Perfect addition to our new furnace
After our furnace died during the coldest week yet this winter, we had to finally bite the bullet and replace it. The new one is crazy efficient and works so much better than the old one, but that in itself raised a new problem where some rooms are now sweltering while others are lagging slightly behind. Enter this cute like smart sensor. We placed one in the room furthest from the thermostat and within the first day, noticed a big difference and figured we'd add one more for the opposite end of the first floor. We then set the thermostat to average these readings. You can also have it adjust for only when rooms are occupied, or manually override very easily through the interface, but for us the average feature is working best. You can add up to 20 sensors, which I feel would be crazy overkill for our 1800'ish sq/ft first floor, so we'll see how this do over the rest of the winter. Overall very pleased with easy installation in the thermostat interface and if you can attach a command strip, then mounting them in the desired room is a breeze. I'll revisit the review if anything strange comes up.

Work great
Work great, pairing was a pain for 2 sensors. However the 4 other ones (same kind & brand) paired easily!!! I have a total of 6 sensors in my home.

Thermostat outside of bedroom. Great Solution!
If you have a home with Honeywell T9 or T10 Thermostats, this is a great remote sensor for nearby rooms. In my case, I own a vacation home in Sun City. My home, a Voyage model has two bedrooms and three heating/cooling zones. The thermostat in question is in the common hall just outside the guest bedroom doors. When my family visits, they close the doors at night, making the thermostat unable to read the temperature in the two rooms. The sensors (I needed two) are very easy to set up and give them priority over the main thermostat. I just installed them this last week and they worked exactly as I hoped. After the family left, I returned priority to the main thermostat. Highly recommended!

Room Sensors
Theses sensors measure air temperature and humidity and also have motion detection. They’re very easy to setup unless your thermostat is defective, which mines was. Fortunately, my installer returned and replaced my thermostat, but not after I spent many hours frustrated trying to figure it out on my own, and then a technician spent nearly two hours troubleshooting. I finally called customer service, and after being placed on a hold a few times, they determined it was defective. As a result, my installer came back and tried to troubleshoot again before finally installing a new thermostat. The sensors were immediately recognized and it took less than 10 minutes to add 4 sensors. I installed sensors in four rooms outside the room with the thermostat (living room), and I can easily check the temps for each room using the app, which is also very easy to setup. When set to active, the priority is the room with motion. The default is the room with the thermostat, when there’s no motion and when set on “away” on the schedule. I work from home so prefer to prioritize the room I’m actually in, especially since my office is usually warmer or colder than the rest of the house. The issue with my defective thermostat was getting an error that it could not enter enroll mode. There was zero guidance online, which is why I’m mentioning it. Despite my initial frustration, I’m glad I decided to keep trying and finally got it to work. These sensors have definitely help create a more consistent temperature throughout my home and always comfortable where I actually am, but it can result in the a/c or heater running longer to reach lower or higher temps seems temps can vary throughout the home.

Compatibility Issues - Beware
This device is actually great when it works. I have two of them connected to my T9 thermostat and they work as intended. The problem is the fact that the manufacturer made changes to the thermostat and/or the sensor since I originally purchased the T9 in 2021, and the extra sensor in 2023. There is no way of telling which version you are buying by looking at the product description and the packaging. I called their customer service when I was not able to establish a connection. The rep wanted to start a video call so she could see the labeling on both products. However, their video call system did not work on my phone so I was asked to email pictures of both as well as proof of purchase. I did not understand why they would need the proof of purchase just to tell me if the two devices were compatible. She finally agreed to check compatibility first and then ask for proof of purchase, if needed. It turns out they need it for a possible replacement. I still don't get it as I bought this on Amazon and not from the manufacturer directly. I emailed the pictures, was asked for another picture, i.e., the label inside the battery compartment of the sensor which I sent. By the way, customer service answered the phone right away so I give them credit for that. The rep needs to improve her listening skills and use her judgement instead of just following the script she is given. For instance, I told her that the reset procedure listed on the company's website (press the connect button for 15 seconds and wait for the orange light) did not work on my device. She could have easily asked me for the number printed after the model number instead of asking for pictures. That would have solved the problem. After that I did some research online and realized that this is a known issue: Series 1 of the thermostat is not compatible with series 2 of the sensor so I returned the product. As always Amazon was great with the return request. In summary, do not buy this if you bought the T9 couple years ago and would like to add another sensor, like I did. Resideo website has the old version available for purchase so I may buy one. In my opinion, it is a poor manufacturing practice to make changes which are not backwards compatible.

Tiny number didn’t match my T10
Didn’t match my T10. Went through a half hour on the phone with Honeywell support - there’s a tiny sideways number near the serial number on both the thermostat and sensor and they need to match! There is no indication of these numbers on the outside of the package either… which explains why the “new” devices were opened.

Great addition to smart home controls
Easy to install and configure. The Resideo app allows sensor control to be modified on the fly as well as per schedule. The devise is relatively small with no annoying display so it can be incorporated into many rooms without distracting from their appearance. The averaging of temperatures among rooms makes the functionality a must have. The comfort these provide makes it well worth the money.

Great Sensors, Work Great! -- Also Got T9 Thermostat!
We have a 2 story saltbox colonial house which we struggled keeping a balanced temperature. We owned a Honeywell Lyric Thermostat before, but we wanted to see if we could do zoned sensors. We brought the T9 to help keep the temperature correct on our second floor nursery. We also ended up buying 6 additional sensors to help balance the temperature across my upstairs office, nursery, master bedroom, and 3 downstairs rooms. To our pleasure the house has been very well balanced with temperature. I do see a 2-3 degree difference between what our nanny camera temp is reading and what the sensor is seeing. We adjusted the temperature up 2 degrees to make sure the nanny camera stayed above 69 degrees. My favorite thing is the schedule and selecting the zone priority. During the morning it prioritizes the breakfast area, the day priority is my office, around noon it prioritizes the nursery for my childs nap, after nap time it's back to my office, followed by downstairs around 5pm for dinner, and 7pm and on it balances the temp between our master bedroom and nursery. It does it on a schedule and automatically averages the temps. Completely worth the money without having to purchase dampers + controllers + air balancer (~$2000) for the the basement! While it may not integrate into the Home Kit yet, it is home kit compatible, and I'm hoping with enough reviews, we can get them to invest time to complete that effort! Thanks Honeywell + Resideo for creating a great product!

Now compatible with version 3 of the Honeywell T9
*****Update***** I bit the bullet and ordered a 2 pack and a single, hoping I'd get the right version this time. In both the 2 pack and single pack, I got version 2, which turned out to work with my version 3 of the Honeywell T9 WiFi system. I now have 4 sensors total placed in different areas of the home and the home is heated significantly better than when I only had the one sensor that came with the thermostat. I am very happy and have marked the review 5 stars. *Original Review, 1 star* Not compatible with version 3 of the Honeywell T9. The two that I got were version 1. They were not compatible with my Honeywell T9. As such, I returned.

Using with T9 Thermostat: excellent!
Our thermostat unfortunately is placed where it gets morning Sun for part of the year, which has always made it think the home was warmer than reality on cold February mornings! So.. enter these remote sensors at C$24/ea. I placed one out of direct sunlight in the main living area, and used the T9 thermostat's touchscreen to set it up and to use it rather than the sensor built-into the thermostat itself. Problem solved, and the sensor is in a better area of the home as well. Got a second sensor for the master bedroom area, too. These are easy to install (special double sided foam mounting tape included in the package), and use a dedicated RF link to/from the thermostat rather than WiFi (the thermostat itself also does use WiFi). Recommended at C$24/each! I might get more of them..

Feedback and Refund Request for Honeywell Home RCHTSENSOR-1PK Smart Room Sensor
I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the Honeywell Home RCHTSENSOR-1PK Smart Room Sensor. Unfortunately, the product has not met expectations and does not function as advertised. The sensor only detects motion and fails to recognize occupancy if someone is sitting at a desk working or lying still in the room, such as when sleeping. This limitation significantly reduces its usefulness, as it does not effectively account for actual room occupancy under normal living conditions. This crucial detail was not highlighted in the product description, leading to a misleading purchase decision. I believe this omission is unacceptable, as the product cannot deliver the intended value in real-world scenarios. I kindly request a refund for this product, as it does not perform as expected and fails to align with the advertised functionality. Please let me know the steps to initiate the return and refund process. Thank you for your understanding. I look forward to your prompt response.
