to the leather being decent as much as my determination in the face of my painful inadequacies in leather. The one sheet I think was slightly bigger than A4 if I remember correctly, and I sliced that in 3 to create the belt holster you see in the pictures. So would reccomend for small projects like this

Good quality
Looks very good. Not used it yet...

Expensive.
This is a decent piece of leather but it's annoying that it's possible to buy pre made sheaths for less than the cost of this item.

nice leather, sadly thicker than advertised
Nice leather, no defects on the face side.However.. mine is 4mm thick, not the 2.8-3mm I was expecting.. entirely useless for the project I am working on.

Excellent value
Arrived on time and just as described. I will be ordering more soon for my next project. The quality of the leather was excellent with no major flaws. It had a consistent thickness throughout.

High quality leather. Made a nice sheath for a hook knife with it. Very satisfied.
