Excellent Blend Lets Salmon Take Center Stage, Crazy Good But Not Too Spicy
When you think Cajun seasoning you generally think hot and spicy. The late and great Chef Paul Prudhomme came out with a line of Magic Seasoning, some like his Blackened Redfish are hot, many others just fine blends of herbs and spices. I've found his Magic Salmon Seasoning to be one of the very best. This comes in a generous 7 ounce cardboard cannister with handy sift ot por spout. Going by current Amazon prices, one use, 1/4 teaspoon, will cost you less than 4 cents! The ingredients are sugar, salt, pepper, granulated onion and garlic, yellow mustard seeds and paprika. There is nothing there specific for fish and no reason you can't use it on other foods like tomatoes, cucumbers, potato salad, chicken or shrimp. For delicious salmon fillets. I'll brush them with a little melted butter/olive oil, a sprinkling of dill and then Chef Paul's Magic Salmon Seasoning. If the fish is skinless, repeat on the other side. Bake for 20 minutes and ooh la la! 100 mg sodium per serving is a modest amount, so salty taste doesn't overpower the delicate fish in question. It's Gluten-free, Kosher and gets 5 stars for the most tasty alchemy around.

Amazing salmon seasoning
This is probably my 10th time purchasing this salmon seasoning. I use it liberally on the fish after spraying it with avocado oil and it comes off the grill tasting as good, if not better than what you would get in a restaurant. This is a must if you love salmon.

Simple, deliciousโperfect for salmon (and butter)
This is my goโto seasoning whenever we have salmon. Honestly, itโs pretty much this and butterโฆ lots of butterโand that combo never fails. The flavor works perfectly with salmon. It adds enough seasoning to enhance the fish without overpowering it or masking the natural flavor. Whether baking, panโsearing, or grilling, itโs consistently good and easy to use. I like that it doesnโt require much thought or extra ingredients. Sprinkle it on, add butter, cook, and youโre done. Simple, reliable, and delicious. If you cook salmon regularly and want a dependable seasoning that just works, this one earns a permanent spot in the kitchen.

I love that Louisiana taste on fish. Slightly salty but not overpowering the salmon.

I didn't know what I was missing all these years......
I used this on the salmon filets we have weekly. I used the typical herbs and spices and they were good, but THIS seasoning gives it a little "something special in overall final flavor. It's not overpowering, hot or bitter. I t's gives it a little punch or boost of flavor. I GENEROUSLY sprinkle it on about an hour before I cook my filets in Butter and Olive oil on the stove top. I still use the other standard "green" herbs as well, and this seasoning goes on last. I usually let my salmon come to room temperature and season them an hour before cooking so the seasonings all get a chance seep into it, not just lay on top.

Excellent Salmon spice... Period. Decades Using it!
Sprinkle this on your salmon before baking and as it is near being finished in the oven, add/spread a Thai sweet chilly glaze like the one you get at Costco over the top and then shove under your broil burner of your oven from the bake setting to caramelize/char the sugar in the glaze a bit and it is the most awesome salmon from the oven. Careful you don't burn it too much under the Broil setting. Gotta keep a vigilant eye on it at that stage. Been doping this for decades now. The trick with salmon - and most fishes - is to not overcook the salmon. Apply the glaze to the broil routine when you see the salmon still has raw red in the middle poking it with a fork. Usually, the salmon is sweating at this point and some will show whitish "bubbles" on their surface when they are close to that stage of cooking. Overcooked Salmon, or any fish for that matter sucks! But even when it can still happen to me with the above methods, the Prudhomme spice and the Sweet Chilly Glaze still make it edible. Another good fish spice from the Prudhomme line of spices is their Blackened Redfish spice. Excellent on Swordfish smearing the surface first with melted butter on the fish first and carefully adding melted butter as you cook it on a barbecue. Melts in your mouth! Their Salt Free Seasoning is also excellent for veggie spicing for the BBQ as well. No affiliation with Prudhomme or whatever vendor may be connected to this review other than a very satisfied Prudhomme user for well over three decades now, but now their spices are hard to find here in Canada. Shame!
