I ordered this ballast to replace the existing one in my Aquarium light fixture. My 55 gallon aquarium uses two separate light fixtures which I have hooked up to a timer to shut-off and turn out throughout the day. I have the units set this way to try to avoid the massive load of algae which would inevitably occur if left on all day. Recently, however, I noticed that one of the lights failed to turn on. At first I thought that it might be a defective light bulb so I tried replacing that. Unfortunately, the new bulb also failed to light. So I knew that the problem. I just happened to have an extra ballast which I proceeded to install. Installation is very easy, not requiring an electrician. Basically just match the colors. I used wire ties to fasten the wires together and when I was completed and fired it up, it worked perfectly. The unit that I ordered was now used as the backup in case of another failure. I would definitely use this unit again. I summary, I am very happy that I am able to obtain this unit from Amazon as there would be no other way to obtain this unit.

So far so good! I replaced the ballast in a fish tank light. It was easy to install and worked like a charm and saved me a lot of money versus buying a new light.

My bulb started flickering and got dim, my first instinct was to order a new bulb cause the bulb was going out. New bulb came, same problem. I got to researching and figured out it’s the ballast that goes bad when it flickers and goes dim. I got it in today and changed it myself. Worked perfectly and put my old bulb back in and it’s brighter than ever! So happy I didn’t have to buy a whole new lid. This ballast fit my 36g bowfront aquarium lid in case anyone else is having the same issue with theirs. My fishies have light again!

Needed to replace in a fish light. No instructions included but was still an easy straightforward Installation. Just take apart and replace each wire one by one to match all the same connections.

This is an exact match to the original, fit perfectly in the fixture.
