Easy Install
My slider was open way to often, I have a Great Dane that has access to the yard and the house all day and he knows it. He would open the door with his nose and see you later heat or air until I got home, not to mention the bugs. I installed it in about an hour tonight with a RFID tag for his collar, wow what a product. Full discloser I am a garage door company owner sooo kinda easy. Hopefully it holds up but I am very happy with what I am seeing. I also installed mine on the floor for a couple reasons that helped. I could hide the plug without having to put in a outlet and you can see the dip switches easily.

My experience
The motor itself is pretty good. Have to go online to get install instructions, that are not to hard to follow. The install wasn't too hard. The pet tags were defective , had to reprogram every couple days, then quit altogether. So ordered motion sensors, they were worse. Would constantly pick up ghost motion and keep door wide open for hours. Tried contacting CS over issues, no word from them.

Great idea, ill conceived
I bought this product after researching the others on the market as well. This one had the dog remote controls that I liked so I bought it. I had a heavier door (18 pound pull) so ordered the "elite" motor which was more expensive but supposedly pulled more weight. When it arrived there were several issues -- first off NO dog tags, they send me the other sensors that are not water proof. I was told they are back ordered "indefinitely"....the "elite" motor was labeled exactly as the original motor so no idea if it is real or not. The track it rolls on is in 2 pieces (probably a shipping decision) which is a weak point in the system. Worked great (the reason for 2 stars) but almost on a weekly basis, it started to grind the gears, going off track. So we'd reset it, and it would work again...for another week. It's a shame, great idea, needs more work though.

Great idea, dangerous product, bad customer svc
After we installed it following the video and booklet, the unit didn't respond to any pressure but did stop once it was closed. Dangerous to my dogs but I decided just to have it stay open as long as possible giving them time to move in and out of the doorway. The time open adjustment didn't affect it at all but the dogs seemed to go in/out fast enough. Right away one tag didn't work so EVO told me to replace the battery, which fixed the issue. Then the other tag stopped working entirely so EVO sent a new one. The new one worked for a little while and then its light stayed on and the door stopped sensing it. During that time, the door began thinking it wasn't closed when it was, making the gear grind on the track continuously until I unplugged it. I called EVO and they had me reteach the door. This worked for one or two revolutions of the door opening but then went back to thinking it wasn't closed. It still wasn't responding to pressure even though I tried holding the handle and pulling back with all my 150lbs. It pushed so hard the track cracked. The guy said he'd call me back. He didn't. So a week or so of waiting later, I called Autoslide. The guy refused to listen to the issue, saying my door was probably out of adjustment. What sort of adjustment would possibly make the unit not respond to pressure and potentially injure myself or one of the dogs??!! Asked for a replacement or refund and Autoslide stopped talking to me. The place I bought it from was wonderful about it and resolved it quickly. Great idea but terrible and dangerous product.

Wonderful product
I have autoslide installed now for over a year and it works great. I installed it myself with the help of the autoslide technicians and their installation videos that they provided me. The installation itself is a little involved and if you don't feel confident about your skills with a drill, and a screwdriver then it is best to have the system installed by a professional. There are plenty installers out there that will install the system for a fee. I have two dogs, that now go in and out of the house to the backyard as they please. I do not have to worry about letting them out anymore in the middle of the night. I think this is the best purchase that I have made for my pets.

Will not work outside in cold weather climate.
If you live in a cold weather state this may not work for you. My sliding door is set up so the opener unit had to be installed on the outside. I live in the Chicago area. This worked ok for a few months in the summer but the unit failed in the fall when the weather got colder. I called and they sent a replacement unit without much fuss so good on them for that. a week after I installed the replacement unit the weather got below freezing. At that point the door started to be erratic. Not closing or constantly opening and closing and needing to be reset. After talking to a tech on the phone I was told the cold weather may be the issue.
