D'Addario Accessories Glass Slide, Large

I bought this slide for a second guitar, open tuned. I wanted to be able to have a small slide in each guitar case for convenience. I already had a Planet Waves Glass Slide and have enjoyed using it for most of my open tuning blues songs as well as other genre. -- Stats ------------------------------------- Length: 1-15/16 inch [ 49.2mm ] Inside Diameter: 5/8 inch [ 15.87mm ] Outside Diameter: 1 Inch [ 25.4mm ] The glass slide, more precisely a 'boron silicate' slide, can be worn on my hand, on the pinky and third fingers, almost to the second knuckle. It fits securely and has never come loose or fallen off. I can not get the slide on the index or middle fingers and this was expected. I use a small slide instead of a full length for two reasons. First; I am able to move the small light glass slide around the fingerboard much faster. It is less cumbersome and lighter than a full length brass or steel slide. Second; I like the short slide for lead playing and, if need be, can move faster with more accuracy on the strings. I don't need to unnecessarily mute the other strings that are not in contact with the slide. I just feel more agile using the smaller slide for lead. I like the tone of the glass slide on my strings. Generally it sounds more crisp and bright even with Nickel strings on my electric and Phosphor-bronze on my Resonator. I recommend for those who have not tried other types of slides to also get a steel slide and a brass slide. Both tones are very different from the glass, which tends to provide a more clean tone in comparison. Steel can give a nasty old blues sound and brass has a mellow sound, all things being equal among the three. I give this slide 5 stars because simply works well. It is nicely polished, there are no sharp edges anywhere on the slide, and has a smooth inside surface. I have purchased other Planet Waves items and find their workmanship very good to excellent. Heavy walled D'Addario slide is great. Be very careful with sizing: I believe sizing of the small is slightly off. I measured my finger as best I could ordered the small. I couldn't get on my pinkie, so I had my wife try it because her hands are much smaller than mine: she couldn't get it on her pinkie! That said, this is a nice heavy walled slide.

works fine, I prefer for acoustic slide, for electric guitar a metal slide is brighter, all depends on the sound you want...

I love this little slide. Thick and smooth (giggity) I got the shorter one and it fits great over my pinky. I have normal size hands for someone who is 5’7” 145lbs. It’s short enough that it doesn’t stick over the top of my finger and gives me precise control.

Was just what I wanted . Good seller I would do business with them again .

This slide is the exact size I was hoping for. I can confirm the listed size is correct - 48mm long and inside measurement of 17mm, which matches a metal slide I’ve been learning with. This glass slide is a bit lighter though and, I believe as a result, a little more forgiving. My hands/fingers are likely smaller than most so this slide may not be a good choice for medium to large hands.

Unfortunately sizing is an issue. I have medium to small hands and thought a medium would fit me best, wrong. The best fit is a large to my surprise. I guess my fingers area little fatter than I thought? Once you get the correct size though these are super comfortable. I like the sound of glass but will also be getting a brass one because they both provide different tonal qualities. It's by no means easy to get used to but with some practice you'll be surprised how good it sounds. I wouldn't say by any means I'm proficient at playing slide yet but I can get a few notes in here and there that just sound distinct and juicy! If you want a serious defining sound to have in your toolkit that doesn't cost you hundreds of dollars (insert any guitar pedal here) this IS what you need!

La verdad es que la marca Daddario hace productos muy buenos y este es otro mas de ellos. Poco que decir, es un slide de vidrio bastante resistente (alguna caida siempre se llevan). El vidrio es grueso y esta muy bien rematado en los extremos. Por dentro se siente pulido y es muy comodo de usar.

Great weight, nice case to put in gig bag. High quality, sits on joint above knuckle so finger not encased in the thing like longer ones.

Fits a size 9-10 on ring finger. If it put on my middle it gets stuck, and on pinky it's too big and wobbles/falls. I bought it for ring finger and to use as a flat slide. 10/10 rating.

I've a metal slide and it was too big and the sound was very sharp. However, this glass slide was perfect fit for my finger and it has a very rounded sound and I love it. I use it on an electric btw
